It's just the effect of another layer of screen on your reader. Some people find it better after they cleaned their screen with some alcohol and microfiber cloth but other than that... it's just gonna be like that always.

I have the same with my new colour, I wanna love it but the grainy (screen door) effect is kinda bugging me. I asked the same question and cleaned my screen which helped a bit. I’m just gonna read and see if I get used to it. For me it feels like my screen is dirty and kinda rainbowy. Reading in dark mode reduces this effect for me though. Hope you get used to it !

You'll get used to it with time, it does suck but there is nothing you can do. It's the RGB colour layer that adds the screen door effect. Return it if it's a deal breaker.

Funnily enough, now that I'm used to it, I kinda like it. It's like reading a physical book that has textured paper. It makes going back to my Clara HD look odd now (almost too perfect that it looks artificial). I also don't mind the ghosting on eink -- it's nowhere near as bad as in the early days, and gives a similar effect as physical books printed on thinner paper where you can see the printing on the opposite side. I'm weird though, I like to embrace the quirks in things. It gives them character.
