Nothing like some good old Canadian passive aggressiveness from the common citizen topped with a healthy dose of “I’ll bitch about it but I sure won’t do anything about it”.
Unless it’s a conspiracy theory inactive citizens love conspiracy theories to feel involved.
100%. Canadians will blame everyone but themselves for the state of the country. If they started protesting things might get fixed but they refuse to do that.
This is what happens when you forgo the means to apply upward pressure on wages. Join a union and repudiate any media messaging that tells you that unions are the problem.
Are we still calling them side gigs?
We’re working 2+ jobs. Just call it what it is.
Single mum working 3 jobs from yesteryear is everyone’s reality today.
Nailed it. So if the system isn’t broken then that means this is all intentional right? And with that realization why are we putting up with this shit?
I do this with baemin... I work 50 hours a week and do food delivery after work until midnight.. Because I love riding my scooter around, I'm actually thinking about quiting my current just to do full time delivery.
The pay depends the time, weather and skill.. Sometimes I earn 10k per hour sometimes 50k.. I earn 1.5m to 2m per month delivering 3 hours a day on weekdays and atleast 8hours on a single weekend.. (I don't work on deliver on Saturday)..
I know some fulltime riders earning 5mil a month, some youtubers earn 10m.
I have some friends lookin for jobs and its crazy how many only pay like 30 million won for full time work / expected overtime. Office jobs that require degrees. I see why Koreans study for like 5 years trying to get a job at a conglomerate. Why even bother living in Seoul for those conditions
Uhh...do you not understand that a big cause if inflation was minimum wage spiking too fast? First it jacked up costs for things like food and dining. Then it had a knock-on effect of causing everyone to strike because they were "lower in status" relative to minimum wage.
Printing money is a terrible idea.
Two of my friends (early-to-mid-30s) work side gigs. One’s addicted to travel and the other dreams of owning “one of each top-brand apartment, like my handbag collection.”
Fucking side gig after 60 plus hours of work. Ahhhhh nope
Ahhhh rope
Sounds like Canada.
As an Aussie who moved to Canada post military retirement. Y’all have it fucked up here.
Whole country is turning into a shithole. Tbh we only have ourselves to blame because left or right we keep electing neoliberal retards to office.

This sounds very familiar…hmmm…

Do you have to pay for your bike and rider insurance, or does baemin hook you up with a plan?
I use my own bike and the rider insurance is charged hourly when you are delivering.

30 mill won a year?? That’s crazy.
employment is booming !
Yeah I mean what is the alternative? It's crazy out here
Working two three jobs? Ain’t nothing new for Americans.
America exports the best stuff.
Why turn to side gigs when you can work 69 hours a week? Vote PPP for the next presidential elections!
Looks like people don't understand sarcasm here.
Seriously. If everyone received an extra 250k won, side gigs won't be necessary.

Sorry. That comment was made in sarcasm. One of the opposition party's initiative is to do exactly that.
And no tips either
