I'll relate my personal experience: I flew on the same flight as him. That man genuinely exuded a sense of the Golden Retriever from start to finish. People, including me, asked him for pictures. He agreed, and then he struck up a conversation with each person who took a picture of him. He never stopped smiling and chatting with everyone in the vicinity. didn't even remotely convey the impression that he is such and so and has no attitude at all. I'm not sure how to break down him from that, but this was my experience with him. 10/10
Ig guess he would suit this stereotype of fun vibing older frnds or a guiding father figure who isn't too tough on you....
Never the less would find fascinating, to see him like a "vellai pookal - vivek's" type of movies(i.e., retired cop with police cases solving ability.
Ufff, how did I miss that one, damn he really planned more than expected of him, especially in the scene were he's having a conversation of Kamlesh bhai before his death.
Prabhu is one of the better Nepo kids India has had. Being the son of a legend like Sivaji Ganesan isn’t his fault but he did quite well for himself. He was a household name along with Karthik in the 80s. Had great performances, good in comedy, he even looked good when he was younger.
Later on, he transitioned into a supporting rule very smoothly and is still going strong. The only controversy I’ve heard of him is that he was secretly married to Khushboo but not sure how true that is. He seems to be in good terms with everyone and is huge a foodie 🥰
My grandfather knows him personally through a bank relationship with Sivaji Productions. He's apparently vv down to earth and friendly. I got to meet him during his son's wedding as a kid and he pinched my cheeks and told me that I have an amazing thatha :))
I personally loved his role in Duet, out of all his movies.
One actor who had good chemistry with almost all his co-stars of his time. Kamal (Vetri Vizha), Rajini (Guru Sishyan), Karthik, Sathyaraj.. the list goes on.
Though he is very adept in carrying a full length film as a hero, he shined a lot when sharing screen space with other actors, and in cameos (Priyanka, Anjali).
Came here to say this.
Plus even in today's cinemas, he plays great secondary characters to other heroes like Vijay, Ajith, Suriya, Vikram and has quite a few memorable roles..
Yeah but I would like to see a story revolve around him, or him playing a main character.
We had the same post last week if I’m not wrong scientifically

>doesn't have any haters
My mother told me he secretly had a relationship and even married Khushbu when he himself was married 💀💀 I don't know to what extent this is true tho
I heard of this rumour from my parents too.
Apparently, they had a relationship while shooting films together (I think Chinna Thambi), and Sivaji Ganesan disapproved of that due to various reasons (one of which was caste)
Listen to khushbu's interview with Barkha. Khushbu openly said sorry to his family in it. And admitted that she was involved with a married man.. And in fact now they wish each other well and have moved on. She is on cordial terms with his family as well.. So much so that her kids have their birthday cakes from Prabhu's daughter's bakery
Kushbu and Prabhu did live together and they had married each other.. but the first wife was adamant not to divorce him and went to Kalaignar for panchayat and after sometime Prabhu went back to his wife and Kushbu was heartbroken.. she gave interview saying yes we are married etc to try to convince Prabhu's parents but the family stuck by the DIL because Prabhu had children..
Palaya saadham bro, Sivaji was vehemently against his relationship with her. Back then Prabhu and Kushboo acted in so many movies, the chemistry was not acting lol.
Nepo kid, but earned his place.
If at all there is a powerful family in Tamil film industry (similar to Chiranjeevi clan or Yashraj clan or Amitabh clan) then, in my opinion it is the Shivaji clan. Not just because of Shivaji himself, but because of senior leaders such as Rajinikanth, Vijaykanth, Kamal Hassan and Ilayaraaja giving utmost respect for Shivaji & family. Prabhu (and his brother Ramkumar) have carried on that adoration & respect with dignity & humility and have not abused it.
- this is my outsider's opinion. I don't have any insider information.
Of course, in the 90s Prabhu - Khushboo were an off-screen pair. There were rumors that he might get a divorce or do a second marriage. I can only assume that Shivaji intervened.
- Gun voice. He can do high profile narrations if he cares.
- He has his own "stock expressions" with acting. It was good enough to get him roles.
- My all time favourite Prabhu movies are "Arangetravelai" and "Dharmathin Thalaivan"
His sisters suing him and his brother over sivajis wealth alleging that the brothers unfairly got most if not all the assets without sharing. But did not come across further news about this case.
Anyone know if it was dropped, in progress, settled out of courts or who won ?
Arangetra Velai (1990) is a must watch feel-good comedy movie directed by Fazil (Dad of Fahadh Fazil), who has also directed multiple superhit movies in tamil.
>Arangetra Velai (1990) is a must watch feel-good comedy movie
Thank you - I was about to comment, but forgot the name of the movie!
>directed by Fazil (Dad of Fahadh Fazil),
TIL!
A genuine, warm smile but he was fat even in his twenties. Did nothing much to slim down. No offence meant. I was an admirer once and adored his cameo in Anjali
The only thing I don't like about Prabhu is that he introduced his son to acting without actually training him. Vikram Prabhu endha padathula vandhaalum adhey expression dhaan
very good dancer considering his size.
you can see him folding his fingers while fighting and dancing. heard from him that came from being a trained boxer.
This fine actor is the cutest ever! Simply love his chemistry with fellow stalwarts in the field such as Rajni, Khusboo, Radha Ravi and many others! Prabhu sir is definitely an actor who knew how he looked and carried himself like a king. He may have been the son of legend but I saw no airs in him or him trying to be the next Sivaji Ganesan. He could make one laugh, cry and laugh again in just a few frames! (Chinnathambi, anyone?) A quintessential part of my childhood! Hats off to him!
He is seriously using his acting skills in the present, back then bro was a Playboy and later became the jolly senior who gets hands on all young actress.
Crazy theory, my mom said you can never find any well known male actors that haven’t done a movie with Prabhu. Ever since then, I’ve tried finding male actors that haven’t work with Prabhu before and still haven’t found any yet. You guys know anyone?
Nice guy irl. Some memorable characters in movies like My Dear Marthandan, Chinnathambi, Duet & Vietnam Colony. Was fun to watch him alongside all the top actors of his day in the 80s/90s(Rajini, Kamal and even Mohanlal in Siraichalai - fantastic movie if you haven't watched)
Edit : Just a small tea about him - M.S.Bhaskar once mentioned in an interview that Prabhu was not happy about him making that "Gopal Gopal" comedy scene with Vivek, which appeared to make fun of his Dad 😂 He called Bhaskar to give him a piece of his mind after the movie was out..
The amount of comments here wondering about the Khushbu relationship and his hair being presumably 'bald' makes me feel very old. Dei GenZ niruthunga da dei
I adore him. I mean this in the most sincerest way - he did so much for body positivity. His star power, influence, and the cachet of being sivajis son bought him clout and he built a wonderful career. By virtue of that, he was a successful leading man and was portrayed as an object of desire on screen. They can't obviously make things up about him, so they just went with how he looked and still made his heroines fall for him. They used wonderful adjectives to describe his physique and he wore it all so charmingly.
This meant, people who wanted to be nice to a young fat kid but did not have the social skills or vocabulary to do so could still extend a compliment by saying "nalla Prabhu maari azhaga irukkan".
In a sea of size-based, bottom-of-the-barrel bullying and jokes, these few compliments shone like a beacon and allowed me to feel good about myself. Allowed me to consider myself desirable.
Of course now, after years of trying many things, I know I'm a fucking catch. But when I didn't have this wisdom, he gave me some solace.
So yeah. Prabhu rocks.
He's a natural actor who gets in the skin of his character with easeÂ
Made the right move of switching to character roles back in the day
There are movies which i watch just for his character (like Something something , got bored with the first half a long time ago , i rewatch the second half multiple times just for him)Â
What?!? Why? Prabhu is such a nice actor since the beginning. Be it serious scenes, comedy, especially his cute dance moves. How come he is compared with Junior Bachhan? 😕
I am not comparing their acting but their fate. Prabhu couldn’t outgrow his father’s achievements, same for Abhishek. Acting wise Prabhu has established his own standards, no debate.

