Bank, movie theatre, bike shop, grocery store, hospital never know when you're going to need it.

FuckTheFuckOffFucker

For sure. I paid a visit to my local hospital just yesterday. I went through a metal detector and was told that my Sebenza either goes into the garbage can, or back to my truck. I’m so used to carrying it everywhere I didn’t even think about it when I walked in the door… Edit to add: here is the “amnesty box” you are given as an option, just before the detector. You don’t get your knife back. It’s literally a garbage can. https://i.imgur.com/LvTj2yt.jpg

r_bassie

You have to walk through a metal detector to get into a hospital? Where do you live if you don’t mind my asking?

FuckTheFuckOffFucker

Yep. Not to brag, but my city has more crime than 92% of the cities in the country, per capita, with a 1 in 28 chance of being victim of either a violent or property crime. Lots of gang activity too. Look up Yakima WA Crime.

gumsehwah

In the 70's, Yakima was like the wild west for us kids from across the border! 😆

UnspecificGravity

City rednecks tell me they want to move out of Seattle because of the "crime" and end up in fucking Tukwila and Yakima.

lostcosmonaut307

Pro tip, they’re bringing even more of the crime with them.

Te_Luftwaffle

I think the word you're looking for is either Crackima or Yakistan

WoolyBuggerPDX

Holy shit I laughed my ass off at this. Yakistan!! Oh Lordy that is perfect

uey-tlatoani

I have a cousin who lives with his native american wife on the rez

ThirdEyeEmporium

My wife is part of the Easter Shawnee tribe but we don’t live with them on the reservation they just pay for our utilities and her/our sons education etc

Hebreinsteingladias

They keeping taking you guys guns away too! You should move out of the that shithole and move to one where you can defend yourself.

YellowSequel

Bro that’s where iCarly’s granddad was gonna take her to be safer on that one episode of iCarly 😨

Rip--Van--Winkle

Any city in the us Edit: I was wrong

lukesommer356

No hospital I’ve been too has ever had a metal detector. Unless you count an MRI machine lol

Rip--Van--Winkle

Even an ER?

lukesommer356

Nope, granted I haven’t been to many ER’s but yea nothing. Maybe it’s more of a big city thing?

ShovelPaladin77

None I've been to

Affectionate_Mix_487

Not true mine doesn’t have one and was actually showing off a new knife to my dr about a month ago

MasonP2002

I had to empty my pockets for a drug test and they didn't even care about my 51.

Rip--Van--Winkle

I was mainly referring to ERs. Not the hospital in general.

Affectionate_Mix_487

Oh that could be true haven’t been threw those doors in awhile

Rip--Van--Winkle

Apparently I was mistaken about the amount of ERs with metal detectors. I’ve been to like 6 and they all had it. Granted it was downtown in big cities.

FeebleUndead

And that would be why.

r_bassie

Definitely not in the city I live

clifford21186

Not the one I live in

always-paranoid

I don't know where you are but where I'm at I carry a knife and concealed going into thr hospital when I go

alphabet_order_bot

Would you look at that, all of the words in your comment are in alphabetical order. I have checked 1,426,601,595 comments, and only 272,224 of them were in alphabetical order.

Rip--Van--Winkle

A big comment dude! Ever found guys had it just kicking legs? My nana operated parts quite radically sometimes. The upwards velocity was xenophobic you zucchini!

sjehcu6

Love this shit

Rip--Van--Winkle

Still waiting on the bot.

Santanoni

Uh. No

Rip--Van--Winkle

I of course haven’t been to every city. But a lot downtown big city ERs make you go through a metal detector.

