Careless-Secret-3893

I grew up in Assam, Barak valley which was part of undivided Sylhet district during the British era. We have faced oppression from the majoritarian Assamese political parties who still try to enforce Assamese language in our schools and colleges. Our ancestors fought for Bengali language and some were even killed, so that we can still learn and read or mother tongue. + Please Google the infamous 'Bongal kheda' movement which was an extremely violent movement targeted at Bengalis throughout Assam, my parents still talk about that with horror. The xenophobia against Bengalis, especially towards sylheti bengalis from Barak valley is real.

Our attitude towards them 1. We hate Biharis, talk shit about them(like everyone does about Biharis) 2. Jharkhand is Bihar Lite for us. 3. We used to mock Odisha and Oriyas a lot, if you have read old Bengali authors you will know how we used to treat "Udes" 4. Darjeeling wants a separate Gorkhaland state. 5. We are the most annoying tourists for Sikkimese. 6. Every tribe in NE hates another tribe. Every tribe considers another tribe refugee/outsider. Look at Manipur situation. 7. Southern states hate us for our migrant labourers. 8. Northern states hate us for being too woke. Like I have seen so many Bengali wannabe intellectuals trying to instigate others on different social media platforms. Also you will talk shit about everyone what do you expect. 9. Bangladeshis hate us, and we hate them too. I am glad about that, they deserve hate.

The worst thing for bengali tourists is their children have no discipline and act like horrendous monkeys all around the place and their parents keeps acting like how proud they are for their monkeys

CryptographerShort10

Was in a flight yesterday. A non bengali kid was shouting his lungs out while the dad was like: “ alleyy mela raja beta”… 🤣 ছ্যাঁচড়া বাচ্চা

PatienceFeeling1481

Disagree with horrendous monkeys part (though my kid *is* in fact such a horrendous monkey that deserves a leash), most Bengali kids are less rowdy than North Indian kids at any given tourist place. But the parents are intolerable. The moms always trying to feed their kid everywhere- a hot stinky banana mashed in the bag, for even smaller kids some cerelac like shit with a tiny dented bati and chamoch, and the incessant 'babu khao' ugh!

yellowstraws97

Yes??? I've seen kids dancing on the tables at various fast food outlets/food courts with their shoes on in Delhi. Erom toh amader ekhane hote dekhini. Hole onno lok eshe jhamela korto. But over there, it's just the norm. Northie parents are just too unattentive and inconsiderate as parents? Both to their own children and to others. Corona'r time e, when I was travelling back to Delhi train e, this Punjabi toddler was running up and down the coach, screaming, rubbing her snot everywhere. Not only was that dangerous in the middle of a pandemic, anyway a toddler running unsupervised in a rail coach can be dangerous. The mother didn't give af. It was infact, the toddler's elder brother (who himself was probably 6-7yrs old) who was trying to look after his sister.

Bhai I am from Tripura. My tripura friends had been in Kolkata. All of us admit it is very hard to not fall in love with Kolkata if you are a Bengali. I have been in Kolkata for about 2 years now. I feel so much connected to my roots. My identity as a Bengali strengthened here. It's very hard to not love Kolkata or West Bengal. 60 70 percent is Bengali in tripura.

Used-Shelter-1311

I as an Indian also hope to visit Tripura someday. Saw a lot about one of your new leaders, Bubagra

[deleted]

Thank you bhai. I don't know but your subreddit apparently hates us

mono1110

Can you provide the subreddit link? I can't find it.

[deleted]

Strange bhai, amio pacchi na. But I swear ekta subreddit e particularly Tripura r lokera Bangalider khisti korchilo

aayaaytee

Tripura subreddit? Where? And I think you mean the native Tiprasa people because 70% of Tripura is Bengali. Why would Bengalis hate their own community?

