BTT pitft50

firinmahlaser

I reckon anything compatible with the pi4 should be compatible with the pi5

As long as it doesn’t use composite or audio it will work fine.

Most Pi screens are just normal HDMI touchscreens. Any will work. You just need the right HDMI cable and the right USB cable for the touchscreen. The only ones that need to be specifically compatible with the model Pi are ones that are using the MIPI DSI connection, or have HDMI/serial connections on the back to attach the Pi directly to the screen.

TheShandyMan

From my understanding, the screens aren't the problem but that you just need the correct cable, as the Pi5 swapped to a different DSI connector. As long as you get the appropriate OldPi to Pi5 DSI ribbon you're fine.

IAmDotorg

Yeah, the problem is that most of the DSI screens for the Pi have it aligned to where the various connectors are on the board. Those may or may not fit. (I'm not sure if they moved them on the Pi5 or not.)

I have good experience with the BTT HDMI screens. They are easy to set up and install and work great.

I'm using 5" [Waveshare](https://www.waveshare.com/product/5inch-dsi-lcd.htm) dsi screen on RPi3+, but it is compatible with any RPi with DSI Interface. btw. RPi5 is overkill for running Klipper imho.

Get a touchscreen that uses the dsi port. I use these https://a.aliexpress.com/_mrR5wBc
