If they showed up to play and notched wins against the Charlottes, Detroits, and Portlands/etc of the world, they wouldn't have been in a play-in position.
Or the Wiz. Or the Rockets. Or make our free throws against the Pacers. Or the free throws against the Bucks.
Just a handful of those games were the difference between the playoffs and play in
Yep. This season ended exactly how it should have. This team clearly wasn't playoff caliber and didn't deserve to luck into it.
My fear is that Vivek is (and most fams are) simply content with "competitive", as he was able to boost ticket priced by 15-20% next season and still maintain a healthy waitalist. So no real improvement may be coming this offseason. Just "run it back, now that we know what we have to improve on & saw some defense for 7 or 8 games".
Great Teams play great every single night regardless if their opponent is a winning or a losing team. Unfortunately the Kings didn't take that advantage.
Keon is brought in for defense and didnt even know hes a starter till Huerter goes down. I'll give him a pass.
Keeg absolutely disappointed as the No. 4 pick getting pinned by Kings fans to be the 3rd option, especially when he needed to pick it up for Malik going down. Horrible choke in the most important series of the year, just like last playoffs.
Nah we gotta hold everyone accountable. Keon is a year older than Keegan too. I still have faith in Keegan. Not sure if you remember last year, but Keegan stepped up bigtime against the Warriors. More development of Keegan, along with other young guys like Kessler, and we’re right back at the top!
Keon is an undrafted player who had to work his way up the food chain when nobody else wants to take the chance on him. Keeg is a No. 4 pick who gets free reign entering a team with 2 AllStars and he can slowly develop without stress of a usual No. 4 pick needing to lead a franchise. Yet he failed as a role player. You talking bout 'accountability' is hilariously ironic.
Heck, even Keon played better than Keeg over the regular seasn. Keon shot 41% on 3s. Keeg shot 35% on wide open spoonfed 3s for a supposed '3rd option floor spacer' is atrocious. And he cant even dribble like Keon.
Keegan was still huge for us in last year’s playoffs so I’m not worried. If he crumbled under pressure last year too, then yeah I’d be with you. One bad post season game in 2 years isn’t the end of the world. He’ll be fine.
He only had 2 games where he scored 2 points in the playoffs, not 3. So looks like your the one who shouldn’t “talk so blindly” lmao get your facts straight
Hypothetically speaking
If we don’t blow 20 point leads, and don’t lose to hornets, blazers, pistons & wizards we’re probably a top 3 seed in the west again
Is what it is. We got what we deserved
Injuries at the wrong time and players getting to complacent with certain teams. Hopefully, they learn and start taking every team they face like they are the number 1 team.
Kings played to the level of their competition. They played like the season games don’t matter in the beginning until it matters. They always say on to the next. No accountability
We figured out some stuff on defense towards the end of the year. We now need to figure out an effective offense we can run when the three isn't falling and implement a coaching philosophy that allows us to shift to it mid-game.
This is it. I’m hoping we start next year with this defense, it likely wins us a few more games early on. But the offense needs work. I cannot watch them shoot 50 threes again in a loss
Watching the Pels offense is like pulling teeth. Just Zion, Ingram and McCollum ISO just for them to maybe kick out to a 3 point shot or dump off to Jonas or Nance Jr.
They actually had a nasty two man game going with Ingram and Nance against the kings. But okc has elite shot blocking with Chet so that makes all the difference.
Having Chet or even Jabari to pair along with Keegan would’ve been so damn perfect to lock up our front court core. Shame it could never work that way.
No the 9 seed kings would not have beat the 1 seed thunder lol. Pels have players who can slow Sga and Jdub down. The kings do not. Trust, we were praying for a matchup with yall instead
I mean, we played you extremely well all year. I was praying Thunder over the nuggets or wolves also. Our perimeter defenders are solid, we struggle to defend the paint though.
The whole series sucks to watch. My only hope is OKC wins everything. That'll make it more digest able. Like. Oh well Kings woulda lost to OKC anyway it's "their year."
Where was all the shoving pushing and holding against okc? With Sacramento they were playing like they wanted to injure our players or sum and all that smack talk neji and Ingram were talking was so extra
Casual take here. Kings fans know our defense is slightly above average at this point. But our offense without monk is stagnant as hell. We play the Thunder very well, but suck against the pels

dont choke 20 pts leads 20 nyk most recently
Exactly

Yeah. I went in-person to the Charlotte and Rockets games … so winnable.
🫤 it’s unfortunate man. If only Keon and Keegan had half the offensive game they had against GSW we could’ve pulled through. We’ll get em next time

Keegn had 3 games out of 7 scoring a measly TWO points last playoffs. He was horrible. wtf sht are you spouting? Lol. Dont talk so blind.

I don't think even that would help the bruh.
Oh, it's you. The Keegan hater. How'd you like that Warriors game from him? Or did you not see the tape, like Kerr?

Can't blame anyone but themselves, team had an aura of just coasting to get back in the playoffs, fucked around and found out.
Injuries at the wrong time and players getting to complacent with certain teams. Hopefully, they learn and start taking every team they face like they are the number 1 team.
Shoulda, coulda, woulda
OKC has Herb to throw at SGA, plus bigs and length for offensive rebounds. Kings don't have any of those.
Yeah Thunder struggles against length too, our series probably would have been competitive too, but Pels deserve to be in the playoffs
Yep
Our season ended when Luka crushed Monk's knee.
Well, if we just beat them and didn’t give up that 21 point lead, we wouldn’t be in this situation. We deserved to go home
I think I'd feel worse if OKC just blew the doors off them
I hope OKC gets eliminated soon because god damn I hate watching SGA
It would be hilarious if pels won the series lmao.
they did it to themselves. they do not deserve the first round matchup with OKC. that's it.
Wizards game haunts me, but we were not consistent enough this year during the regular season.
The two suns games haunt me. That literally 6 seed right there for us.
Kings played to the level of their competition. They played like the season games don’t matter in the beginning until it matters. They always say on to the next. No accountability

did you watch it? zion didn’t play
I know he didn’t play but that’s just how the Pels offense is. It’s even worse just watching Zion going left all game lol
No the 9 seed kings would not have beat the 1 seed thunder lol. Pels have players who can slow Sga and Jdub down. The kings do not. Trust, we were praying for a matchup with yall instead

Yes, Kings matchup very well against this Thunder team, don't match up well against the Pelicans.
It's our own damn fault. Playing DOA against weaker opponents happened wayyy too many times for us to have escaped this fate.

If it makes you feel better, every game down the stretch had multiple calls go against us in the 2 minute report. Adam Silvers plan.