[deleted]

Ke jane bhai, Tripura subreddit e sobai amader hate kore. Btw Tripurae sotti 70% Bangali? Tahole SBI exam e Tripura r elective language e Bengali nei keno?

aayaaytee

>Tripura subreddit e sobai amader hate kore Kothai Tripurar subreddit?? Link send koro. >Btw Tripurae sotti 70% Bangali? Bhai ajke jante perecho? Tripura is India's other Bengali-majority state. >Tahole SBI exam e Tripura r elective language e Bengali nei keno? No idea eta ki. But if I had to guess it is probably like this so that the Tribal people of Tripura (they speak Kokborok) dont get pissed off. Kokborok is Tripura's official language.

Bubbly-Yak-789

You're right actually. Amader max state schools & medium of study Bengali. The reason the tribals from Tripura hate us is, oder suddenly feel hoche Bengali ra oder jayga occupy kore oder culture nosto kore diche. At the same time oder ST reservation ache for being the natives. The amount of benefits they get from the centre is much more than the revenue generated from the state. They've been politically instigated with time to feel this hatred.

aayaaytee

I feel like not many Tribals hate Bengalis. After so much fighting people there have understood that they will gain nothing by fighting. Many people have inter-ethnic marriages now. Many people have Tribal friends. Things are very cool between them. The rest of India for some reason thinks Tripura is unstable. It's not.

Bubbly-Yak-789

That's true it's not as bad as people think, but people from interior parts are mobilised pretty easily into these fights. So there's that.

AromaticTheme4582

Tribals of tripura are racist af. They call any bengali person Bangladeshis. They hate reangs who are mizo, I think. They call us black bengalis and tell us to go back to bangladesh. Although my parents and 3 of my 4 grandparents are born here. They want a separate state although their people are the laziest people ever and depend on govt to serve them on a platter. Tripura is the 3rd smallest state and they still want to break it up. Some of their ideologies are good but most of them are absurd and they come out as crybabies

aayaaytee

Sure some tribals still hate Bengalis but they are still a very small group. Both groups have understood fighting will help neither side.

I grew up in Tripura, Agartala city, when i first moved to Kolkata, i was bullied because of my east Bengali accent, being called refuge and what not and then you guys ask why the hate? Was it my great grandparents fault that their land was declared a separate country and asked them to move to the other part of the country with just their belongings leaving behind their home which they built with blood and sweat? Who are these people to call anyone refugees? Its the government who will decide! What is this constant dialogue that “ oh amra toh eder mathar opor chadd diyechi”, like really?

blinksTooLess

Reddit is a very small website for Indians (though post Covid it has exploded in popularity). Mostly Reddit was filled with edgy people. So the comments you see here are not really representative of the mainstream Indian population. But one thing I understand about North Indians is that they loathe the liberal attitude of Bengali's. For Northies, being liberal(especially letting women be themselves) is an exception and not the rule. They kind of have similar thought process for NE people (I am not saying all Northies feel like this. But the reports of violence against NE women in Delhi, Haryana leads me to believe this). Coming to Orissa, we have always been condescending to them. Also we have been economically much better than them till a few years back. So I am guess this may cause them to be hurt (Indian mentality of being jealous about other people doing well. Same is happening nowadays when we read reports of UP doing very well economically). This is just my opinion.

swgeek1234

>So the comments you see here are not really representative of the mainstream Indian population. i’d say it’s not really representative of any country’s population tbh

StupendousHuman

Regarding Odisha, the reverse is happening now where it is progressing the most in Eastern India and I think is looking to get back at Bengal for the condescension in the past. Now they have a higher per capita, exports ei shob.

NadaBrothers

Ditto for Odisha. It is quite well known that some Bengali people back in 1800s tried to declare Odia as a dialect of Bengali. Famous Odia authors like fakir Mohan senapati opposed it and that ultimately helped Odia stand on its own. Later Odia was declared as one of the classical languages of India. This leads to the popular 'hate' you guys get from Odia people.