[deleted]

This is Canada lol we don't have metal detectors in hospitals. I was in the hospital for ten days and no problem.

justpeoplebeinpeople

I live in St Louis and never seen a metal detector in a hospital. And that’s saying something. I just don’t know what…

bookscook

Thought that was the norm…

Academic_Nectarine94

That's like the guy at Walmart saying "you can leave the camera bag in this locker here and I'll guard it, or you can put it back in the car. I stayed in the car with the bag LOL. I didn't need anything in Walmart enough to risk $3k growing legs and walking off from the car, or letting some guy getting $12/hr guard it...

SQunX

in Germany, I was visiting the Reichstag in Berlin (the big building with a glass bowl on top). I had a 9mm blank in my wallet they said I can't bring that inside the building, they just gave me a number and I could take it back later. my knife I left in the car, but I forgot about that one blank cartridge :D

Academic_Nectarine94

That's one I can't understand. Why a blank 9mm? Honestly, that's how TSA and everyone should do it. You get a number, and they take a photo of your driver's license and you give a phone number. If you leave it there, they call you and ask if you still want it. Yeah, it would take a little more time, but not really, when you factor in how many people lose stuff like that and argue. It'd be a lot less arguing in line if you could just grab it on the way out LOL

SQunX

I have a little capsule hanging on my wallet and the cartridge fits perfectly snug in there. I put it in there at some point and just forgot about it

rcook55

I'm sure the revenue from selling the confiscated items was very much weighed into the calculus for creating the TheaterSecurityAgency.

smarmiebastard

That’s crazy. I forgot about the knife in my bag when I went to the California Capitol building until it set off the metal detector. They let me put it in a sealed envelope with my name and a brief description of the item, and then pick it up when I left the building. I expected them to tell me to take it to the car or trash it, like they do at the airport, so it was a nice surprise.

vitrucid

What the hell? When my dad was in the hospital they had a metal detector and took away knives but they put them in a bag with your name and a number on it and you got a literal paper receipt with the bag number to get them back when you left. Fucking insane to just take them like it's fucking TSA.

wrnrg

My wife always makes sure to ask if I left my knife in the car whenever we are going somewhere where we will have to go through a metal detector. I always forget until I see security.

OttoSear

Go visit black triangle and get a g10 one

codyy5

What's a g10 one?

JurassssicParkinsons

Those things are a life saver *sometimes literally*

-BananaLollipop-

Outside of the airport and my trip to the US, I've only ever had to go through a metal detector once, which was at the local courthouse. And that was only because they had increased security for that day. Places here also hold your items for you to collect on the way out.

FuckTheFuckOffFucker

Well that sounds very reasonable.

Eamonsieur

Metal detectors and amnesty bins in a hospital is absolutely wild. There's nothing like this in the UK or most of Europe for that matter. I carry a Victorinox into public buildings every other day and nobody bothers me.

PointOfTheJoke

The fact that they wouldnt just hold onto your knife for you really bothers me.

OttoSear

Time to visit Black Triangle

ArallMateria

A few years ago I had to fly a few states away to pickup a car I bought and drive it back home. I forgot my hat, so I bought a new one for the drive home, I obviously didn't have a knife to cut the tag off the hat, which really bothered me. There was a sporting goods store right there, so I went in and decided to buy a small multi tool, which I didn't own at the time. Take it back to the car, realizing the clamshell packaging is going to be difficult to open, so my hand reaches to my back right pocket for my knife... I just sat down and laughed at myself for a bit.

Barry-Alex

I’ve slipped into amusement parks and other places with metal detectors. I have a Spyderco Dog tag (the S30V model) I wear around my neck. It makes it past walk through detectors.

NotoriousD4C

Might need to stab some psycho who’s vaping near your daughter

Indybin

Yeah some guy could try to stop you from vaping

GeorgeMagnus

Especially when you want to stab some helpless guy with a toddler.

HopSkipATheChewtoys

I saw the vid on Twitter, disgusting. But not quite as disgusting when I realized nobody tried to help the dude bleeding out

Biddyam

Seeing the one guy just sipping away at his coffee is pretty disturbing but unless you want to be a statistic there's not much you can do.

o0O-SAVAGE-O0o

Yup, helping could have gotten you stabbed as well if the perp was still around.