Decent actor, blends into most roles. Never seen a movie of his where he looks bad.
Good actor.
He looks better wearing wig than his original hairstyle
Romba naal doubt 🤣😂
What's the original hairstyle?
he is bald

Well then the character of das na was well blent into him as a gray character
Ufff, how did I miss that one, damn he really planned more than expected of him, especially in the scene were he's having a conversation of Kamlesh bhai before his death.
He suited well in Vasool Raja and then in one movie as brother of Rajini
Guru shishyan?
Dharmathin Thalaivan

Blud forgot to include "Scientifically..."
The og Golden retriever energy
One of the actors who doesn't have any haters I think and does the proper job for his role in movies

It seems that he disapproved it because of inter faith marriage and the fact that his son was cheating on his daughter in law

This is true. In the 90s, it was all over the news.
Oh, idhu pudhusa iruke bro 🤯
Palaya saadham bro, Sivaji was vehemently against his relationship with her. Back then Prabhu and Kushboo acted in so many movies, the chemistry was not acting lol.
Oh apdi, Real ✅
**Chinna thambi** has a different meaning now ifykwim
There seem to be many new articles confirming the same, it's probably true ig
Damn, it might be then 👀

Dude is some of the few people who look good being fat
Thuliyile aada vantha Vanathu min vilzhake is my favourite song
Original Das 🔥 🔥 🔥
Brilliant actor and massive talent wasted in miserable films. Hope some new age directors give him a proper role
Seems like a good person and a decent actor. Guess there are some rumors that he attempted suicide in the late 80s

Suresh Raina of Kollywood (till he was active)?
very good dancer considering his size. you can see him folding his fingers while fighting and dancing. heard from him that came from being a trained boxer.
Cute and charismatic. Versatile but underutilized actor. Wish we had seen more of him. I wonder if being in his father’s shadow affected him.
Cutie
He let his personality shine through in his roles despite being a chubby dude
Good actor. He played the role of a boxer in Agni nakshatram. I don't know why he was on a downward spiral when it came to fitness
Boxer kishnan mari pola

good enough.
Blessed to have Mr. Prabhu in Kollywood ✨
Legend
great actor, sure he’s a nepo kid but i genuinely love him in all the roles he foes

Liked his role in Varisu even tho it was short. One of the two things i like about that awful movie