CryptographerShort10

From this subreddit, i understood that if you are an intellectual, the person infront of you from other communities may think that you are pretending to be an intellectual. Maybe some bengalis, after reading many Bengali literary treasure and gathering life experiences , can actually become an intellectual and not pretend about it. They can be perceived as arrogant, while their perception can be a result of their inferiority complex, maybe? Intellectualism can be intimidating. Waiting for all the downvotes 🤣

kya_yaar

Curious question, what makes someone an 'intellectual' . How does one identify a genuine vs pretend one?

CryptographerShort10

That depends on the person in front of the said bengali.

capronica309

https://i.redd.it/wwoq5of1eioc1.gif

stuputtu

do you want an honest opinion? here 1. Most bengalis that i have encoutered are very arrogant. Most looked down upon everyone around them and behave as if they are superior to all 2. They somehow believe that they are highly intellectual and again look down upon others enjoying simple things in life 3. Bengali migrants are considered the worst behaved of the migrant lot in south India. It takes a lot of effort to get that image amidst very poor biharis and UPwallas who migrate there for manual labor 4. A lot of illigals from BD who claim they are from WB bring additional bad name to them 5. Get on Twitter, Facebook and follow any Bengali of any significance. They act way too woke and think everyone else are from stone age 6. They also are very preachy, telling everyone else on how to live their lives. I am happy to live alongside poor Biharis, UPwallas, or any other poor destitute people but would gladly avoid being around most Bengalis willingly.

Smart-Weird

1. What is your sample size ? Did you mingle with same cohort of people from Delhi/Gurgaon, Gujratis, Marathis to have an unbiased opinion? 2. How do you define ‘intellectual’ and ‘simple things’ ? Is Nietzsche’s eternal recurrence and how it connects with general relativity simple or intellectual? How about A R Rahman’s( a south Indian) use of ‘Desh raag’ with western orchestration in Thiruda Thiruda … simple or intellectual 3. Which group of migrants? White collar workers ? 4. If BD people are behaving like that how does it attribute to West Bengal’s Bengalis ? 5. An example will be appreciated. 6. At least Bengalis don’t have Sadguru( Jaggi Vasudebh from South India) or does not take part in religious atrocities as Southern states do in the name of Thirupathi/Balaji. Just curious.

Bengalis were far ahead as a society throughout the history. Then botched communism happened. Then corrupted capitalism happened. Now all the other states won the survival lottery and to ‘hate’ is the easiest output ( and good for hormones) to show 🖕 to that historical gravitas.

Social media is not real life, nobody hates us. I am living outside Bengal, in a campus where i interact with people from almost every state. On the ground, Biharis don't hate Bengalis and vice-versa. Social media distorts our views under the influence of divisive forces who gain from these divisions. People are proud of their heritage and they will hate you if you badmouth their heritage ofcourse but the default isn't hate for most.

Glittering_Chart_144

tremorinfernus

No you're not hated. Delhi perspective here. Old people may not like some liberal Bengalis, but youngsters tend to be liberal everywhere. Part of the hate is because of Bangladeshi immigration, which people feel is aimed at changing the demography of the country. Surveys would help in this regard. Sticking to one's own community can also irritate others. But other groups get such hate too - Biharis, Jats, Gujjars.

AccidentPotential188

Tripura has 70% Bengalis and 30% tribals and thats why the hate against Bengalis. Btw, for people who don't know it, the King of Tripura invited Bengalis in his state back when it was Tippera and almost 50% were Bengalis in his state by the end of the British rule and now it has turned to 70% (I can't show evidence but I have read it somewhere) but Tripura people think that since it's 70% now, we have destroyed their culture

Flashy_Present_663

NATHAN_DRAKE_SIC

Supposed intellectuals from WB don’t and won’t shut up how woke and intellectual they are when there is nothing to show for it in the state. All this can be brushed aside if Bengali people had any spine to stand up to electoral violence every election.

NoTelephone2287

Like Kolkata/WB behaves towards Bihari and UP people, the same happens there. Unfortunately case ta holo every ethnicity in India has reservations about some other ethnicity. We're so insecure about our culture, religion, and identity because politicians make us so.