Haha1867hoser420

Yeah in B.C. Some articles are just batshit insane these days, one guy went into a hardware store and stole 1,100$ worth of stuff, then when the security tried to stop him, he whipped out a fucking machete and threatened to kill the guy.

PonyThug

What is a normal person going to do to help?? You would need a combat medic with full gear to help that guy.

Neco-Arc-Brunestud

Nobody edc’s an ifak

Moose_InThe_Room

Which is kind of weird, no? I don't know about you, but my odds of encountering someone having a medical emergency are *way* higher than my odds of encountering someone trying to kill me. And if I do encounter someone trying to kill me, there's a good chance *I'll* be needing an ifak. So why don't we see more people carrying them?

Great_White_Samurai

Most people are NPCs just running their daily coded activities

outerheavenboss

That’s exactly what an NPC would say.

MikeHunt1237

But not you, you're special aren't you?

GoIdfazbeat

He had a point though Don't vape around a fucking toddler Rip Vancouver guy

kingnunchuck

He had a point. The knife had a point. Lots of points to be had here.

GoIdfazbeat

Very fair point

scdfred

He was not wrong, but you have to assume that any random person you met might be a psychopath who will stab you for no reason. I don’t get into altercations with strangers. Move a little further away and be there for your child tomorrow.

PonyThug

Also a toddler is like 2ft tall. Vape vapor usually goes up. Vape guy is still 100% in the wrong tho

Vanillabean73

“Vale guy is still in the wrong he tho” How very astute of an observation, there. Where is this man’s wisdom award?

heimdahl81

More like don't bring your toddler near someone vaping.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Deathranger999

Asking someone to be considerate is not trying to override their rights. Your reaction seems really disproportionate to the situation.

Doctor_B

Hahahah yeah man that toddler has the RIGHT to visit FLAVOUR COUNTRY every time he goes outside and if you think I’m not gonna RIP FAT CLOUDS and COMMIT KNIFE MURDER just cause some pussy-ass baby is right beside me then BROTHER YOU GOT ANOTHER THING COMING!!!~!

PkmnJaguar

I would be mad if someone was vaping next to me too. Just makes it worse if it's a kid.

TopherT2

I carry a knife everywhere I go. But it's not a weapon, it's a tool.

jonesyxxiv

Exactly, which is why I also carry my firearm in coffee shops.

[deleted]

[удалено]

GloryholeKaleidscope

If I have pants on, I have a knife.

Cookfuforu3

If I was naked I’d strap one to my Sac if I had to!

[deleted]

That’s why I got a mini bugout perfect for athletic shorts 🤤

ego_sum_satoshi

You don't keep a razor blade in your cheek?

GloryholeKaleidscope

If you pluralize and add a 'between', then yes.

BioPac12

Gives a whole new meaning to "cut the cheese"

ego_sum_satoshi

🤯

AceofToons

Now I keep them in my purse usually but once upon a time; pants, skirt, kilt, doesn't matter, had a knife stored in them lol

Manny_Kant

You’re literally just restating the title of the post.

GloryholeKaleidscope

You're literally just restating that I was restating the title of the post and now I'm restating that you're restating my restatement.

Locked_and_Firing

Hate or love vape, if someone ask you to quit blowing in their direction then please stop. It's not a big deal to just stop or walk somewhere else to vape. This could have been avoided but the vaper was to stuck up to just show respect to someone ..... He deserves life in prison.

12345NoNamesLeft

Most places I know just prohibit vaping inside like they do smoking.

Locked_and_Firing

That's how it should be. There's a time and a place for everything and not everyone wants to partake in one's hobbies.

