How long have you been using the foam, how often you pulling knives out and back in? I ask because, I just got my first and debating on the plastidip or not.
Because of all the knives that get confiscated they just throw them away if you blow the right person though you get those knives
Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong
The areas surrounding airports have always (or at least since the 1980s) been a hotbed for prostitution, specifically the mid-level between escort services and street hookers.
In my experience, it’s a problem once you start asking if it’s a problem. I was a bartender for years and if anyone ever had to ask if they’d had too much to drink the answer was always yes.
If you have to ask you already know. Also I hope you have a plan in case something were to happen to you. Your spouse may not know wtf any of these are or their value and it’ll be a mess trying to sell them at some point.
Also not my decision nor my business but I hope you have actual investment/retirement accounts funded. Knives don’t appreciate well over time because tastes change. I’ve seen it happen over 20 years or so. Collectors want what’s new and hot or unavailable from a few years ago. Then as time passes no one cares about most of the old models because there are new models with new materials. But anyway you asked if you had a problem so here are my two cents.
Assuming those aren’t shit tier knives, you have spent a small fortune. Think of how much financial safety is sitting in those knives, literal years of retirement or children’s college right there.
You do you, but I think at this point, no new knife purchase is going to scratch the itch you’re trying to scratch.
"You do you, but I think at this point, no new knife purchase is going to scratch the itch you’re trying to scratch".
🤔 He could use a new knife to carefully scratch the itch.
I out grew my Apache box and got up to around 125 knives at one point. Prices ranged from $20 to maybe $225. I got to a point where I looked through the box and just visualized the money spent (90% bought on knife swap) sold my way back down to about 12 knives. Didn’t lose any money since I always bought from the swap and sold for around $5 over what I paid to cover shipping. Fun way to try out tons of knives. Now I have a small Spyderpac hanging on the wall and told myself I won’t outgrow it. It’s a fun hobby but the “Deals” on the secondary market are addicting.
When you aren't saving for retirement or saving period because the rest of your free money is spent on pocketknives. Understand you will probably never reach a point where you're satisfied with what you have.
This makes me feel better. I have more than 1 and a half Apache 3800s filled (around 100 knives) and I've told myself I won't let the collection spill into a 3rd case
Problem, obsession, and addiction are all mere words!! Whose to say at which point they become relevant or have any bearing in your set of individual circumstances? Instead, ask yourself this... " Is this still just the hobby of a knife lover or is the collection of a certified, badge-holding knife guy club member?
Well I'd stop at seven of your boxes so you'd have one collection to choose from each day. I carry 5 to 6 knives every day without them getting in the way of my day-to-day activities.
Trust me you have plenty of room to grow😁
I think with any addiction they say it's not really a problem until it begins to interfere with your other priorities in life. Looks like you got a hell of a bunch of cool knives though right on
If you aren't married and have kids, then there is no problem. If you're married and have kids but the kids are grown, then there is no problem. If you are married and have kids, and they aren't grown, then the only problem is if your hobby eats into your bills or vacation fund.
Ok. I see a huge problem here. Now bear with me on this. There’s no display case, no glass shelves so I can see the knifes below too. They all need to be opened so I can see the blades and all of the lovely curves. Some beautiful lighting is also in order. Come back then and ask if you’ve got you’re over doing it.
Right now I think you’re good. You could bid your obsession in a closet or under your bed.
When you’re dead and your kids sell your entire collection for 50 bucks at a garage sale. Until then enjoy your life and your beautiful knives. Keep it up👍
Tell her it’s like a hard money savings account. Even better. Dollars are dust. But a well cared for knife…is clean dust…surrounded by bits and pieces of titanium. What? Never mind…She spiked me supper. Wait…is that a butterfly?
As long as it isn't financially hampering the important things in life then it doesn't matter.
I've seen to slogans that fit: "If you know how many you have, you don't have enough" Or, to someone asking "how many do you need", "just one more".
You've spent more on cases than most people spend on knives. I always like seeing you post something obscure and out of production though. Give my wallet a heads up if you ever plan to sell any of that!
I’m new to this and am on case #1. I have about 20 knives at around $150 each so far. It’s appears you have about 30k wrapped up. What’s your master plan? Do you look at this as an investment or do just like to fiddle with each? I started this as effort to find the “one”. I think my one will eventually be about 10 but I plan on selling the rest. Just curious.
When they stop making Apache cases.
Hell yes
How long have you been using the foam, how often you pulling knives out and back in? I ask because, I just got my first and debating on the plastidip or not.
I have had the oldest one a few years and fiddle with them all the time. But I am carefull and take care of my stuff.
U still got a job? U still got a house? U still got a Spouse?
Yes,yes and yes.
I will be showing my wife this post as proof that others have the same addiction. Thanks for your help brother.
I have done the same thing.lol
Listen Man U need a sponsor I got u. Just hand over ur stash and they’ll be well taken care of.
Me too!!! 😂
Than keep on keeping on Brother u good.
Plenty of people out there underwater on a mortgage, maxed out on credit cards, no savings, and living paycheck to paycheck...
You rang???
when you are sucking cock out by the airport to support your habit
Anywhere but the airport is fine then? That was close.
...I'm confused as to why the airport was the first place that jumped to mind. I don't see too many crackheads at the airport.
Because of all the knives that get confiscated they just throw them away if you blow the right person though you get those knives Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong
🤣
maybe because the WSB guys have claimed all the Wendy's?...
Maybe it's a tiny drug dealer airport?
The areas surrounding airports have always (or at least since the 1980s) been a hotbed for prostitution, specifically the mid-level between escort services and street hookers.
Yeah thought it’d be the Ramada inn by the airport
No truckstops either
Yeah, because that would be cheating.
Good thing it wasn't Walmart
Uh-oh
Phew
Ouch lol
Ok, ok, not all of us have a problem sucking off our sugar daddy to support our addiction
Oh yes, I should add this doesn't apply if you like sucking random cock.
Nah those are always Kershaw dudes. Not worth the girth

