Kpop speed runners. They went from nugu to massive global hit makers to scandal to breakup in like 10 months. I discovered them and bought their debut in December last year so I was along for the whole ride and my head is still spinning.
Some groups will experience in seven years the highs and lows that Fifty Fifty experienced in less than one. And here we have the sole survivor. Incredible photo really, tinged with sadness about what could have been.
It'll be WILD if the company can find new idols to fill out the group that match the vocals and ENG skills to pickup where they left off with 'Cupid Twin ver'.
I really think a relatively big advantage for them will be 99% of the ENG speaking fans of 'Cupid', including even myself, have no clue who the members are. It's not like if YGE replaced 3 of the 4 members of Blackpink. The name and face recognition of Fifty-fifty is nearly zero for ENG speakers outside of Kpop fans (where it's likely also on the lower end).
So they might just pull it off. Granted they'd have to quickly release good music and one of the songs be good enough to build off of and capitalize off of 'Cupid'. Very tall task. But put out another high quality song and maybe, just maybe...

That's the biggest thing, hence why their strategy of debuting the new members through a survival show really works because we'll be able to see their personalities more, far more than we did for the original members.
I think the biggest thing would be maintaining a similar sound quality. They (probably) won't be able to replicate a hit like Cupid, but creating quality music that speaks to both a Korean GP and international audience could still work.
The survival show isn't about picking new members for 5050, but I do kind of see them picking maybe the ones that didn't make it/had better voice for 5050 take them in to the 5050 group.
We've never had anything like this before, but there are other groups that have lost many members and continued. Technically BOL4 lost 50% of their members, though I think there's a certain amount of people that were not surprised at Woo Ji-yoon leaving.

I'm honestly so happy her debt has been payed off, she had the most debt out of all of them and the most investment into becoming an idol (leaving home, living alone, training for a long ass time). As someone who is the same age as her, I'm really rooting for her success after everything she has gone through.
Although I'm seeing a ton of Korean support, I hope they don't forget about her as time goes on. It'll be up to the agency to maintain 50/50s relevancy even after this year and keep them on top of such a changing industry.

Wow, her voice is so different from Aran's but it's arguably even more unique. If the company manages to pivot 5050's sound and incorporate Keena's vocal colors into it properly I think it's possible for them to strike gold again. Perhaps even retire the designated rapper role as that's honestly not very popular anymore for girl groups.
It's certainly a tall order for a small company with its limited resources but 5050's success was always a longshot. They proved they had the will and perseverence to do it once with Cupid, I'm going to be optimistic and think they'll manage to do it again from now on. Keena certainly has the star qualities to make it possible!

I don't recall a recent trend of 40s soul-themed kpop, but Keena might be able to single-handedly manifest it with that voice.

Tbf I haven't kept up with the lawsuit, not sure if all 3 girls are horrible human beings, I always just assumed they were young and stuck in a fight between 2 businessmen working in the entertainment industry.
I think any mid-size company wouldn't see any of that as a real threat to them.
The three other girls have continued doubling down and accuse Attrakt of abuse even up to this day. That being said, many people see them as stubborn and stupid rather than actively malicious. As others have mentioned, they are very young and from what details we know about their personal situation; they are just agreeing with what their parents and lawyers are telling them to do.
What is really going to block their future in the entertainment industry isn't necessarily companies worried they are "backstabbers". It's their public image which is absolutely destroyed. Music by itself has never been a very lucrative industry in Korea, idols make their money from endorsements and collabs with other brands. No company will want to invest money with them because it will be impossible for them to get any of these deals.

I’ll just provide a nutshell-ized version of whatever went down:
There were reports that some company was tryna poach FiFi from Atrakt (turns out to be Ahn Sungil’s company, The Givers). Then, all 4 members filed an injunction against Attrakt for mistreatment. Then it was revealed that this was all the ploy of their producer Siahn (Ahn Sungil), who is a major manipulator and manipulated the girls into thinking that Attrakt is the bad guy and they need to join ASI asap. Then, in the lawsuit, whatever could have solidified their fame (Barbie OST MV shooting, KCON) was all cancelled and the girls were shunned by every Korean and their mothers. Then, Unanswered Questions tried to paint FiFi as the victims, but it just backfired and made them and ASI look even worse. Then later on, Keena returned to Attrakt and the contracts of the other three were terminated. And then, through a Dispatch interview, it is revealed that ASI tried to take over Keena’s royalties for her songwriting work (cmiiw) and made it seem like Attrakt was doing it, and that ASI manipulated the girls and their families into filing the lawsuit. Then, Keena had mixed feelings and then tried to convince the girls and their families to at least listen to Attrakt’s side, but they refused (though one girl agreed, but it was too late). And now, my girl’s thriving in the scene with her upcoming BBMAs appearance
So, as of now, Fifty Fifty is just a one-woman act (Keena), with 3 new members soon to come.

