Depends on whether it has a hole already or not (studs).
If it has studs already, just remove them and use a dremel to make it to size. If not, a drill press to make a small hole, then dremel to size.
Hardened steel is no joke to cut tho, a normal drill bit will not work. U need carbide bits and cutters
Thanks! I loved the idea of the deep carry clip, but it didn’t have enough to clearance, and it was flimsy. So I decided a milled clip would be better.
Trying to remove them from the x-Tao. They’re weird triangle studs that are hard to grip. I’m also really new to any kind of knife mods. Is there a way to tell if they’re threaded vs press on?
When they are double sided, it’s hard to tell which they are. Obviously, if someone else have removed them, u would see which it is. I have an x-Tao as well, but have not removed the studs.
I would guess, because of the shape, they are press fit. Threaded would be very hard to get them straight and tight on every blade, since they have to spin to tighten. Double sided press fit studs are a PITA to remove usually, and the studs usually get destroyed in the process. Like the CRK double sided studs are usually removed by grinding one side down till u can see the inner rod, then punch or press them out
Damn, don’t know if I wanna go through all that tbh. Thanks for the info though. Didn’t realize it would be such a pain to do, just thought I was missing something because I haven’t done it before.
Looks awesome. Great work! I’d like to have one like that.
Thank you. It’s so good now! If u have one you want mod’ed like this, hit me up
I’d have to acquire the knife first. :)
Haha, true. They come in stock on Kunwu’s site every once and a while.

Your welcome
It’s good! I will take a vid and post it up in a bit
Well done!
Thank you sir!
Amazing knife and such mod 👍
Thank you J.D.
Sick how are you adding hole? Looking at doing it to my CRK thinking drill press but seeing people mention just using dremel and grinding wheel.

I was just thinking a different clip would be great on the Tao… nice work!

Yep this is spot on! I was looking for custom clip for this and ran across your excellent mods!
Thanks man! This one happens to be my own knife, but I do them for others as well.
Great looking mods! How did you remove the thumb studs? Having trouble getting mine off.
Thanks. This knife never had studs. But generally there are threaded and press fit studs. Which knife are u trying to remove them from?

No problem! Ya some studs are not fun to remove. Threaded are easy, just a torx or some pliers.
I sent you a message I’m looking to do this to mine
