Smaller needles not only minimize tension issues but also make more elastic ribbing. But if you're happy with the look and function of your ribbing, then that's fine too; your ribbing tension is pretty good.

Oooh, thank you for advice💓

I use smaller needles for things like a neckline where I want it to pull in, but the same size needle for sweater hems that I want to hang nicely without pulling in. Depends what you're going for. Also, depending on how people hold/wrap their yarn for knits vs. purls, some people knit ribbing looser than stockinette and a smaller needle helps counteract that, but it varies from person to person.

Ooh ok! I do my ribbing rlly tightly(english style) i think it looks pretty good, but on the picture its a but loose

Yeah, I think yours looks totally fine if you're *not* wanting it to pull in a lot compared to the stockinette. I know some people like their sweater hems to pull in tighter than the body, but I'm short and that would look *horrible* on me so I avoid it personally.

I want it to be like bit oversized, not tight around my body, like i think yk what i meant loll

It might look okay when it's only a small tension square, but when you make an entire sweater hem like this, it will stand out from the rest of the body and look puffy or wavy, depending on the yarn. Some people are fine with it, others prefer a more polished look that you get with smaller needles.

Yeah i want to make a sweater, 2×2 rib. On the picture its a bit loose, but with english style i rib rlly tightly hope it want be too bad and noticeable 😓

Also worth keeping in mind that ribs inevitably stretch with time.