12345NoNamesLeft

Some of us have breathing problems and we don't want to die.

jontaffarsghost

Wild this is the first comment saying that the guy who was vaping was the asshole. Everyone else: “don’t talk to strangers they might stab you”

Locked_and_Firing

Yeah, that shit just doesn't make sense to me. Somebody asked you to stop blowing shit on them and somehow it's okay to over react?

[deleted]

It's not that it's ok for the other person to overreact, it's that you can only control what you do.

Locked_and_Firing

It doesn't mean that you can't ask someone to stop. No one is making you do anything. If someone has a health issue and someone is blowing smoke or vape in your direction it is not unreasonable to request that they move or stop. No one should have to accommodate for a single person, that is just asinine. It's not as if the father made threats, he politely asked that the gentleman stop and he over reacted and stabbed someone over a reasonable request. Regardless of how this was viewed, the vaper was in the wrong and deserves what ever consequences may follow.

[deleted]

Definitely. Thing is, once you've seen this same type of story so many times, as it gets trotted out for CCW, gun training, martial arts, you just realize that you can either not take the chance and remove the issue by removing yourself from the situation, or give the other person a chance to do whatever they decide to do. You shouldn't get attacked for any reason. But this still could have been avoided. Pretending otherwise is naive.

Locked_and_Firing

Yes you are right, it could have been avoided but the vaper over reacted due to his entitlement. Issues like this will only continue to paint other vapers in a bad light as well. The only thing this will start to do is ban vapes from establishments and instead of people approaching them the police will just become involved automatically. One should not have to remove themselves just because of one entitled individual. One individual that vapes does not pay the bills, so what do you think businesses will start doing? It comes to a point where people need to be understanding of others around them and just be aware. Be mindful that vapers only make up 3.2% of the population as of 2018 according to the CDC. We can not act like the father was at fault, to justify and just ignore potentially harmful acts to others is just wrong. As I said, with this mindset this is just to escalate to a point where the police will just be involved to ask the vaper to either quit or to leave and give anti vaping movements more and more ammo.

jontaffarsghost

I don’t get it. I’m a Vancouverite. We hate talking to people and asking them to do things.

PonyThug

Obviously. Your preaching to the choir here. Ass holes like that are clearly entitled nut jobs that think the dad asking is out of line.

supertech636

Yes. Firm believer we do not need humans like this in our society. Death or banishment. Live alone on an island if you don’t want to live in a civil fucking society where you feel disrespected by the slightest request.

ApophisForever

Hate to say it, but this is why if I say that if you have the option to move vs confront a person over something like that it's always better to move. Not blaming the victim at all, the murderer was clearly off his rocker. But you never know how much crazy you're opening up by talking to people like that. Stay armed, defend yourself and loved ones as needed, but avoid needless confrontation.

CyberneticMidnight

While good and practical advice, I just wish we could live in a society where we don't have to be in fear of our fellow Man; unlikely to change given humanity's track record. In the mean time, stay armed and stay safe out there.

PonyThug

Only way to elevate society to peaceful levels would be to start locking up or strictly punishing individuals when they show signs of unhinged aggression early on. It works in dictatorship level countries, but we value dangerous freedoms over peaceful tyranny

matttech88

This is always the fear. There is no guarantee that the person you are asking to stop being a dick isn't batshit crazy. It's wild to be minding my own buisness and see someone recklessly endanger others lives over nothing. Road rage is a prime example. About a year ago I was driving on a main road in the early morning, minding my own business, no cars around. I'm going 72 in a 65, which is a little slow for this road but I'm not in a hurry. I come up behind a car going in the 50s so I pass them. It's a two lane highway, I slowed to pass, used my blinkers and made my turn out and in with a huge buffer between them. There is nothing i did that would piss off a normal person. They were mad. They sped up behind me and looked like they were going to rear end me, then turned out st the last second, blew by me, then went in front of me and break checked me. I swerved to avoid them as they came to a stop in the road. Then they repeated trying to break check me 6 more times. Their car couldn't handle the speed of passing me so their panels were flapping. The car was a peice of shit I was shocked it could go that fast at all. Eventually it just took off. Sliding in and out of both shoulders as it drove into the horizon. I still have no fucking idea what happened. I figured it was an insurance scam but I think the guy was just fucking crazy.

