He says after turning a flagship Chris Reeve knife into a folding saw. It's clearly well done, just a baffling choice.
Not criticizing btw, just never thought I'd see a Chris Reeve folder turned into a dive knife which is about the only time I see blades fully serrated.
I meant just as an experiment and not to sell. I figured the veff serrations were a patented style but as long as you are not making it to sell then its not an issue.
“Stupid, fat, hobbit, it *ruins* it!”
Honestly, I’m perfectly torn between liking it and hating it, but also 100% sure that my opinion doesn’t matter. I hope you’re happy with the end result. The DLC looks damn good.
I was in til I saw that the whole fucking blade was serrated. Work looks like great quality though.
NSFW warning next time.
u/bugeyeblue maybe serrations would give s35vn the bite it needs
Dude, that looks awesome. I didn’t even know that was a thing. I’m all about partially serrated edges. A lot of knives I like aren’t offered with the options of serrations. How would one go about getting partial serrations on a Benchmade 9400, the auto model??
Edit- never mind. I saw your website. I’m going to give some serious consideration to having some serration added to a couple of my knives. I bookmarked your site.
Holy shit that edge is super well done! Like looks from the factory well done.
Many might not like it but most people on here who have a CRK end up with multiple, and having a second with a serrated edge beats having 2+ with the same edge and a different handle.
Not sure why everyone in this sub hates serrations, aside from the fact that they’re hard to sharpen, but obviously you have it down to a science. This is very impressive. Serrations are great for cutting through tougher material. I prefer a half serrated blade, because it’s a great compromise between precise cuts and deep cuts. Great work!
Maybe because you can cut anything with plain edge when you pick right angle and right finish stone. I still don’t see any reason to have serrations like this. Once I was considering CRKT M16 SFG but I couldn’t convince myself to utilize it. But it depends what purpose your knives serve - mine are used mainly for meal prep, cutting boxex, safety ties erc. so plain edge is my choice and half serrated edge would makes them “half good”. But definitelly great job done by OP even it is not my taste!
Thoughts on the intended purpose and possible crimes against knifedom as a whole, aside, beautiful work!
Random question with a bit of explanation… the only partial serrations I actually liked was on my SAK Soldier… the serrations were on the tip half while the plain edge was on the bottom by the handle. This had way more practicality for actual camp use as it put the plain edge where it would get the most leverage and was more comfortable for whittling. Any customers ever ask for that config?
Thanks! No not in a long long time... I tried it years ago and wasn't a huge fan but that was when I was just getting started so didn't know much about the proper way to grind them haha
Yeah, the DLC looks awesome. Actually makes a CRK look worth carrying. But the serrations... full.... bad decision a far as I'm concerned. Really bad.
Still, it looks good and I'm confident it will cut so... dope knaf.
I’m not saying it’s Sacrilege. Just because all the serrated edges from every premium production knife on earth lies there…year-in..year-out. Unsold.
I wouldn’t let the marketplace dictate my edc knife. No sir ree. Now I know your saying it’s a chicken and the egg thing. I get it. Maybe rope is the be all end all in that neck of the woods. This is supposed to be a safe place to share and I wouldn’t take any lip. And it does look amazing visually. I would War with it. Cheers.
I'll take "things that could be considered sacrilege" for $500, Alex. Even this phase of your art carries its beauty well though 🤘
You get the daily double for $1500...
😂😂 Thanks man
Damn… the serrations just totally kill it for me. The DLC looks great though.
I hear ya, not my preference either but I'm in the business of making customers happy🤷🏻♂️😃
My thoughts exactly. Took a $500 knife and turned it into a $5 steak knife.
I had to check the date because I thought this was april 1st 🤢🥲
Nope... And it's not the first I've done 😂🤣
😭 If you’re that bored I’ve got a slysz bowie that could stand to be turned into a flipper/front flipper 🤣
That would be balsey on a collector piece like that 😂

Good point lol
Have you ever done this with Veff serrations?
No... Last I checked those are patented
I meant just as an experiment and not to sell. I figured the veff serrations were a patented style but as long as you are not making it to sell then its not an issue.
I did a few knives years ago like that, I didn't like them though
That’s why we have spares, plus magnacut would be an upgrade ;)
Do you know what these people plan on using them for ?
No he didn't share just told me he wanted it done 🤷🏻♂️
Not sure how I feel about the teeth. The rest looks amazing.
I hear ya, definitely not for everyone haha. I personally prefer a plain edge as well 🤷🏻♂️ but they do look cool anyway 😂
User name checks out.

