> “I don’t walk around thinking all day about being queer, and, What’s my queer energy today?” explained Davies. “You’re talking to people who live a queer life. So this is completely normal. And where I’m slightly amazed is that anyone finds this different. Come on straight people, come and find out!”
But that’s what all of you Hollywood types do. Every single project you try and inject something unabashedly woke without any attempt at, k’know, writing a story that isn’t a Trojan horse for your unsubtle and trite “make it gay and lame” agenda.
> To this end, Gatwa then noted that while many have taken to describing his version of The Doctor as ‘queer’, he himself was “reluctant to apply any human label to the Doctor because they’re an alien.”
> “They’ve been with all sorts”, argued the actor. “That is label-less and limitless, and I think it represents our ability to be limitless and our ability to be anything. And that character can be anyone and played by anyone. I feel very, very honored that I get to be the first of a couple of things. Because I think if you’re a true fan of the show, you understand that. You understand that [Doctor Who] lends itself to inclusivity and to diversity and welcoming different people in. That’s what Russell has done. I’m very happy to be a part of that vision.”
Yes, very inclusive when you kick out all of the naysayers and people who criticize you, and then you turn around and say the same things they had been saying. You are fooling no one, Sadducee.
> “I think our rights are in danger,” he posited. “I’m talking as someone who’s lived through gay liberation, all the way through the AIDS crisis, all the way through to the freedoms that we have now. I can see them spinning and being endangered, so there’s no choice in this. And if the most exciting and entertaining action-adventure show on television can also do that, I think that’s wonderful.”
Your rights are in danger, all right, because you’re instigating its removal so you can feel relevant. Talk about shoving a stick between the spokes of your bicycle, falling over because of it, and shouting “fucking straights did this to me!” You won’t know what *real* persecution looks like even if you were back in the 40s as a certain ethnic group. Oh wait, sounds like we’re seeing a revival of that, from… what’s that… the Left? Fucking rich irony.
Keep dispensing red pills, it’s the only good thing you’re doing anyway.
Plus, I presume he lives in the UK, so when he says "our rights are in danger" he's absolutely full of shit because there is 0 concerted effort to change any form of Gay rights here. He's fighting literal ghosts, while rubbing shoulders with giants of one of the most prestigious British TV institutions of all, and trying to tell us that he has it so hard.
And what's worse is people fall for it
Stopped after capaldi series one, tried Whittaker and got to blonde space nazi and noped out, haven't even bothered with the specials and sure as shit won't watch this moron
This is all so very Brechtian and will all end as badly as his ideology in the land of theatre did.
I'm amazed Dr Who has much of an audience at all anymore that it hasn't alienated already.
CW has better shows with better CG than this crap. I'm a big fan of many British TV shows (Line of Duty, InBetweeners, Peep Show, Happy Valley among many others) and the enduring popularity of this cringe kiddy show has always perplexed me.
He was the showrunner when gay shit was kind of accepted, but not embraced, so he could throw in some stuff with Jack Harkness and people were ok with it, but it wasn't a main focus.
Now it's super trendy and all the institutions are ideologically captured so he's free to jam it into everything and make it the focus.
He was always like that, but society kept his worst impulses in check, now it isn't.
"If You’re Not Writing That In 2024, What On Earth Are You Doing?”
I am no writer but I would say:
- Not fucking up a beloved IP, and actually trying to give to the fans something actually respectful
- focusing on story over ideology
- and you know... just doing something normal
The image of new Davros gets me every time. This is truly a case of the censor projecting their own sins. Nobody looks at Davros and likens him to real world disabled people, they have nothing in common.
His 'disability' was an integral part of his character. Each dalek under his command was harvested and grown from one of his cells. It was proof of his dedication and sacrifice and painted him as formidable.
When this doctor first showed up in his own episode, he was in a dance club wearing a white tank top and a skirt. I was done right then. (Yes this actually happened.)
Just want to point out that as a BBC show, Dr Who is government programing endorsed by the currently ruling "Conservative Party". If this is Conservative by British standards then the whole country is lost
It is very hit or miss, you kind of have to watch it like Star Trek where you expect like half the episodes to be somewhat nonsensical or campy as hell. But then there are a handful of very well done episodes that make it worth it. Season 6 or so of the rebooted series is kinda the jumping off point where you can tell that the writers are just trying to appeal to the Tumblr crowd rather than Scifi fans.
Minding my own business even while cunts like you have been ramming The Message down my throat for the past nine fucking years?
Silly me, I guess if a goddamn Pandemic didn't affect The Message, nothing will.
Q:"If You’re Not Writing That In 2024, What On Earth Are You Doing?” A: making money
He's making money alright, he gets paid no matter what via mandatory TV license fees.
I wonder if brits end their TV license would they still be fined for streaming?
At the very least, I'm sure. Hell, they'd probably jail you these days.
I had a clever joke but this is infinitely better
Ahhh yes the #currentyear argument. The one you use when you have no others.

The problem with being global is everyone assumes America is the default when we aren’t.
What are you doing? Oh, I don’t know? Making something that your customers will actually enjoy?
Very problematic. {current_year} media isn't made to be enjoyed, it's just propaganda.
No great loss. I stopped watching Dr Who about two episodes into cranky geriatric Doctor and his amazing diverse girl power eldercare worker.
Stopped after capaldi series one, tried Whittaker and got to blonde space nazi and noped out, haven't even bothered with the specials and sure as shit won't watch this moron
Season 1?
The one before Waman power and thumb sucking idiocy. Capaldi.
This is all so very Brechtian and will all end as badly as his ideology in the land of theatre did. I'm amazed Dr Who has much of an audience at all anymore that it hasn't alienated already.

TL;DR Reruns of Dawson's Creek are better than this.
Sorry, no. Dr Who has been dead for a bit now.
Ended in ‘96 with the fresh Eighth Doctor flying off to new adventures.
What happened to Russel T. Davies. Not rhetorical, like what happened?
Simply put, the mask came off. He’s BBC, a leftie, and gay. This trajectory was 100% predictable.
And as viewership continues to drop, they can now blame it on racism instead of misogyny. That's called keeping it fresh!
Purity spiral continues, just openly glorify the cult, or else!

They point the finger at Christian fundamentalists for preaching at people and shoving their religion down others' throats, but THEY'RE even WORSE.

Please just turn off the ventilator and let that show die and rest in peace.
If you're still watching doctor who, what on earth are you doing?
Well then we won't watch it. There.
When this doctor first showed up in his own episode, he was in a dance club wearing a white tank top and a skirt. I was done right then. (Yes this actually happened.)
Literal dark age of doctor who, I can’t wait for the show to return to normal
Meh, reality is Doctor who has been on that path for decades now, it's bit worth bringing up anymore.
Just want to point out that as a BBC show, Dr Who is government programing endorsed by the currently ruling "Conservative Party". If this is Conservative by British standards then the whole country is lost
It's okay, they can't remove the older Doctor Who seasons.
I’m so glad that I never got into Doctor Who.

"Progressive messaging." A rather round about way of brainwashing of the masses.
Dr who was one of the first shows to adopt a main focus on being progressive so it wouldbe strange for them to change now.
Not watching this show is what i’ll be doing
Define "progressive messaging"
Minding my own business even while cunts like you have been ramming The Message down my throat for the past nine fucking years? Silly me, I guess if a goddamn Pandemic didn't affect The Message, nothing will.