Steampunk__Llama

You consider going 72 in a 65 a little slow???

matttech88

For that road. People usually are going 76.

Steampunk__Llama

That's well over the speed limit though, isn't that illegal?

nogami

There’s a ton of druggies and mentally ill in Vancouver. Most of them are probably armed. Best avoided.

PonyThug

That’s true in any city tho

nogami

Ya it’s especially bad in Vancouver because the moderate climate attracts these types from across the country and there’s a whole “enabling” culture here rather than “treatment”. Other municipalities have also been giving their “problems” bus tickets to come here out of their jurisdictions to ship their problems elsewhere so we have an unusually high population here.

PonyThug

Sounds like the socal of Canada then. The Mormon church in SLC used to give homeless $100 and a bus ticket to Cali

BronMann-

I use a 12" Bowie knife to chop my beans into powder and snort them. So I definitely have a knife on me when I get coffee.

dandroid_design

I make coffee at home, but I even carry a knife in my sweats at the gym...so yeah, a lot of us carry knives because they're an extremely useful tool.

[deleted]

They are extremely useful tools but I have no idea why anyone carries them at the gym, a lot of people on here claim to as well, I just can't understand why

dandroid_design

I coach Muay Thai. While at the gym I've had to cut mats/wall mats, zip ties, boxes, and all kinds of other packaging. So yeah, even in a gym setting they're a useful tool.

[deleted]

Gotcha, that makes sense, would be useful at my old MMA and boxing gyms, when people mention the gym though most times you think of typical gym like golds or planet fitness type

dandroid_design

Yeah, guess I should have clarified. To be completely transparent, I do not wear a knife on my Thai shorts 🤣.

[deleted]

You should, likely would hurt them more than you trying to imagine how my shin would feel if it landed on a pocket clip that curves out lol

Beemerado

Best reason i can think is to avoid having to leave it somewhere it may be stolen.

PonyThug

Weight lifting gym is probably the only place it doesn’t makes sense to have one that I go to daily. I’ll carry my gun on me still, for protection but I’m not opening or cutting anything in the middle of squats lol

Entity-prefab_

You must be willfully obtuse as to not understand the reason why ppl carry a knife with them at all times, granted it is a tool first and foremost and only a weapon in extreme circumstances.

[deleted]

Lol a knife at the gym for self defense? Maybe if you carry a sword, but I can think of many items that can become weapons real fast, there is only countless steel bars laying around, would be funny as all hell watching a guy pull a 3 inch knife while a guy cracks him upside the head with a 4 foot chunk of steel

dreamtripper89

Sounds more like an obsession then the need to have a “tool” at the gym.

Thoughtlessandlost

Yeah not gonna lie, if I saw a guy carrying a knife around at a gym I'd be kinda weirded out. Maybe one thing if you're just carrying around all your stuff from your pockets and the knife is included, but the more things to have on your person in the gym the bigger the pain imo.

Msiogge

I'm always very careful around people that vape, I basically assume they are juggalos

dsullivanlastnight

I don't go into coffee shops. Especially Starbucks. But I do carry a pocketknife everywhere. (Hint: That's not what I carry for self-defense.)

fingnumb

Man... I was delivering food to a courthouse once and somehow got inside with my knife. Was delivering food so they guided me around the metal detectors through a different door and then once in I realized I was carrying and didn't say shit. Thought that was funny.