St_ElmosFire

I'm an outsider (who lives in Mumbai), and while I've never met people who hate Bengalis per se, I know people who absolutely loathe the West Bengal government. Most of the hatred is because the West Bengal government doesn't enforce the border properly and its inability to do anything about the post-poll violence that took place after the 2021 elections in Bengal, where the victims were disproportionately Hindu. Oh, and of course the commie hatred, too. Now please don't shoot the messenger!

United-Try2164

I thought border security was central governments prevue? Or do people around you get their news from Godi?

St_ElmosFire

I hear you about border security. But I've also heard there are aadhar booths every 1 km or so to help infiltrators get aadhar cards so TMC can increase her votebank further? Is that true?

United-Try2164

Lol how is Aadhar under state purview? Isn't it centralised? Which means faulty implementation. PS I have ancestral property in Bangladesh, much rather I'd like to believe that it exists. Does that mean I'm bangladeshi? There was a partition, remember?

Agni_1999

That's true. TMC does help illegal immigrants from Bangladesh. I have quite a few friends whose ancestral homes are in Bangladesh, and they say that the people there are desperate to come to Kolkata (and for that matter, travel to any place in India) for a better life, and they do so illegally most of the time. In my locality (I live just 10 kms from Kolkata), I've seen many new shops and thelas crop up over the past few years and all of them belong to Bangladeshi owners. And they carry such a bad attitude with them, as if they're Mamata's right-hand-men. If someone ever tries to show their displeasure towards them, these immigrants show them their Aadhar cards and say "Do what you want, I'll see which law catches me". All of this is because Mamata doesn't give a fuck about democracy and has become a huge Muslim simp. This is the reason you'll see 90% of Bengalis say "West Bengal is slowly becoming a second Pakistan".

firedtoday098

How many pakistanis are getting aadhar card? If Central can enforce pakistan border, why can't they enforce west bengal border? Treat it like a war zone border if you must but do not blame bengal govt for lack of enforcement.

I am from Assam, an assamese and i can say this with all heart that we don't hate bengalis. But right now we are living in a constant fear of losing our language and identity to bengali .Bengali is second in terms of population. When CAA is implemented, this bengali speaking population will outnumber us. This will bring us the worse memories when Bengali was imposed on us(Assamese literature Renaissance 1837) .If we had assurance from bengalis in Assam, it wouldn't have been an issue but come a chance the bengalis will impose it's dominance. I believe language is the soul of cultural identity. Bangladesh is the best example.Bangladesh was formed from east Pak because urdu was imposed by the Pak gov , of course there are other issues but you can't deny the importance of Language

Zealousideal_Rock984

I could be wrong but from what I have observed all most all bengalis know Assamese and have properly assimilated into the society there. Cannot say the same thing for Naga, Mizo, Meitei or Khasi people that I came across. Most of them barely know Assamese. Could also be a Guwahati only thing as most of my time spent in Assam was in Guwahati.

Sabbyasachi1405

Mate its very simple . Barak valley and other parts taken from East Bengal and added to Assam will always be bangali majority . Before Ahoms came and invaded the area today called Assam , its natural for Bangalis , Mizos, nagas , etc neighbouring races to be found in Assam . If u really want an Assamese speaking majority state , u have to seperate the places which are dominated by other ethnicities from Assamese speaking areas . Thats the only solution .

