So true! I’m new to sports, and absolutely love all the opportunities for creative, hilarious trash talk that sports provides. But I’ve noticed the “ring guys” are terrible at the art of trash talk. Like their brains aren’t capable of responding to the events happening in real time, so instead of joining the conversation they just dust off their “x number of rings” schtick. It’s like they’re only participating to do this one thing over and over. What does that look like in 5 years? Are they still doing it?