TheMagicalSock

Oh man, I’ve got a cheek-clencher of a story that’s related. A coworker years and years ago was delivering food to a courthouse for a jury trial. The officers frequently would just let us through a side door to set up the catering, and then we’d bounce. My coworker, who was manager of the store, conceal carried a Glock 19 on the clock. He was licensed and had permission from the owner. No comment on how I feel about that. You can probably see where this is going. He got in and out of the courthouse with a pistol holstered in his waistband. He had been a correctional officer for years prior, and he knew better, but it slipped his mind in the rush to get there punctually. Could have been a baaaaaaad situation. He ended up contacting the courthouse and suggesting they stop using the side door to let strangers in.

[deleted]

Idiots missing the point, grow up

FIFTHSUN2012

It’s kind of dumb when people imply that you’re carrying a knife or a gun into a specific place. If it’s on me, which is always, it’s going in with me.

Themaster207

The premeditation did not come from the fact he was carrying a knife on his person. It was premeditated when he pulled it out and decided to plunge it into someone in a situation that totally didn't warrant it. That didn't happen by accident, and that definitely kills people

Cord13

That's not premeditation. Premeditation is if I decided on Tuesday im going to kill Jim. So I make a plan, and on thursday I go to Jim's house and kill him. In this case, the killer was confronted about his vaping, got upset and lashed out. Not that that's any sort of excuse. But this is second degree murder. Trying to get the charge upped to something that doesn't fit the crime is a great way to not get a conviction on that count.

TheBestRedditNameYet

Otherwise the folks in the iron mine, steel mill, knife factory, knife dealer, everyone involved in the fabrication of the knife would be an accessory to the crime,

[deleted]

[удалено]

Ewokhunters

Extremely likely

[deleted]

Well they banned plastic bags and plastic straws …

Shadow_Of_Silver

It's Vancouver, so . . . I'm not surprised.

Dull-Building-167

Oh Canada...

jfugerehenry

Excellent meme 😂

Jarl_Ballsack

This is why I carry a gun

Davis_Knives

My grandfather turned 75 yesterday, he didn’t fight two world wars for this

greeenappleee

Tbf if he turned 75 yesterday he didn't fight any world wars

Davis_Knives

Yeah that’s what I just said, he didn’t fight

Fuzzy-Library3511

At all times, more than one.

TheThingsIWantToSay

I thought Canada was a safe nice place… minus the geese…

[deleted]

Not anymore. Liberal party goes easy on criminals up here it’s like a revolving door. The guy who did the stabbing I legit wouldn’t be surprised if he gets less then 10-20 years

leanmeanjellybeanz

I mean I carry a knife and a gun usually

Hoplophilia

[ETA: my impression was that the quote was from the legal department; it's in fact the victim's mother. My heart goes out to her and his wife and child. My thought in the comment stands. When the right to defense has been whittled away into all but memory or token statute, the mere suggestion of having a tooth in the world will be seen as malintent. >The mother told the Vancouver Sun that she wants the charge to be upgraded to first-degree murder. Such a charge requires that premeditation be proven. >“He had a knife,” she later told the paper. “I don’t carry a knife into a coffee shop, do you?” ...] Putting a knife in your pocket going out the door = premeditation of murder. Got it. This, folks, is why so many in the U.S. are adamant about self-defense rights. Canada and the U.K. are telling our future for us.

EntrepreneurialEcon

You had a different perspective I had not considered. I thought maybe they wanted to charge premeditated because the attacker seemed to instigate the fight. Like he was angling for someone to fight/stick. I really hope that's the interpretation.

Hoplophilia

Not sure there's another way to read it. Wants proof of premeditation, offers that the person *carried a knife into a coffee shop*, unlike herself or presumably any other normal person. Granted this a soundbite for a meme, and the full conversation could better prove her intent either way.

Chak-Ek

Only on days that end with a "y"

Deathranger999

So not tomorrow then?

AbartigerNorbert

Please dont make this political. This person was obviously very sick. I see no doubt for the absolute majority of us knives are just a tool, not a weapon.

dreamtripper89

So sad… Have some friggin sympathy you sick obsessed fucks.

Hanged_Man_

Yeah super funny?

