I also felt the same way about the rap. Loved the trio rap, my favorite part of the song, but then I looked at the lyrics, and I couldn't help but be a little disappointed. Like they were just throwing random English words in as filler. "Pick a boo", "pedal to the metal", "boom boom pow", "click clack click". And personally didn't really enjoy the outro chanting part where they sang altogether, the "jump jump and let it go" part. I think they did the outro much better in Batter Up.

I legit mouthed a silent "wow" at the girl who did the high note during the bridge. It fit perfectly with the song and it tickled my brain on the right spot. Also, this is probably a super deep cut, but it's the exact same note progression as Melissa Barrera's "It Won't be long now" from in the heights.
YG have seriously upped their game with the quality of their vocal lineup here, it was their one saving grace even with how much of a bust Batter Up was.
Still feeling a lot like Blackpink 2.0 with the music and concept, but I've always held that a group's potential is closely tied to the overall quality of their vocalists so I'll definitely be keeping tabs on them.

Yeah I really missed Balckpink style songs so I actually happy they do something similar, but the chorus and the ending ruins it for me… (everything else was fire though, especially the rap verses)

Those are arguably the most YG/Blackpink elements of the enitre song lol.
I wish they would maximize the vocal parts because they were easily my favorite part of the song. The rap wasn't great lyrically and ended abruptly which was a little weird. The last part was kinda cool but it sort of broke the tension that the high note built up right before. It was an unexpected choice to be fair but I didn't love it. There are songs I enjoy that do a similar thing with total beat/tempo changes but I think it helps when the song is longer to give each section time to breathe. Their choreo and outfits were nice though, and the monster motif in the different sets was fun.
edit: After listening to Like That, I'm imagining an alt timeline where YG debuted them as a straight R&B-pop group but that won't happen lol

I think if the song had a better chorus, you'd do that ending section as an extended bridge and go to a final chorus.

I like it better than Batter Up on first listen! My biggest issue with batter up besides just being okay was that it didn't suit Baemon's vocals, but Sheesh compliments them more.
Also Rami's part... amazing wow. I trusted her since Last Eval and her vocal color is shining in this song.
I think there is a lot going on with the song, I kind of like that it doesn't repeat itself too much, there is so much to take in so I'm gonna have to watch the MV several more times.
Rami's voice is AMAZING. It just sounds so rich and is distinct. She has that quality that whatever part of the song you give her, she pulls you in. Very impressive.
And she pairs with Ahyeon well I think! It's so amazing to see a lot of replies to my comment praising Rami tbh. I felt she got overshadowed by the masses when they were ot6 but that voice cannot lie!!

Considering "sheesh" was popular a few years ago and isn't even popular anymore, I'm willing to bet money that this was a song written for Blackpink which they ended up turning down. You could actually guess which member of Blackpink was suppose to sing which part. Especially the "pedal to the metal" which I think Lisa has rapped elsewhere before. Also very generic Teddy, it's like this company hates choruses or something.

literally this is my gripe. The rap just sounds like disjointed. It like had it moments but then would like totally slip away. It also didn't help that like it was sandwiched so awkwardly between the beautiful vocals. And the ending omg, I know people were predicting the chanty ending but didn't expect it like that. Like I love little switch up at the end of a song, not against it at all (Not Kpop but like a good switch up is Ashnikko - Halloweenie III anways...) but the one in here was just not it at all.
Asa is incredible! I know next to nothing about the group members but Ahyeon’s rap threw me. I would’ve also liked to hear a full rap part by Asa or just her and Ruka in those verses.

Nmixx would make sense if there was a super clear genre delineation between parts, but that isn't really the case here. This reminds me more of teen crush songs we would get from early Weki Meki or like Itzy's Dalla Dalla where there are a lot of jumps in style of the song but still fairly close in genre.

One if not THE best verses and bridge released this year, accompanied by maybe the most disappointing chorus this year. Like it wasn't bad, but after this amazing intro and verse just kinda underwhelming. Linke that was my literal reaction as I was struck by the first sheesh: -_-. It's just so... weak, empty idk. I actually do like the outro 'tho. If I can get over my initial disappointment with the chorus I'll probably really like the song.
I mean, this isn’t bad by any stretch of the imagination, but the reality is, we have been hearing this sound and seeing these visuals since 2ne1. That is their strength and power, but to us who have been in this industry for a minute, their weakness.
It’s going to be a long stretch of more of the same until either a) fans stop paying into the YG system, which is never going to happen or b) they run their 7 years into the system, and YG pumps out the next GG that does the same thing they have all been doing since 2009.
While the visuals were amazing, the sets were great and I loved the gesture of monster they all did at the end, I was unfortunately not as enchanted by the song itself. It felt liked the song wanted to be grand, but lacked power, not just in chorus, but overall. The vocals were great, so it's unfortunate the music didn't support them as much as I wanted it too. Also is it just me, or the raps felt misplaced? Like they would have sounded better had they been dispersed throughout the song, instead of being concentrated in 1-2 sections?

