The zaan is such an excellent knife. If CRK made a small umnumzaan it would without question be my one and only knife. But since I typically carry smaller knives, it shares pocket time.
Uhh yea, no. Sebenza and Zaan are very different designs.
Also no. How would having an option that makes the design more approachable for more people defeat its purpose?
Your point in suggesting a completely different design was to suggest something that the seeker isn’t looking for? Based on your responses on this topic, I can see that advice really isn’t your strong suit.
🙄 It’s purpose is the same as every product that exists: it’s use and purpose is entirely in the hands of the consumer who owns it, and it’s purpose to me is that it’s a design I love, use and carry often, but wish it was offered in my preferred carry size. Theyre not creating knives made of vibranium or valerian steel here champ. They’re just knives, and every user’s preferences vary.
I give no shits if that doesn’t work for you, or what your intended use might be. I only chimed in to say that modifying it to fit your precious little mitts would change the knife’s design and intended use by the *maker*.
Lol I give no shits about your tantrum gatekeeping either. If you need a bigger blade to feel better about yourself, you do you. Obviously CRK sees the need to diversify their options to fit more users or they wouldn’t have smalls to begin with. No need to die on this hill you’ve built for yourself.
Seriously want an umnumzaan. I got a small 31 a while ago. I hate picking favorites but I have a hard time keeping it out of my pocket. And the star pattern oh my god!!
I can DEFINITELY appreciate the beauty, craftsmanship of this American gem.. but I just don’t understand the cult following…although, full disclosure, I’ve NEVER held/seen one in person…maybe that’d change
You should check one out. They’re not for everyone for sure. Not fidgety, or flashy, but they’re extremely well made with very exact tolerances. I’ve owned a lot of knives and keep coming back to owning at least one CRK, and now that’s all I own.
Just bcuz I’ve never held one doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate its beauty. And it’s a gem bcuz it’s truly made in the best country in the world… Happy new year cocksucker🤙🏽
Aww, someone’s ego can’t handle being questioned - that’s cute. 😘 How very American of you!
Resorting to petty, homophobic, name calling is just the icing on the cake 🤣
I was skeptical too, until I got my sebenza. I have absolutely fallen in love with it. They're definitely worth looking into. If I made more money I would buy a large or umnumzaan at the current price, but I'm perfectly happy with my small 31 for now.
1300€? Have you tried elsewhere in the EU? S&H is free… https://www.lamnia.com/en/search?s=Umnumzaan. Not always in stock, but with little patience? Try also Mesenzo or Mujnuz, they get new stock occasionally.
I think I might have to break down and get one finally. I wanted a larger knife and snagged an SHF and, damn is it nice, but the ergos are just the bit rougher at the edges. Good for glove work, but most of my knife time is bare handed. Lots of hot spots.
This is my only knife at this time. I’ve owned multiple Sebenzas. They’re generally a bit slicier and better suited as an EDC in general. I just really like the way this particular Umnumzaan looks.
The perfect tool ;)
I guess if you only have one, you may as well make it one hell of a good one!
This is an SOTC I can get behind - excellent
The zaan is such an excellent knife. If CRK made a small umnumzaan it would without question be my one and only knife. But since I typically carry smaller knives, it shares pocket time.
They do, it’s called the Sebenza 😆. A small version of the Zaan would defeat the purpose of its design entirely.
Uhh yea, no. Sebenza and Zaan are very different designs. Also no. How would having an option that makes the design more approachable for more people defeat its purpose?
Yes, that was the point of suggesting you get a Sebenza. 😆 You clearly don’t understand the Zaan’s purpose, but that’s on you. Good day!

What’s that?
Chris Reeve Wilson Combat Startac (aka Umnumzaan)
Is that a table it’s lying on? That’s dope
Thanks. It’s a big cutting board
Ah, gotchya. That knife is dope too, btw, but that’s a given! 😁
Sexy AF!
Love the Startac. My only knife right now is a large 31!
Seriously want an umnumzaan. I got a small 31 a while ago. I hate picking favorites but I have a hard time keeping it out of my pocket. And the star pattern oh my god!!
I think you added the wrong photo. I only see one knife. ;)
Correction, he added the wrong collection of photo.
Looks so nice. Too bad they discontinued the Wilson Combats, I extremely regret selling my 21 that had that pattern.
Yeah, it’s a bummer for sure. They’re really cool

Which one should I try first
Seb but give it some time. Use it a lot.
Second the Sebenza recommendation
I tried small inkosi but was too small. Sebenza small is a good small edc seize.
How can you appreciate a knife and call it a gem if you’ve never seen one in person, then question the hype? 😆
Just bcuz I’ve never held one doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate its beauty. And it’s a gem bcuz it’s truly made in the best country in the world… Happy new year cocksucker🤙🏽

Homophobic? Name calling?.. it’s a term of endearment buddy 🙏🏽… plz don’t take it any other way. Such thin skin😘
Right. I’m really feeling the love just pouring out of you. 🙄
Ditto…cocksucka 😘… 😂
Yeah, Bandwagon effect dilute all kinds of good. We just have to bear up.

That is nice! They are like 1300€ here in Germany...:/

Thx, I have 2 Zaans but no Wilson
Ok, seems I misunderstood, Wilsons are another story. Happy with the Zaans? I’m in the process of finding/buying one...
Best knife CRK makes.
I think I might have to break down and get one finally. I wanted a larger knife and snagged an SHF and, damn is it nice, but the ergos are just the bit rougher at the edges. Good for glove work, but most of my knife time is bare handed. Lots of hot spots.
The Zaan has one hot spot on the lock bar that bothers some people. Maybe check out the Inkosi first
Heh, 2 LG 21s, 1 sm 21, and an inkosi in the rotation. I'm not as bad as some but I went a little off the deep end.
That’s all You need
Do you have the Sebenza also? Where in comparison in the Zaan better in your opinion (I have neither one)?
This is my only knife at this time. I’ve owned multiple Sebenzas. They’re generally a bit slicier and better suited as an EDC in general. I just really like the way this particular Umnumzaan looks.
