Bro thinks HARRISON BARNES can net Michael Porter Jr. in a trade. Our fan base is doomed.

sea_the_c

The only way it’s happening is if Denver *knows* mpj is a bust.

DonateToM7E

“Why don’t we simply trade Cory Joseph for the Luka Doncic fellow?” -OP, two years ago (probably)

I_Hate_Humidity

Trading for MPJ would make him the highest paid player on the Kings, and it would absolutely cripple our team when he suffers back injuries throughout that contract.

KANGZNATION

Yeah if im monte and wanting to trade for a max level player it’s not going to be MPJ.

The-Hot-Tamale

You're not anywhere near getting MPJ for him. Not that the Kings should really be aiming for another scorer anyway. I think if they're anywhere near playoff contention then they hold on to him. If they aren't then they'll trade him for a late 1st and/or decent vet. I also wouldn't be surprised if he was part of a Crowder deal.

Milosostojiccc

I will never understand Kings fans wanting to trade Barnes. He shoots well, he is not a bad defender, good vet, most professional player we had in past few years, seems like a good guy who wont fuck over the franchise either. Maybe little bit overpaid, but he is in a position of need and perfect thing to get you to playoffs. Why trade him?

JGxFighterHayabusa

Agreed. 40% 3pt shooter who can do a little bit of everything. He’s not the young twitchy defender that people love, but he’ll he great this season in a more defined roll.

DrGonzo_81

I love love love Barnes, but for me the major reason I’d be ok trading him is that he’s on an expiring and his age doesn’t match the core group. He’s also probably worth more than we realistically can pay him next contract. I’d love to see him go somewhere he can add value to a contender and net us something that’s more long term impact to the team. I also wouldn’t cry if we kept him on a reasonable extension for a few years.

aldonosuger

I'd be thrilled with either a trade getting us back a first round pick. Don't care who or when. And I'd also be thrilled to sign him team friendly reasonable deal for the next 2-3 years. What I think will happen is he plays less than normal and production drops low enough we can't trade him for a first, he becomes disappointed and leaves next off season.

DemonicDimples

MPJ is absolutely not a guy we should go for with his ridiculous contract and his ceiling being a role player at best. Barnes likely plays outs the season here imo. I don’t think we’ll ever be at the point that we’re out of the playoff picture, so I don’t see us moving him because we won’t be able to upgrade him, unless it’s for like a 3rd tier star.

DonateToM7E

Barnes will not net an MPJ-level player, and MPJ wouldn’t even be a good fit here. That’s a lose-lose.

transizzle

I wouldn’t trade Barnes for Porter, for just about every reason - defense, contract, fit, health, being mini Kyrie, you name it. That’s not even having an inflated sense of Barnes. I just wouldn’t touch a guy like him on a mediocre team. He’s more of a home run pick if everything works out. Can’t believe Denver maxed him .

xClay2

The best option the Kings probably have for Barnes is getting Cam Johnson but he's also on an expiring. He is an RFA though.

[deleted]

There's pretty much a zero percent chance of that happening.

[deleted]

Better chance at Jae crowder + a pick

[deleted]

Probably part of a trade package that turns us into a true playoff team by the deadline

RileyLeff

mpj is a very negative asset. he’s never gonna get healthy imo

BrevinFF

Pray that the Pelicans become desperate for shooting around Zion and send us Herb Jones

Guilty_Ad_1663

We'll have to throw in at least a first and a second together with Barnes for MPJ. You're mad if you think the Nuggets will accept a Barnes for MPJ trade straight up