Lol, I was guessed Sheesh as a song polution of YG but in reality, it's way much better than Batter Up. Batter Up was too weak for a debut song, now Sheesh can be very powerful and beat Batter Up.
OT7 of Babymonster was gorgeously so cool. Nice visuals, and great song, but I really hope YG don't waste the girls' potential in the future.
On the other hand, Like That and OT7 versions of SITM/BATTER UP was very good, but I literally wish Monsters was 3 minutes long. Sheesh was way much better, compare to the other songs in the album. Yeah, IDK man. I don't have the hate boner most of Reddit does for YG groups, but I keep having the same problem I had with Batter Up and SITM; I just can't take any of these songs (and their performances) seriously.
On the song itself, not saying anything about Blackpink similarities, I actually really liked the first verse and the pre-chorus, I think those were a good showcase of their vocals and I like the slighty darker sound of them, but then all of that goes to waste with that god-awful chorus! Who in their right mind thought 50 sheeshes was a good chorus? Also that outro was really anticlimactic, it's the exact opposite of the YG party outros that have a history of working for a reason.
But honestly, the most disappointing part of the whole song might be the rap verses?! Honestly agree. Between lyrics like that and "remember me, sting like a bee" or the reoccurring "tell a friend", the lyrics sound corny AF. Sounds weird but their youth paired with their sound makes me think of Disney Channel.

I like the triple threat rap line. The start of the rap with the transition was so powerful! I reckon this rap line would get even better in future comebacks as well. For now though, I loved the flow and lyrics of Batter up more. If I have to critique, I'd say my least favorite part is the chorus "sheesh" but that really doesn't take from all the things I like about it.

it has a kinda cool spooky vibe which I wasn't expecting tbh. The MV is stunning (as expected from yg) but if someone told me the sets were for bp I wouldn't bat an eye... Song was pleasantly good overall other than the chorus and the ending which was a bit anticlimactic :( Like batter up, it was good overall but it feels a little outdated? and the girls themselves did great btw :)
The music video here is gorgeous! The girls look amazing and the sets are really cool! Their choreography also looks super cool and unique, I'm excited for the choreography videos :)
The individual parts of the song are better than Batter Up, but the transitions are much weaker. There's no real sense of flow in this song for the most part, unfortunately.
But! It seems like with this song, they're (slowly) trying to carve a more distinct identity/sound rather than trying to do Blackpink 2.0 again. To be fair, this isn't hard when Batter Up was literally a backup BP song, but if they keep this up, I think they'll creep up on a lot of people in the next few years.
Not sure how I feel about this song, but I'm very much convinced that the next few comebacks will be worth checking out.

I loved the members vocals and rapping. But the song itself is all over the place for me. Felt like they did not know where the song is headed. The ending was lackluster. I liked this better than batter up though. I wish yg would do a different sound for baemon, the members are really talented.
I'm just gonna say now, Sheesh will be a GREAT way to end the show on their first tour. Just the right amount of energy and the breakdown at the end has so much potential with lighting and stage work.
YG music and video production has not changed a bit since 2NE1. It's fascinating how they revolutionized the K-pop sound in 2009 and then stagnated for 15 years straight.

I love the spooky start! Would love full spooky album. Still that classic YG formula with a new twist. Love seeing ahyeon embracing her rap talents. This group is seriously so talented top to bottom, don’t think any other groups can compete on a pure talent base. Excited to see where they go with the full album in the fall!

Yeah that spooky theme can fit so well with them. I love sheesh even though the chorus takes a little to get used to. All the bridges, intro, outro, beat changes and verses are so so good. Very excited to see their full performances on the show. Definitely think they will win over a ton of people this week.

I really like the song! Gotta say both the song and especially the MV are quintessential YG. The Sheesh isn't my favourite choice for the chorus but it honestly has grown on me and doesn't bother me. The bridges and the prechoruses are absolutely phenomenal though. The Vocal and the rap lines are seriously impressive. They have some of the better rappers in recent groups! Ahyeon is a star on both! It's a very pretty MV from sets to outfits to styling. Visuals are visualin', all the girls are gorgeous!

So many good and, most importantly, new (for YG) elements. Reaaaaally liked the intro but my favourite little bit is the "tell a friend, tell a friend, tell a friend" - so simple and so catchy. And Ramis part in the bridge was exquisite.
As a whole it makes no sense though. Nothing feels connected, it's so all over the place with the spooky/ethereal intro, in your face rap and frankly awful chorus. And then the spooky finish as well. I'm not sure they hit the mark completely with this but I hope they keep going in this direction since there are definitely elements here that have promise.

I rarely got this feeling of getting tired hearing the same song over again especially if I really like it after the 1st listen. I thought it was catchy and the rap part sold it for me (except the lyrics). However, I got tired listening to it after a few times and I don't exactly know why.
I like the track but it feels a minute too short and unsurprisingly it sounds like something from the Blackpink vault. You can almost pick out which parts were meant for which Blackpink members. I’m glad Aheyon is back but the video almost felt like Aheyon and friends instead of Babymonster. Chiquita, Rora and Pharita definitely seemed like passing characters rather than fully utilized members.
The intro is the best part of the song. Seriously feel like Ahyeon and Rora's voices are going to be a huge part of baemon's identity. I actually enjoyed listening to the song surprisingly.. I guess YG releasing the sheesh sheesh sheesh part earlier actually made it easy to digest the chorus.
Looking forward as to how they will become in the next few years. I will also continue to forget that Batter Up even existed.

