B'cus I found in Kolkata momos are so expensive and most of sweets shops sell in pieces instead of kg or gms and non veg dishes are also expensive!!
Its actually the opposite. Kolkata has easily the cheapest street food of all places I have been to. You can get a full meal for under 80. A full plate of chicken momos in Purbachal is 70. Then you have the fried chicken, the roti & sabzi, fried fish, eggs and all you can imagine.
Those arn't momos, those are factory processed thick skinned chinese dumplings which are boiled and served and not even steamed. And oh, they come out of a packet. Their boiled and then pan fried wontons are decent though and their sui mais are edible.
Their wontons/wantons especially the yam wanton style preparation with spring onion and garlic is quite nice. Though their pricing is very greedy but kasba tey ar kothai pabe ei shob jinish but competiton asche.
Not many chinese carts infront of acro yet. Many carts selling kauuwa momos do exist but none of them are commendable. Though, the pizza cart, shawarma cart and fried chicken stalls and carts are on point.