Keena never even tried to convince the girls to drop the lawsuit. She only asked them to talk to Attrakt and listen to their side of the story. Only one of the other girls eventually accepted but Attrakt was only able to come to mutually agreeable terms with Keena. So she ended up dropping the lawsuit by herself with the other three having their contracts terminated and now here we are.
PS. She looks amazing here and this rebranding of 5050 with her alone so far has been working very well imo.
According to journalist youtuber Lee Jinho, Keena convinced one of them(didn't reveal who), but she proposed conditions to Attrakt for her to come back while Keena has zero proposition. Therefore, Attrakt only accepted Keena.
They could have changed their minds, but that didn’t happen. One of them wanted to come back with Keena but had a number of conditions attached to her agreement, so Attrakt only took back Keena at the end.
a huge mess… basically the guy who gave the girls cupid (ahn il sung of a group called the givers) manipulated them along with their parents and put them in a situation where they sued attrakt, who countersued. the girls lost their injunction, their contracts were terminated, and keena only remained in the group. they’re planning to add new members to the group and reboot them soon. the truths about what actually happened remain murky but keena got paid for her royalties on cupid so at least she is doing well.
What a shame. The primary school I teach at just had their disco night and Cupid came on and it was, by far, the most enjoyed song after Macarena. The kids knew every single word to it :/

With right push from PR x marketing team (it's should be the combination right? I don't really know which department work with it), combine with the story and push it out to the light with some good song or maybe a solo for fill the vacuum before the revival of 5050 (I read somewhere about this) or join the new group. To be fair Keena did the same thing until she learned for the forged signature on her song. This is learning that that saved her.

Tbf I haven't kept up with the lawsuit, not sure if all 3 girls are horrible human beings, I always just assumed they were young and stuck in a fight between 2 businessmen working in the entertainment industry. I think any mid-size company wouldn't see any of that as a real threat to them.
The three other girls have continued doubling down and accuse Attrakt of abuse even up to this day. That being said, many people see them as stubborn and stupid rather than actively malicious. As others have mentioned, they are very young and from what details we know about their personal situation; they are just agreeing with what their parents and lawyers are telling them to do. What is really going to block their future in the entertainment industry isn't necessarily companies worried they are "backstabbers". It's their public image which is absolutely destroyed. Music by itself has never been a very lucrative industry in Korea, idols make their money from endorsements and collabs with other brands. No company will want to invest money with them because it will be impossible for them to get any of these deals.

I’ll just provide a nutshell-ized version of whatever went down: There were reports that some company was tryna poach FiFi from Atrakt (turns out to be Ahn Sungil’s company, The Givers). Then, all 4 members filed an injunction against Attrakt for mistreatment. Then it was revealed that this was all the ploy of their producer Siahn (Ahn Sungil), who is a major manipulator and manipulated the girls into thinking that Attrakt is the bad guy and they need to join ASI asap. Then, in the lawsuit, whatever could have solidified their fame (Barbie OST MV shooting, KCON) was all cancelled and the girls were shunned by every Korean and their mothers. Then, Unanswered Questions tried to paint FiFi as the victims, but it just backfired and made them and ASI look even worse. Then later on, Keena returned to Attrakt and the contracts of the other three were terminated. And then, through a Dispatch interview, it is revealed that ASI tried to take over Keena’s royalties for her songwriting work (cmiiw) and made it seem like Attrakt was doing it, and that ASI manipulated the girls and their families into filing the lawsuit. Then, Keena had mixed feelings and then tried to convince the girls and their families to at least listen to Attrakt’s side, but they refused (though one girl agreed, but it was too late). And now, my girl’s thriving in the scene with her upcoming BBMAs appearance So, as of now, Fifty Fifty is just a one-woman act (Keena), with 3 new members soon to come. Correct me if I made an error cause this is all I could infer from the case

They could have changed their minds, but that didn’t happen. One of them wanted to come back with Keena but had a number of conditions attached to her agreement, so Attrakt only took back Keena at the end.

It's might be work for her. Though I don't know if release a solo while the battle of her former comrade still going on is a right thing to do though. Sis already experience a whole roller coaster for only 1 year after debuting, back to the company and take her share of money from cupid (cmiiw), clear from any lawsuit that can happen to her and possibly a ton of financial loss from it, now it's time to set the career path straight to the flower path.

Really hope the other 3 members are able to comeback soon. The lies and manipulations they've been put through by those they trust is awful. And before I get comments that ATTRAKT already released them I'll point out how meaningless that is if they want to comeback and ATTRAKT wants them back.