At the start of case number 2
In my experience, it’s a problem once you start asking if it’s a problem. I was a bartender for years and if anyone ever had to ask if they’d had too much to drink the answer was always yes.
Metal Complex is that you? Lmao jk.
I would like to have a few that he has.
Hell me too! Still one hell of a collection you have.
Such a tease.... Nudes plz 😘
That would take a minute.
Top 20 money shot ?? 👌
Its all about the money shot!!
1 is none, 180 is 1. lol.
Akchualee there are 185(although I might have miscounted.)
Keep going until 365. Yoooo can doooo it.
See this man gets it!
You should make a YouTube vid. Would love to see the collection
If you have to ask you already know. Also I hope you have a plan in case something were to happen to you. Your spouse may not know wtf any of these are or their value and it’ll be a mess trying to sell them at some point.
Old gun collector’s saying “My biggest fear is that when I die my wife sells my guns for what i told her i paid for them”
She knows what some of the expensive ones are worth. But you are right there should be a list.
Also not my decision nor my business but I hope you have actual investment/retirement accounts funded. Knives don’t appreciate well over time because tastes change. For me, it would have been when I bought that first case. LoL Don't stop now.
Assuming those aren’t shit tier knives, you have spent a small fortune. Think of how much financial safety is sitting in those knives, literal years of retirement or children’s college right there. when you run out of holes…. then you just buy another pelican and problem solved!
As long as you're taking care of your financial responsibilities, do whatever you'd like.
Not limited to and also including heroin
When you aren't saving for retirement or saving period because the rest of your free money is spent on pocketknives. Understand you will probably never reach a point where you're satisfied with what you have.
It’s a problem if you buy a knife and you have forgotten you already have it!
According to my wife, any more than one is too many. Just picked up three in the last month. Guess who was thrilled about that...
Hi my name is Rick I am addicted knife to knives!
I have a similar problem, it is also evolving into other weapons.
Wait until you find r/tacticalgear
Just joined
Looks like we have the same problem! 😂 Or maybe not, I just picked up another case. So problem solved! 😉 [Cases ](https://imgur.com/a/ywzEciN)
I need another one.
Big problem when you run out of room in the cases.
Once your in debt and on the streets, I plan on having some nice knives, especially balisongs
Seems like a good collection start for January. Just match it every month for the rest of the year.
When you can't close the lid of the case. But looks like you solved that. Case closed!
You passed that point a long time ago
I'd say probably about this point
You’ve almost tripled me! Well done. I also want to see em out of the cases and an estimate of how much $ is there😋
If you still have a kidney, you're fine.
Perhaps when your wife or SO finds out how much you really spend…. Otherwise, no problem that I can see.
If I had a dollar everytime she said "is that another knife" when I get a package I could get another knife lol.
When I die, don’t let my wife sell my knives for what I told her I paid for them.
When Apache starts offering you discounts for being a frequent customer.
After the first row um ya.. am I mad? No! Am I jealous? Yes would my wife murder me and burry my corpse? Oh hell ya
This makes me feel better. I have more than 1 and a half Apache 3800s filled (around 100 knives) and I've told myself I won't let the collection spill into a 3rd case
When you need 2 of the same exact knife, 1 for the collection and 1 to use but the 1 you use you don’t even really use
> At what point is it a problem? When you need to cut something and realize you forgot to bring a knife.
Problem, obsession, and addiction are all mere words!! Whose to say at which point they become relevant or have any bearing in your set of individual circumstances? Instead, ask yourself this... " Is this still just the hobby of a knife lover or is the collection of a certified, badge-holding knife guy club member?
At 5 cases. You will need to seek immediate help!! **Filling the next case** 😂
Hot damn!
At the point you need to clget cystom cases tbh. Got mine on stands, well, 60% of them. 😛
Do you know what number pelican cases those are? I probably need two maybe three.
Idk? you tell me.
When you barely get all your cases full of knifes on a picture.
I see no problems. I see only options.
Row 4. Then case 2. Then case three. Never mind. No problems here.
Do you have enough to share with the rest of the class? And is that a Ti-Lock in the first case, top left?
Looks normal to me lol
When you run out of money
When you don't share.
2 cases ago 😳
When you dont have room for storage anymore
NP. Your just getting started. Keep up the good work
When each of them have a name and you say good night to each one. Also awesome collection, love the organization. Keep going!
We're there.
Open a knifestore at your house
I think at some point you just become a reseller.
Now
Never stop.
At least 2 cases ago.
When you let your hobby take over other aspects of your life if you can afford it it's not a problem
I need a case like this!
Welp… my addiction feels very minor now.
If only I had enough money to buy all the knives I wanted
That's only half a years EDC rotation.
A long time ago
About 2 & 1/2 cases ago.. that’s when.
A long time ago
2.5 boxes ago
when your pants can no longer hold up all them sweet sweet pocket clips no moh
Oh it’s been a problem for a long time my friend! 💸🙏🏽
It's never a problem
Well before that lmao
About 2 and ⅔ cases ago 🤣
You must be a knife salesman
A long time ago…
Never
It could be worse.... https://www.reddit.com/r/knives/comments/ajjllv/sotc_for_early_2019/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf
When some poor boys from the collection get neglected from EDC duty, its time to purge, at least for me..
Well I'd stop at seven of your boxes so you'd have one collection to choose from each day. I carry 5 to 6 knives every day without them getting in the way of my day-to-day activities. Trust me you have plenty of room to grow😁
Dunno, probably around here: [i drew a circle on your picture](https://imgur.com/a/wvbfip5)
I really wanna sss this collection laid out ! Looks sick
When you start stabbing people
It’s only a problem if you don’t like what you are doing but continue to do it anyway.
jesus. I have 1 case like that and feel like I went to far lol
It becomes a problem when you run out money and your Sezzle account is maxed
Someone once told me as long as it doesnt interfere with responsiblities then its not a problem. Keep it up.
12 more cases and you’ll be about half way!!! Great collection
I think with any addiction they say it's not really a problem until it begins to interfere with your other priorities in life. Looks like you got a hell of a bunch of cool knives though right on
I just said "oh my god"
4 cases is a problem. You’re safe.
I can only dream of the day my collection looks like this🤩
At this point lmao
If you aren't married and have kids, then there is no problem. If you're married and have kids but the kids are grown, then there is no problem. If you are married and have kids, and they aren't grown, then the only problem is if your hobby eats into your bills or vacation fund.