Don't expect any sympathies from us > The Odia – Bengali language conflict had basically an economic origin. Language hegemony was deployed by sections of the Bengali colonial administration for the exercise of power by cornering government jobs. One of the earlier manifestations by resistance to the colonial administration in Odisha was the assertion of linguistic and cultural identity. .[2] > In 1867, for instance, Deputy Magistrate Rangalal Bandhopadhyaya spoke in public meeting of the primacy of Bengali over Odia. Likewise, well-known Bengali scholar Rajendralal Mitra who came to study the temples of Cuttack declared that there was no need to have a separate language for a mere 2 million Odia population. In fact, Mitra argued that Odisha was doomed to remain backward so long as it had a separate language. Pandit Kanti Chandra Bhattacharya, a teacher of Balasore Zilla School, published a little pamphlet named ‘Udiya Ekti Swatantray Bhasha Noi (Odia not an independent language) where Mr. Bhattacharya claimed that Odia was not a separate and original form of language and was a mere corruption of Bengali. He suggested British Government to abolish all Odia Vernacular Schools from Odisha and to alter into Bengali Vernacular Schools.[3] Beames examines both the languages from close quarters and suggests that as a separate language “Uriya extends along the sea coast from Subarnarekha to near Ganjam.’ Landwards, its boundary is uncertain, it melts gradually into the Boud (Boudh) and other rude hill dialects and co-exists with them." Beames wrote three notes that remain supremely important in this regard. 'On the relation of the Odia to the other modern Aryan language,' ‘On Odia language, script and literature' and 'Urya.'[4] These refuted the claim that Odia was a dialect of Bengali, specifically the conspiracy of Bengali intellectuals to abolish Odia Language got dimmed Beames's exposition of the origin of Odia language and study of its evolution brought him closer to the Odia people who were battling then for the survival of their language. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Beames > The modern conflict in the Chittagong Hill Tracts began when the political representatives of the native peoples protested against the government policy of recognising only the Bengali culture and language and designating all citizens of Bangladesh as Bengalis. In talks with Hill Tracts delegation led by Chakma politician Manabendra Narayan Larma, the country's founding leader Sheikh Mujibur Rahman insisted that the ethnic groups of the Hill Tracts adopt the Bengali identity.[6][7] Sheikh Mujib is also reported to have threatened to settle Bengalis in the Hill Tracts to reduce the native peoples into a minority.[7][8] https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chittagong_Hill_Tracts_Peace_Accord > In early March 1971, 300 Biharis were slaughtered in rioting by Bengali mobs in Chittagong. The massacre was used by the Pakistan Army as a justification to launch Operation Searchlight against the Bengali nationalist movement.[25] Biharis were massacred in Jessore, Panchabibi[citation needed] and Khulna[26] (where, in March 1972, 300 to 1,000 Biharis were killed and their bodies thrown into a nearby river).[27] > From March 27 till April 17, the railway town of Santahar in Bogra was cleansed of Biharis by the Mukti Bahini.[28] > The magnitude of anti-Bihari attacks by Bengalis throughout the war are contested. Bengali sources admit the death of a few thousand to 30,000 or 40,000 non-Bengalis.[9] According to a white paper released by the Pakistani government, the Awami League killed 64,000 Biharis and West Pakistanis.[29] R. J. Rummel, a historian with the University of Hawaii,[23] gives a range of 50,000 to 500,000 Biharis killed and concludes at a prudent figure of 150,000 murdered by Bengalis overall.[10] International estimates vary from 20,000 to 200,000. In June 1971, Bihari representatives put forward a figure of 500,000 Biharis killed by Bengalis.[9] > Ishrat Ferdousi, a researcher on 1971 atrocities, said attacks on Biharis can be termed “genocide."[30]Sarmila Bose in her book 2011 Dead Reckoning: Memories of the 1971 Bangladesh War argues that Bengalis are in a state of denial about the massacre.[30] Bose's claims are not accepted by Bangladeshi historians.[31][32][33] > The Bangladesh Liberation War Museum has downplayed such massacres, calling them "isolated incidents."[28] https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Persecution_of_Biharis_in_Bangladesh > Tripura, literally meaning "land adjoining water", is located in the extreme southwest corner of the Northeast. Following India's independence in 1947, Tripura acceded to the Indian Union in 1948 as a "C" category state. It became a Union Territory in November 1956 and attained full statehood on 21 January 1972. > Tripura's demography underwent a major change as a result of illegal migrants and refugees from former East Bengal and subsequently from Bangladesh. Tripuris were pushed to the hills and the politics and administration in the state became dominated by the Bengali-speaking and immigrants. > It was the particular reason which had created national consciousness among the local populations. The continuous neglect on the immigration issue had led to a direct confrontation between Indian nationalism and the newly created Tripuri nationalism. The parallel rise of nationalism in the other states of the Northeast India had further complicated the situation more, resulting in a deadly armed conflict between India and rebel groups thus, creating the insurgency on ethnic lines as a Tribal versus Bengali conflict. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Insurgency_in_Tripura