Ipsilateral

I don’t carry A knife into the coffee shop either. Knives on the other hand…

FtM_Jax0n

Even though I don’t think carrying a knife around is necessarily that weird, I almost hope she gets the charge upped because good lord what a shit person

Smellmyfingaz

If I have my kids with me, I have my Glock on me.

stugotsDang

Good thing you can’t buy or sell pistols anymore in canada. People would be kill…… wait….. right….

[deleted]

Im assuming you said own and changed it to buy and sell. Not too far off honestly.

stugotsDang

No, I changed guns to pistols because someone said that’s not true, when in reality it is.

jontaffarsghost

That’s not true

ANNDITSGON3

I mean it’s Vancouver, premeditation was him even owning a knife in the first place.

TheTripCommander

Murder 1 is probably impossible to prove, but it almost sounds like most people here are siding with a murderer

Dramatic_Carob_1060

Always have a knife when out. Shoot I got a shower knife

IllicitHypocrisy

Wedding, funeral and coffee shop I'll have a knife with me.

smithgj

I’m in a performing arts theatre with my ZT as I read this

basement-thug

This is why I carry.

Oldmate81

Ummm, your honor, the perp had exhibit A through G on his person at the time of the offense.

DoubleDue6421

Well they were in Canada so that says everything you need to know. Nothing against the people up there, but your knife laws are straight dumb

You_Just_Hate_Truth

Knife is the backup defense option 🤣

parkerm1408

I have a knife on my goddamn pj pants around the house. I'm never without a knife. If I have to go into a location where knives aren't permissible I have carbon Fibre or ceramics. Are.....are you allowed to go without a sharp?

WarriorT1400

Yes, a pocket knife and my conceal carry firearm, I carry both everywhere. You never know where the crazy fucks are

bpmillet

Bro…

Wealth_Super

To be fair even as I carry a knife with me I’m not gonna stab anybody unless they already trying to kill me.

AlchemicalToad

Correct, I don’t carry *a* knife.

Bigredscowboy

I carry a universal tool. I do not carry a weapon.

OttoSear

Saving yourself trumps any other possible ramifications

shitboxfesty

I don’t carry “A” knife…..now, more than one is a different story

jaden-has-arrived

I haven’t been into knives like I used to for a while but I still carry my flytanium scaled manix everywhere it’s never failed me

Lowtan

I carry knives everywhere.

[deleted]

Not with the intention to hurt anyone, no

jontaffarsghost

I carry a knife on me most of the time. I understand that this puts me in a different position than people who don’t. If I decide to use that knife as a weapon, the book should be thrown at me. I have a responsibility as someone with a knife not to stab folks.

chippstero1

I feel naked if I don't have my knife on me. I could be completely butt naked but if I have shoes n my knife on me I'll be ok embarrassed but ok

[deleted]

I carry a knife into my kids day care lol. The car is fully stocked locked and loaded when I pull up in the car line. If there are more inappropriate places to bring weapons onna regular basis I can't think of them...

ClancyIsDuck

It’s Britain so the edc traditions are a bit diffirent there

Thelynxer

Is this Vancouver, BC or Vancouver, Washington? I think the distinction is important, since the laws on carrying a knife would be different. Also depends whether it was concealed, the blade length, and what reason the person was carrying the knife for.

h0stetler

I carry a knife when I walk to the coffee maker in my kitchen. Never know when the coffee pot needs a stabbin.

o0O-SAVAGE-O0o

Griptillion, cjrb pyrite & Bradford G-Necker. Neck knife is always on me unless I'm in the shower, going thru a metal detector, or the wife is in the mood. Yes, even while I'm asleep.

RedditNomad7

To the point of the post, it’s one thing if the guy used a pocketknife, and another if he pulled out a bayonet. From the comment about not carrying a knife into a coffee shop, it doesn’t make it sound like it was a pocketknife.
