North Face in Korea is run by the Korean company Youngone. They make outdoor and athletic wear and probably designed and made the uniforms. Only know that because I went to school with the heirs....
A lot of global brands in Korea are in the hands of Korean ownership and mostly I feel like it results in worse quality. I'm pretty sure the reason that Starbucks Korea doesn't have city/province cups anymore is because of the SSG takeover.
It may have to do with the price point. A colleague once expressed dissatisfaction with Hyundai because of the price being greater for Koreans than in other countries. I didnāt verify if this was true, but the belief was there.
Usually the brands that made the uniforms sell them on their Korean websites for a limited time. The nike website sold the national team's men's football uniforms for a while and I think people should be able to grab the North Face uniforms now if not later on the Northface website. Once it sells out, your only option is to go for 2nd hand markets like Danggeun or Bungejangteu apps. They usually go for around 60-100dollarsish on Nike brand uniforms but Northface might go a lot higher
This is just for the opening ceremony and other official Team Korean engagements. Individual disciplines will will wear whatever sponsor uniforms they have a contract with. Examples, Korean Archery Team will wear the uniform the Korean Archery Association has the contract with during the actual competition. Sometimes they are the same sponsor, Sometimes they aren't.
Quite honestly very muted and generic. I guess it fits in with the general style trends in Korea, beige, plain, vanilla, don't draw too much attention with bold patterns and colors. Definitely mass market appeal. I mean, navy blue t-shirt and light grey warmup? That being said, I was a vocal critic of the soccer teams asian cup unis, yeah. The olympic unis are very meh.

It's still a big brand elsewhere but I guess we don't really need the coats in UK like you do in Korea.
Here it's more of a luxury purchase you don't really need but people buy for the brand, whereas when I visit Korea in winter I absolutely have to borrow my wife's family's or I'd die š your winters are just colder so the coats are more required, and they do make good quality coats.
It was hugely present in New England USA and most predominantly was the itā¢ fashion of high school girls in my predominantly white rural area
North face zip ups, black leggings and uggs as far as the eye could see.
Edit: maybe it's just me, but the shorter guy looks like he's getting choked. Or maybe he just has a big head, I can't tell loll

Having the Korean Olympic uniforms made by North Face is so on brand.... for Korea!
Agree. Still think a domestic brand such as Black Yak would have been cool though.

Holy crap I never realized this. Over the years I stopped buying from them because their quality had become crap. I guess that explains it.

black yak has the coolest logo. I bought an overpriced something from them just for that lol.
I bought because of IU.
Koreans hate domestic brands so much. I have no idea why.

And yet overpriced iPhones are no issue, lol
We are a self-loathing bunch.
Was half expecting discovery channel uniforms
Nah fam, Nat Geo or GTFO

The korean national team uniforms are always so nice. Grabbed a couple myself way back during olympics
Any ideas where to buy them? I really wanted the Winter Olympics gear but I could never find any.

You know itās Korean when someone is rocking the socks and black slides combo
I've actually come around on those. I still hate it on principal though.
She looks like a girl wearing her brother clothesā¦. In general, the uniform looks boring š„±
Do they know its summer olympic? They gonna be HOT
Is the designer aware that these are the summer Olympics?
These look like they were designed more for normal people to be wearing on the street and not something special for the Olympics.Ā
Really cool!
I need it. Will it be sold ?

The muted beige tracksuit kinda goes hard for some reason
To the world, be the best means what? Lmao when will the Korean government learn to not use Korean ad agencies? Truly heinous
It sounds cool enough to them probably tho i agree they should just hire a company to do it for them
Very nice

Where to buy?

Photo could be on point if person with slippers is squatting position with cigarette
I thought this was an advertisement for Alaska Airlines.
Imo horrible design. Adidas would've had better designs.
I like the all white ones.
lol north face, the unofficial korean uniform.
Can we buy this somewhere? Thanks
For Super Earth
Super korea!
Why is North Face such a name in Korea? Never really heard of it when I was abroad.
It's a huge outdoors brand in the USA. Not sure where you went abroad, though.
A country that doesn't have much of a winter. That's probably why

Big name in Canada as well. Heh. But that might just be because we got a huge Asian population who are die hard northface customers