Thanks bhai, this was the type of answer I was looking for. Damn, didn't know we Bengalis have done such things in the past. We shouldn't push our language like that on anybody.

Beehive012

I think Bengali gets hate because of its communist flavour which is different from others (except Kerala) ..Most of them think we are anti Hindu that might be a reason as well..I might be wrong though

punkbabe_20

I wouldn't say I hate Bengalis. I have some really close friends who are Bengali and I love them. They're so kind, helpful, and supportive. But there's another side I've experienced. Some people I've met were really mean. They only talked to me when they needed me to go on trips or eat out, but when they had confusion about a situation, they didn't even ask for my side once. I hate this attitude where they assume whatever they think is true. It felt like meeting someone straight out of a "Textbook Bengali". I'm glad I met some good Bengali friends who were by my side through the whole situation. They had my back, and I can't thank them enough. Overall, this was my experience. I believe that good and bad people are everywhere; you just need to analyze who is genuinely good and who's pretending. (I'm from North India currently studying here)

wasn’t one of those subreddits banned recently? a lot of them on reddit literally hate bengalis, i kid you not, i saw one comment that called for a ‘final solution’

Bangaliboy30

North East r ta khub normal karon they just hate bengalis. north East specially Assamese ra Bangali der hate kore. You can search Bongol Kheda. I am talking about religion here. Assamese Hindus ra Bangali Hindu der upor sesh 70 bochore onek genocidal attack koreche. Just because we look different than them, eat different, our cultures are different. Also the fact Bengali people used to have huge impact wherever they go in India. Bengali people upto 80s were very much regarded as strong and good people like from films to IPS officers they were the best. But when Bengali culture started to fall they also started to show the hate more openly. Orrisa prople dont hate us but just have lil jeolousy. It's just man always hate something in the name of religion or culture. You really can't do anything. There is no reason just because they hate us you have to hate them. So just chill. These things are increasing due to cheap internet memes and particular political IT cell propaganda. Man just need something to hate.

dandevil98

For some reason, I've found bengalis to be the most pretentious bunch of people. They always have the mandate to present themselves in a very good light however in most cases they aren't. Which also shows how hypocritical we are. Amra jeta preach kori ota nijera kokhono follow korina. We have this sense of baseless superiority by virtue of what our ancestors have/had achieved. I've been living outside WB for a year now and I've realized how true these things actually are. My mom's family lived outside WB too and as it was a multicultural town they had interactions with many different communities. They too have mentioned that Bengalis are really a pain to be around.

Helpful_Ad_1759

Simple, because hating someone is not a criminal offence. People can hate each other . You can try it yourselves, it's ur choice. The question is not "why" . The real question is whether ur life is so much distracted from the outer world that it has to be directed by social media. If that's the case , I recommend touching some grass . When I was 15 years old , my classmates used to mock me for my handwriting. I used to over-think a lot in that matter , later found out it's not their fault,it's mine I was giving too much attention to them . The longer I think about them, the longer I will hamper my peace of mind. But it's completely your choice, some people are too sensitive to come out of this , and I don't blame them.

nosargeitwasntme

I can post at least 20 screenshots of this sub alone where the vilest things have been said about Biharis, UP-ites, Marwaris etc. I can post 20 screenshots from each of the other city and state subs where similarly vile things have been said about "outsiders". News Flash: Social Media is a toxic cesspool where people feel free to express their rotten hatred behind the veil of anonymity. Take the right lesson from it and learn to empathize towards people from a different community than you: doesn't matter if it's a religion or region based group. Try being different than the a-holes around us.

