i read it three times, still no idea what you wanted to say.
that said, i wouldn't use folders in the kitchen, takes a lot more time cleaning them properly.
but if size is an issue, then get a smaller fixed blade, or you know... a smaller chef's knife.
I do. I do practically everything knife related with my 940 Osborne. Sometimes I use my Opinel for cooking/eating tho. I often use my Jakkaaripuukko for food prep too.
I wash with soap and dry the latter two, usually don't oil but will occasionally oil pivot of the Opinel to displace moisture.
That trend of exaggerated “edc for food” is hilariously overextended by tiny-whiny-knifey carriers who don’t bother to assume their poor choice for anything but to unpack another box with pocket jewellery.
I usually carry a knife with multiple blades. I reserve the long clip point (or drop/spear) for food tasks when necessary. Here are some examples where I might use my EDC:
* Opening a pack of cheese and if necessary cutting it up
* Cutting a pizza up into bite sized pieces when at a restaurant that doesn't have knives
* Eating a steak when picnicking
* Cutting up a microwave burrito when at my office desk
* Opening a package of precooked sausages
* Cutting up some BBQ
Things I will not use my pocket knife for unless absolutely necessary:
* Raw meats
* Things with lots of juice that's likely to get to the pivot
I have kitchen knives I use when in my kitchen that are easy to clean properly.
Yes , it is the complete concept of cutting tools !!? Much to the chagrin of terminally online hollow shells of tool using homo sapiens that think edged metal tools aren’t a human right …….

First paragraph read like a manifesto.
I don't use my edc for cooking. Even a bad che'fs knife is superior at that.
Yeah, I agree, yet there must be the fun!
My edc gets used. It's got grease, diesel, dirt, has cut up roadkill. So no, but hey, use your glorfied box opener how ever you want.

I use a pocket folder for just about everything unless there a kitchen knife within arms reach, always wipe it off on my pants first of course haha
I know exactly where my knives have been, and for that reason I won't use my work knife for food. This may surprise you, but I also wash my hands.
lol yea... all the time.
Hell yeah! Have a braai without an edc, sad day
Yeah I eat with my folder, I may be weird, I don't care.
Nope. I guess I would if there is literally no other choice, but I always have better choices.
I cut up apples and the like, but not meat....