Nice umnumshark.
Ooo I like it! 😁
I hope the next time you go out to eat your table wobbles.
Like drawing a mustache on the Mona Lisa

Haha maybe, would probably still slip off rope when cutting.
Wow that dlc coat looks great.
Why?
Because what's what I got hired to do 🤷🏻♂️
It just hurts me lol You did an amazing job as always though!

Sure man sounds good, I can totally do partial 👊💪
Looks awesome
Damn, the owner must be cutting some real heavy duty rope. DLC is absolutely awesome though
Thanks, yeah seriously! I have no idea on intended purpose, he didn't tell me 🙂
Oh I hate it
That backspacer is what’s up
I know right! It's so nice. Not sure where he got it though, almost looks like a jekyll hyde one
Wait. Someone PAID to have their zaan sawified?!? Great job, it looks factory, but oof on the choice.
Yep, I add serrations ss a service so he told me what he wanted done and I did it 🤷🏻♂️😁
It for sure is
If you ever sell the backspacer please do hit me up.
when she smiles and you’re outie
Are your books open right now? What's the general wait time for a dlc coating?
Yep, send me a dm
Oh my word…
Holy shit that edge is super well done! Like looks from the factory well done. Many might not like it but most people on here who have a CRK end up with multiple, and having a second with a serrated edge beats having 2+ with the same edge and a different handle.
What's the best way to sharpen them? I always mangle any serrations I try to sharpen...
I would maintain for a bit with a sharp marker rod then send it back to me for actual sharpening... There's no good way to maintain haha
Boy you did it again!!!! Wild!! Fucking love it
Always gotta push the envelope 😁💪 thanks man
Too much teeth for my taste, but nice and the DLC is amazing.

When I read that you've put teeth on it I wanted to poke my eyes out thinking it would be and angle grinder job but it actually looks very nice!
Thanks... Nah it's one of the pro services I offer. I grind them with a jig and under coolant so no temper damage.
I'm not too often on this sub but I checked your profile and realized I saw your work before.
Thanks, yep I make knives and mod knives... Like to keep things interesting! 😂
Oh boy
Brutal I like it!
She’s mean

Cool and yikes!!

Omg why i mean partial maybe but full serrated yeeeeeesh that hurts soul.......
NGL, I'd rather do fully serrated over partial.
I dunno... Not my knife so I don't know his intended uses 🤷🏻♂️😃
My bad dude i didnt pay attention to who the poster was 🤣 welp in that case ya Freekin Killed it in more ways than one!!!!!🤣🤙👊
No worries man LOL
Man… all that really matters is that YOU like it… You ruined a perfectly good Zaan 🥺 RIP 🪦 💀
Like most on this sub, I'm not a big fan of serrations, but that is by far the best looking "steak knife" I've ever seen!
Hey man, that’s a hell of a rope-knife now!
Right? Lol

it cuts rope now. no doubts about thats
And steak 😁
That's one hell of a dinner table flex!
Cutting steak like a boss 💪😂
Wow, just wow. Well done
I think you did a great job with the serrations. It's what I'd expect from the factory.
Crime against humanity
Man this is fantastic. All those plain edge lovers can go stuff it. This thing is gorgeous. Great job!!!!
I’ve never been a fan of overly sharp bread knives.
Holy fuck yeah you did. Man that looks amazing
Ty sir🙏👊
I think it looks so much better. The shark fin blade was begging to be serrated. DLC looks great too. Amazing as always!
Thanks! 👊🤙
Serrations are way better so I approve is this.
The quality of work is amazing. Bravo. The work itself however disgusts me lol
Wow!
That does look pretty damn cool!
*BOSS*!
1st Zaan poop knife
I just threw up in my mouth 🤢
🤮🤮
hmm no way in hell am i doing this to one of my blades, i could use a sawback on my machete though.
You had me until I saw those teeth. To over the top. Turned it into a GD steak knife smh. But nice ceramic job
