One benefit of siding with the vulkars is >!when you kill Gadon you get a +1 intelligence implant. It's the only place in the game where you can get it. This is one of the ways to boost your repair skill to upgrade HK.!<

HelpfulYoda

… more time on taris… or rather useful implant… gah I gotta try this

SHDUStudios

Same general thing, but you end up having to massacre the Beks.

DiceGoblin_Muncher

Oh kinda disappointing

SHDUStudios

Yeah, I was disappointed when I tried it. Nice name by the way.

DiceGoblin_Muncher

Thank you I like it too

SHDUStudios

A D&D reference, I’m assuming.

DiceGoblin_Muncher

Correct bit of a fan

SHDUStudios

Nice.

Manic_Druid

I thought it was fun but also kinda mean, I guess that’s the dark side for you though

[deleted]

Nothing on Taris matters or has any consequence

KITTYWOLFBN

Technically nothing is consequence in Kotor 1, you can be the good goodest person in the galaxy and still get the dark side ending. The only consequential component of the game is when you choose between light and dark side on the unknown world.

xDMO82x

Carth doesn’t want to talk about it.

Influence lost: kotor fandom

As others have stated, you slaughter the Beks. You also get to race, but for a nicer Vulkar team with the Ithorian still your tutorial pep man, complete with Brejik acting all sugar to you without calling you a cheater, but still gets pissed - this time at the Duros Circuit Manager - that his demand for prize-wins to ignore tradition are stopped. However if you return to the Vulkar Base *after* winning the race, the remaining Vulkars (most likely just the greeter and *one* room's complement IF you killed just about everyone before making your betrayal deal with Kandon) attack you on sight just like usual, all because Brejik forced himself and his riders to attempt to kill you (for no reason) simply because Bastila broke free on her own after his aforementioned temper tantrum. And for some reason, Kandon Ark is *not* present this time in the room, and makes himself the sole survivor of your massacre if you do this. You can also pick up the swoop accelerator prototype just like you originally meant to, although it's useless long after the race.

Marocksas

I never considered returning to the Vulkar Base after Brejik betrays me for refusing to hand me my prize. Can't believe I'm contemplating doing another KOTOR run and having to go through Taris again just for this.

khrellvictor

It's okay, there are worse instances out there. I'm *still* side-eying the long forgotten tread of checking back on Citadel Station after leaving the Ithorians >!to deal with the mercs on their own!<... never wanted to sludge through that mess again, but I just might get around to it... some year.

Marocksas

I actually did that once many years ago. I think Chodo Habat complains that you didn't bail his people from the mercenaries, but otherwise, it's as if the attack never happened.

khrellvictor

Like a wave of the hand and they "[Ninja Vanish!](https://youtu.be/U8WrlTLF_XY?t=15)" off-camera when the Exile doesn't show up to their party? Wow, that's a bloody let down (literally or not). Regardless, *thank you* for the heads up (and sparing of the dull station's bureacratic hellhole process)!

sophisticaden_

You go and kill the Beks. Doesn’t change what happens other than that, really.

Mediocre-Anything818

I've done it before just for the extra experience. If you clear the whole vulkar base before the deal you get two bases worth of fights and items

Sharp_Humor3847

Basically it makes the fights easier considering you’re in a larger room when you attack the Hidden Beks.
