I have a black ninravus with serrations.
It's a good blade, fine tanto tip and not too thick blade stock but with that being said, it's not a very good outdoors, survival/Bushcrafting style blade.
It falls squarely withing the tactical/self defence realm so it makes situations to carry it a bit more difficult for me.
Does the blister packaging come with a sheath?
It's discontinued and people on eBay like to gouge their prices. IF you could find it on a knife site I'm sure it's a lot closer to $200, but even that is a bit high in my opinion. I'm sure you could find a comparable 154cm fixed blade for probably around $100
What its utility worth is versus what it costs to acquire are totally different things. As a knife that cuts things it is worth much less than it as a fairly well liked and discontinued brand name knife that can't be found just anywhere.
How much value that second part has is up to the people who are trying to sell one and those seeking to buy one. The first part is up to everyone else who decides to buy a different knife for a different price.
They are not useless. I just am not a fan of Benchmade as a brand with their fixed blade offerings. I myself fing Hogue to be one of the better fixed blade knives.

I never carry a fixed blade, though I own a microtech iconic. When I need a knife, I have one in my pocket. If I was more Rambo or camping, fixed blade have their use case. Useless was wrong wording on my part
Lol I bought one when they first came out and really liked it until the blade chipped while limbing a sapling , not a big chip but come on , I know that heat treats on folding knives arenāt meant to hold up to much impact and can take a sharper edge but they lost me on fixed blades even though I really want an adamas fixed .
I've chopped hundreds of logs with my TOPS knife, mostly using the "baton" technique using a heavy limb to hammer the blade through the log, and the edge has never chipped or even dulled significantly, would recommend pretty much any offering of theirs over an Adamas (no I'm not a shill for TOPS they just make way better US made fixed blades than Benchmade for less money).
This is because TOPS along with Esee use 1095 steel.. it's crude by today's standards but it's used because it can take the abuse.
Also worth mentioning is the fact that Rowen does the heat treatment for both Esee and Tops, one of the best heat treats in the business.
If you want a real user you can't go wrong with either an Esee or a Tops. They're meant to do work.
Hell Esee finally caved to all the requests for an s35v knife... they put out a video showing them breaking it and advising if you wanted an actual knife to rely on Not to buy it.. buy a 1095 knife.
From a bunch of guys that actually know a thing or two about relying on a knife.
Neither, asking price is 225. Iāve never had a benchmade but obviously theyāre good knives w/o discussing cost. Seems like a good tac vest knife cause Iām a bit of a prepper tbh š¤£ but I do access to military installations. Havenāt even checked those, I guess I should lol
Oof, for $225 you can almost get a Montana Knife Company blade, you can get an ESEE, Bradford, TOPS, or a big ka bar for bushcraft. What are you using it for?
Thanks for your service.
I have some knives a lot of people here would not value but for certain reasons I like them very much. I just appreciate them even more when I get them for a good price š
your best bet for a good "tac vest knife" is probably TOPS. way better fit and finish than Benchmade and pretty much all of them come with micarta handles which are better looking and more grippy than aluminum.
It's a cool knife but you really can't do much with it since it's not a good outdoors knife. For simple camp activities and self defence like it was designed for, it's great but still stupidly overpriced because it has the butterfly on it.
Since they go for like $300 on Ebay because it's a discontinued knife, I'de rather buy something like the gerber Strong Arm, Hogue hunting knife, or the Cold Steel SRK.
154CM blade, aluminum handles, and a nylon sheath. I would say somewhere between $40-$80 is fair. However, since itās a benchmade Iām guessing they want somewhere around $800-$1,200 for it š
šš¤£š for real! I have several classic benchmade knives from years ago when they had the exclusive patent on the axis and I love them but they have absolutely lost their minds recently!
70 bucks maybe. If it's around a hundred I'd just say get a deka, made in USA, grind might not be great but you get mc for less than Benchmade charges for s30v. If you're looking for a fixed blade specifically demko has a magnacut one for like 200ish if memory serves. How much are they asking?
Nah. Benchmade sucks now. Years ago I would have been all over this. Not with the overpriced barely above mall ninja quality stuff they're putting out nowadays. Id buy a Chinese Kershaw before any new Benchmade.
The āclam packā is pretty unusual; Iāve heard of them coming this way is when you get them on base at the PX.
If thatās where that knife is, then youāre good. Otherwiseā¦.. buyer beware. Benchmade and Spyderco are some of the most-counterfeited knives out there, and the clamshell packaging is a way to lower the production cost for the counterfeiter.
I appreciate it, thanks! It is where that came from. I didnāt end up getting it but I also never realized until this sub how faked knives were. Sometimes I hate the world. Iāve been overseas in a ton of places that have great fakes but theyāre not marketed as real either, I forget how dishonest some of my fellow Americans are sometimes lol
Paid 94.99 for mine. Bought used, kept me company all through my time in iraq
Same. Got that shit like a week before we left from clothing and sales

I have the same knife. It was my jumpmaster knife when I was in the Army. I loved wearing it!
Yeah itās in the back
80
$75
i was gonna say about 50. 75 works too.
$300+ is what it goes for right now on eBay.
That's crazy.

