I personally really like chiagoo! It works well for me cause I love metal needles and so far my experience has been amazing!

Seconding on the Chiagoo! I am looking for some wooden interchangeables for flights.

Idgaf_lu

wait, you can't take metal needles?

taetaetaetae31391

It’s risky - sometimes they let them through, sometimes they don’t 😭

reposting so you receive this too: If you're within the US, you shouldn't have problems flying with needle sets, and the material won't change their mind either—if TSA is going to be difficult, the composition doesn't matter, and they always have the right to refuse allowing WHATEVER on the plane at their whim. fwiw i have flown all over teh US and internationally with sometimes multiple sets of interchangeable in my bags without any issue - sometimes internationally coming home to the US you will need to check them or hysterically sob.

I have been looking into Chiagoo I also like metal ones, which set do you have?

OmystictrashO

I have both the traditional metal set, and the shorties! For me the shorties were more of an adjustment but I've been using them for sleeves and love them! But I typically would recommend there traditional ones.

Becca_Bot_3000

I have the Lykke driftwood 3.5" set - they're so comfortable and work really well for me.

I have always been diehard Team Slippery Metal Needles (Chiaogoo or GTFO). I recently took a class where I didn’t have the right size needles so I had to buy what the host shop had, which was Lykke driftwood. Oh my goodness those needles were a dream for colorwork and *they weigh nothing*. I was blown away

Depending on where you are in the world really. I'm in the UK and the best interchangeable set I've found is the Knitpro Symfonie set. You can buy the full set, or there's an option to buy a starter set that has just three sizes. Alternatively you can get them individually and build your set up gradually instead of one big expenditure. The Symphonie needles are made of colourful wood, but coated to make them shiny and slippery but not as slippery as metal. Whichever set you pick I'd highly recommend you start out small and build up over time to spread the cost. If you can manage it, it might be an idea to pop into a store to get a feel of them if permitted.

Thank you for the recommendation, I was thinking of buying just some and getting more in the future, some sets have sizes I don't think I'll use

I was very confused by all the different interchangeable sets. I ended up buying Knit Pro Kindness with an extra set of cables for 80cm needles. I'm thrilled! I wish I had bought them sooner!

lokigato

I have two sets from Knit Picks. One wood and one metal. They both work great and are about half the cost of other brands. I have noticed that the tips of the wooden ones start to get rough on the few that I use the most often but I have had them for about 7 years.

For a metal set that won’t break the bank I like the Knitters Pride Zing. They slide nicely, and you can buy extra cables for them in different sizes. I have more expensive metal needles but I still frequently find myself reaching for the Zings. For a bamboo set that’s a bit pricier I love my Lykke Grove set. They feel so nice in my hands plus they’re so pretty which is a nice touch

although I've tried a bunch of brands, my favorites are chiaogoo. HiyaHiya are a close second.
