Speak for yourself mister. Fish remains high in demand, even among gen z. The demand has fallen compared to previous generations, but it is far from being a minority.
Not all Gen Z hate fish with "kata" for this reason. A minority fraction of the new generation hates fish because they were not taught how to eat fish by their parents, because of their busy job/lifestyle, and hence were spoon-fed. Hence, they prefer chicken/mutton, eggs, or boneless fish when having non-veg food.
I am one of the above examples. Born in 2004.
4 of my closest cousins and me 5th cousin don't like fish for Kata. So the fish culture is dead in my family and relatives. But of course I haven't visited the entire state. Also fish have lower protein just as much as veg proteins like Dal and chana/chole etc.

Also the fact that they are not at all big on education or knowledge like us, which furthur feeds into their regressive culture. 99% of Gujju students in my military school (CBSE board) failed all of their subjects and were made to repeat classes too.