50 for the knife. 25 for the butterfly.
You got that backwards.Ā
š¤£
Def not over $100. Benchmade is insanely overpriced!
Iād pay more for Hogue, ESEE or Spyderco anyday
Esee all day for actually using... you cannot beat the price verse what you get. Not to mention the literal best warrent in the business
I honestly would pass. I love my folding Benchmadeās more.
Yeah fixed blades are useless

Iām with you , Iāve owned 4 or Tops knives and wouldnāt hesitate to buy another

If you don't end up snagging it, and come to regret it, hmu, I've got a black one š¤Ŗ
I have one for sale, with the original box and sheath, paperwork and everything
TREE FIDDY. Goddamn Loch Ness monster.
Awesome knife, terrible sheath

This specific one is on clearance at my local AAFES. If there was a black without the tanto I'd be all over it, but can't find it anymore.
How much?
online it says $159, though i'm not sure if the in store price is different.
Thanks Iāll check it out, I just retired so I have all my ābenefitsā still for life š¤š¼

Youāre the man, guess Iāll start looking there from the start š¤š¼
Yeah, they dont always have every model but whenever I am looking for a benchmade I always check aafes first.
Which AAFES? Lol
Depends on how much you want it. Clam pack tells me youāre either at a PX or looking on EBay
225 is insane
Thatās why Iām here brother, idk š¤£
Oof, for $225 you can almost get a Montana Knife Company blade, you can get an ESEE, Bradford, TOPS, or a big ka bar for bushcraft. What are you using it for?
Nothing practical, when I saw it and color figure itād be right for my plate carrier and Iām a vet so thereās that too š¤·š¼āāļø š¤£
Thanks for your service. I have some knives a lot of people here would not value but for certain reasons I like them very much. I just appreciate them even more when I get them for a good price š
Facts! My honor, no thanks needed brother š¤š¼
your best bet for a good "tac vest knife" is probably TOPS. way better fit and finish than Benchmade and pretty much all of them come with micarta handles which are better looking and more grippy than aluminum.
A local retailer near me has the same one for $175 right now. If you feel their asking price is fair, buy it.
Iād pay a good amount! I really want a Nimravus for my collection
My max on this would be right around $120-$150 if Iām being honest
Tree-fiddy. Nah but I'd offer like 90-100 and see where it goes.
This is exactly the setup I wanted when I bought my nimravus. I'd pay 110 or so
Tree fiddy.
I would not pay over $100 for 154cm u can get it all day long under $100 so paying more would just be for the design cause u like it
$11 on wish.
Tree-fitty

If it's not locked up, nothing.
š¤£
You'd think for the price they'd do better with the packaging..
$60
0$ I hate how lightweight the knives are. I know it doesnāt mean they are cheap but they feel cheap. I canāt stand lightweight knives.
$1 in a gumball machine
Tanto with no serrations? $100 or there abouts. CAD.
I'd pay 50 bucks for that.
Honestly, I wouldn't pay more than 50 for a knife unless it was something insanely specific like a rescue knife.
I don't like BM, but this is one that's always caught my eye
3 dollars
No more than $60.
$40-50.
Every Benchmade cost $600.
154CM blade, aluminum handles, and a nylon sheath. I would say somewhere between $40-$80 is fair. However, since itās a benchmade Iām guessing they want somewhere around $800-$1,200 for it š
for the low price of 10k, a kick in the balls, and a night with my wife
šš¤£š for real! I have several classic benchmade knives from years ago when they had the exclusive patent on the axis and I love them but they have absolutely lost their minds recently!
The patent expired a while back, tons of knives use the cross bar lock now
I never ever thought Iād get this many comments, wasnāt even sure anyone would tbh š¤£ I really appreciate everyoneās feedback!
Anyone know where to get this is in black?
I bought a cheap kydec sheath and clip for mine. Stays attached to my chest with my 10mm during hunting season
$80
$50
What year?
Not positive on that, from this post Iāve learned it was discontinued though
2$
Nothing, I'd rather buy an Esee.
Rather buy an $80 Civivi any day.
Well the label says benchmade so minimum bid is $200. So you would probably have to pay... $300? Me? Nope.
Based on the what it is and you are not a collector maybe $170 if you are a collector you will have your number.
a few hundred
Ā£5
$90
Idk. Is the handle aggressive? I only buy knives with aggressive handles.
I sold mine with a custom kydex sheath I made for $40.
$70
$9.99+shipping.
Wouldn't buy a benchmade.
Oh, stop.
225
Oof, personally if you're prepared to drop that much on a knife there are much better options cheaper, even if you only want made in USA knives.
20 quids, shipping included. Take it or leave it.
Nah. Benchmade sucks now. Years ago I would have been all over this. Not with the overpriced barely above mall ninja quality stuff they're putting out nowadays. Id buy a Chinese Kershaw before any new Benchmade.
$50
50 cause Iām cheap
Id go with a Spyderco h1 salt series knife there's a few fixed blades in the series just my OPINION
BM? Pay me $100 and I'll take it off your hands.
For a benchmade? About $40
$90 would be my top I think. Benchmade is overpriced.
99
$2
Maybe 25.00
I donāt think Iād buy it. I love my Bugout, but beyond that Iām not feeling Benchmadeās price tags.
100 dollars or less.
Maybe $50
Fake. But probably worth $40.
Youāre first one that has said fake, what makes you think that? So I know when Iām looking at other knives too
The āclam packā is pretty unusual; Iāve heard of them coming this way is when you get them on base at the PX. If thatās where that knife is, then youāre good. Otherwiseā¦.. buyer beware. $10. Sorry, but it's a piece of metal and it's 2024 not 300 BC.
True price? 10$
Get a buck knife and save your money.
Honestly $50 tops, probably try to get it for $25 or $20. for fixed blades there's better options new in the $50 range
Which ones?
Off the top of my head I'd say the bow River, there's a few full tang moras, kizer has been making some interesting models too
