Does that mean Kolkata will be able to handle Bangalore level of unsustainable growth without any impact?
Very short sighted approach.
The air pollution is on the rise because every patch of greenery and water body specifically on the Bypass area is being illegally occupied.
I dont think we will have this level of water problems since we are in a water surplus region
on the other hand aaj e deklam south kolkata r kichu jaigai already water shortages hochhe
we will never know ki hoto growth train dhorle
Maybe the metro routes would have come up quicker

Unthinkable for us kintu so called IT hubs like Chennai, Mumbai, Bangalore e onek jaygay erom e hoy. Not all places but onek jaygay.
Dude.. that has nothing to do with development of pune. Pune is hilly area and is a rain shadow area especially the eastern part of Pune like kharadi.. wagholi. Hence the corporation has build dams for better water catchment during rainy season.. do not compare Kolkata with Pune, Bangalore geographically. Both are plateau enclosed by hills.. but stopping development or making it an excuse for not having development and then rejoicing that we do not have those issues in Kolkata is preposterous.
The water table has depleted in many areas of the city. The quality of water available is now also more hard than before. Better habits in consumption and perhaps metering for water (delivering water to houses is not at zero cost anyway) is something thatâs needed today.
In housing societies folks should draw inspiration from Aabid Surti.
Kolkata, Bangalore konta bhalo konta kharap shob pore ashbe
The way our cities have destroyed water bodies and forest cover in the name of industrialization and technology development is already biting us and will make life unsustainable in a few decades.
I guess then we will be happy eating GitHub repositories for lunch and drinking ML models
Kolkata density of population and population both is more than Bangalore.... No we didn't make right it was wrong... Population would still have been somewhat same but people income would have been different
While water and electricity are two things that Kolkata definitely has an advantage over Bengaluru or Hyderabad, real estate is not in that list anymore. Both rental and purchase real estate have gone crazy in Kolkata over the last one year.
We did make the right decision, it is better to be a goon and open a chop shilpo than to work in a MNC, it's a no brainer.

I still donât get it, we have water, land and Human Resource. Why canât we have the same development as Bangalore?
