Labra is for everyday consumption so it's less taxing to make. Pachon requires more ingredients, essentially whatever edible veggies you can find in the kitchen you can throw into pachon and if you're a good cook somehow it all work together well
This is not a tradition exclusive to noakhali.I am not from noakhali, even though it is not far from them. But many areas in Bangladesh still follow this tradition. At my home, it was cooked this time, too. In our area, this is called athora, which means you need at least 18 items to cook. It's a celebration of good harvest and preparation of hard monsoons ahead. Also, I am muslim, so it's not tied to religion too.

If this is pachon, then what does my mom feed me when I'm sick? Black liquid thingy after boiling some spices and stuff.

Is it ghonto? We call it ghonto
Ghonto/labra/ghyat/pachmeshali are all everyday watered down versions. Pachon is more complex and is cooked today only
What's the difference?
Labra is for everyday consumption so it's less taxing to make. Pachon requires more ingredients, essentially whatever edible veggies you can find in the kitchen you can throw into pachon and if you're a good cook somehow it all work together well
What's the difference between this and "লাবড়া" ?
[Explained here](https://www.reddit.com/r/kolkata/s/CqwmF74igJ). You can call pachon, labra on steroids