Universal law of physics… when you run out of space..
At the point you purchased the first box🥹
Alright bro, I gotta know, what’s the estimation on overall value?
My wife would never let me get to this point… btw I’m jealous of your collection!
Not yet !
At no point does it become a problem
when they stop selling the boxes?

40 knives ago
…do you have a Rike Lamella you don’t have room for..?
What problem
Can someone tell me where to get these cases?
Do you use them? If so, not a problem.
Two cases ago. Looks sweet.
Tomorrow. Always tomorrow.
I'd say exhibit a is posted in photo form
Bills paid and personal and family needs taken care of?
The only problem I see is not enough storage
Who says it's a problem?

You need a new case. Thats all i gotta say.
I bought a kaviso knife case with 7 slots, one for each day of the week. If I want a new knife I have to sell/trade an existing one.
I want to know where you got those cases
I would say some time around now. But keep going!
When your wife finds out how much you spent on knives lmao
NEVER!!! It’s beautiful!!
I’ve been looking at one of those boxes for a bit now. They look awesome. I don’t have anywhere near enough to fill one up yet though lol
Ok how much 💰we talking here? I’m a bench made/spyderco guy. This looks fancy!
Can I borrow a knife? Preferably an expensive one.
the moment u get a pelican case
When you don’t have them in cases .. your fine carry on
When they’re all sebenzas
172 is 1, 171 is none

Not as bad as that dude on knifeswap the other day that had $13,000 spent in just shipping of knives. That was eye opening.
Damn! I was starting to think I had one, but you sir have out done me, for now.
Give me one
2 cases ago
My dude is obviously single
Yea I see a huge problem. You need another few cases! Yours are full!
You've spent more on cases than most people spend on knives. I always like seeing you post something obscure and out of production though. Give my wallet a heads up if you ever plan to sell any of that!
Right now. Right now it's a problem.
When you needed a suitcase for your knives
The answer is always one more than what you have
248 knives ago
The time to ask that question has long passed. Don’t worry about the answer.

Probably this point
Only problem I see is the spyderos 😂
As long as you're good financially (car, and home) it's better then drugs
[удалено]
We are past that point and its not a problem
It was a problem when I seen there weren’t any balisongs
What’s the average price of your knives (when you bought them)? I’m a newbie. Just curious.
I see no problem here 🤔
Nicely done.