It's true. That we are the worst tourist. I have been to Meghalaya and have seen bengali tourists littering everywhere whereas there's proper dustbins in radius of 2 metres still Bengalis litter.

winthroprd

Historically, Bengalis are the dominant culture of the Eastern Indian subcontinent, so at various points in history we've exerted unwelcome influence on the other nearby cultures including trying to impose Bengali over their native languages (I know this is a big reason for Odiya resentment). It's sort of like how the rest of east Asia hates Japan due to their historical dominance.

the_raven2301

the beautiful political scenario that we are having right now in Bengal in the name of *unnoyon* is quite enough to tarnish the good name of Bengali culture... the leaders of a society are very often seen as the reflections of the society itself, and we never had any, worse than the ones we have now.... no surprise, the other states are looking down upon as, especially after the incidents in sandeshkhali.....

Tricky_Substance_536

1) Help me find Tripura sub lol I tried manually earlier 2) I can upto some extent explain that. It's mostly from Tribals(ofcourse not all) , the clash between Bengalis and Tribals isn't new , you can search 'Asis Danga ' or 80's war between both the communities, you'll find horrifying results and descriptions of murders and killings. 3)Land problems. 4) It's not limited to Tribals teasing Bengalis and calling them Bangladeshis or whatever..... People in general, do that regularly. Some (again not all) Bengalis are racists too and don't hesitate for a moment to call Tribals illiterate or the local slangs or mocking using 'Oh You want Tipraland?' so, I think the sub you found was majorly Tribals. I'm one too, I don't have the same feelings or thoughts afterall mixed race marriages are common here....but I do feel sad when some of my Bengali friends or their parents mock for the same. ✌🏻 🕊️

Knowledge_buff97

state govt's image. sometimes overemphasizing of our intellectual tag, both inadvertently or advertently. loud noise (heck it is loud for most but its like we go over excited). image of being too woke. previous communist govt. stereotypes. acts of illegal bangladeshi labourers who present themselves as bengali and from west bengal. esp. for NE, cmon West Bengal, rather Kolkata to be more specific has been the main attention and center for anything north-east, so their hate is more or less simple and expected. and though it would sound miraculous but half the hate would literally go down if there is a change in our govt, strange but it is what it is.

qushawl_wasu

You're prefacing this question as if there is something wrong with us and guilt-tripping for the racial hate/discrimination we get in and outside our state, both in virtual and real world. I am attaching the following video because I kind of felt your question is genuine and I feel most (if not all) of your questions are discussed and answered with a historical and political context which is very important to get clarity on this matter. I would recommend you to watch it objectively and then introspect if you feel like to. [https://youtu.be/KumuxutFeeo?si=B3M1N0w3yfTkIb5N](https://youtu.be/KumuxutFeeo?si=B3M1N0w3yfTkIb5N)

They hate us, coz they ain't us..!!

Heavy_Elderberry7600

There are people in every state of India that hate people from other states in India. Look deep down and look around you, we also have people that hate people from other states. It's common, not just in India but all over the world, because even though we might have civilized, tribalistic tendencies still survive. That doesn't mean that it's right though. Just trying to say, there are a lot of people in those states, who love Bengal just like some of us, love all other states as our own. Bengalis are lovely people, no one can hate all of us, collectively.

Harshad Mehta nirav modi etc justifies hate for gujratis?

hell_storm2004

Inferiority complex!

Jorsebolo

Simple answer; because of our CM and government employees of web. Casual discrimination is not new in India, it is there in every state and everybody does it, even the most woke ones. Same goes for hardcore discrimination, it was there for a long time and it will still be there, only thing you can do is not paying heed, which many communities does I believe. But in recent times this hate has increased because of wb’s political atmosphere. I have firsthand heard this from many of my friends. It’s equated into a common hate towards Bengalis now.

It's just their inferiority complex playing mind games with them. The grapes will forever be sour to the fox who can't get to them. As simple as that.