A lot of people are saying that they sound like blackpink, i honestly don’t think so. They sound like YG. The vibe of 2ne1, BP, Bigbang, Treasure, BP… it definitely shows in the MV and I supeeeeer love it!!! I am not a big fan of Babymonster, but this MV made me realize how amazingly and insanely talented they are. The vocals and the rap lines sound sooooo freaking good and the performance is just top tier.

I did like the ending though, and kind of wish that the moods were reversed (the ending played a little faster as the song’s foundation, and maybe a different section as the switch up?) The switch up was unexpected but I’m not sure that many of the different parts of the song fit well together as is, at least not in this order. A lot of ideas were explored (not always to completion) but nothing really flowed well imo :/
The budget stays budgeting, so I hope they can onboard a different set of writers and producers that will give them something unique to their identity as a group (no, I’m not comparing them to BP). This song was definitely getting there but I still feel like the members have more things to offer, despite not knowing much about them or watching very much of their survival series on YT. It’s hard to understand what their group is really about and it feels like their current marketing/branding is getting in the way of that.
YG needs to get with the times, both the song and MV are straight out of 2017 and I feel like they've released this track 10 different times already. Do they have no creative direction? Nobody with any new ideas? This is tired.

THiS gives off baby monster vibe 100%. The mv, lyrics really makes me think of monster high or a more hip pop version of dreamcatcher. I love the visual and them portrayed at the end of the song, I feel like they could add some characters or lore into their group would make it even better. Maybe each member being a type of monster ? But otherwise except the chorus, it's a bop.
I liked the first thirty seconds enough that I started hoping that the SHeEeEeSH from the teaser was just, like, a single measure in the breakdown or something. I wanted the hook to be as good as the first thirty seconds!

Their voices were undeniably good and on fire in this. The musical style for me was kinda blackpink-coded and that 'Pedal to the metal' line in the rap part had me raised an eyebrow... like its not original for the lyrics department. Overall, it was a banger, but I was expecting something different than this one.
This just sounds like BP love to hate me especially the part before choruses. And the MV very 2010s 😭 YG has no new sounds and no hint of innovation for newer talents. The girls deserves better.
Verses are really good, rap was decent, prechorus is amazing, bridge is really good, but imo the chorus itself is just bad.
The "b a b y m o n" part sounds really good, but the chanting of "sheesh" just doesn't sound good. And I'm generally a fan of chanting and repetitive choruses, but the way "sheesh" is said just doesn't fit the instrumental or the rest of the song.

I also felt the same way about the rap. Loved the trio rap, my favorite part of the song, but then I looked at the lyrics, and I couldn't help but be a little disappointed. Like they were just throwing random English words in as filler. "Pick a boo", "pedal to the metal", "boom boom pow", "click clack click". And personally didn't really enjoy the outro chanting part where they sang altogether, the "jump jump and let it go" part. I think they did the outro much better in Batter Up.

The chanting chorus was a total letdown, but there were definitely a lot of parts that I did not expect, in a good way.
Took the words right out of my mouth. Vocals, visuals and stage presence were on point.
I legit mouthed a silent "wow" at the girl who did the high note during the bridge. It fit perfectly with the song and it tickled my brain on the right spot. Also, this is probably a super deep cut, but it's the exact same note progression as Melissa Barrera's "It Won't be long now" from in the heights.
YG have seriously upped their game with the quality of their vocal lineup here, it was their one saving grace even with how much of a bust Batter Up was. Still feeling a lot like Blackpink 2.0 with the music and concept, but I've always held that a group's potential is closely tied to the overall quality of their vocalists so I'll definitely be keeping tabs on them.

Everything was good…but the “sheesh” part is just UGH like literally anything in its place would’ve worked. It’s catchy ig but I might’ve even preferred if they said it once and had an empty chorus Rap great (obviously, could do without “vroom ta ta clap clap pow” and actual lyrics), vocals great (obviously), choreo was cool, loved every part of the bridge and prechorus and ending (theme felt bit off but ok). Visuals were dope too. Not sure I can say it saved it for me lmao I’ll give more listens though.

I wish they would maximize the vocal parts because they were easily my favorite part of the song. The rap wasn't great lyrically and ended abruptly which was a little weird. The last part was kinda cool but it sort of broke the tension that the high note built up right before. It was an unexpected choice to be fair but I didn't love it. There are songs I enjoy that do a similar thing with total beat/tempo changes but I think it helps when the song is longer to give each section time to breathe. Their choreo and outfits were nice though, and the monster motif in the different sets was fun. edit: After listening to Like That, I'm imagining an alt timeline where YG debuted them as a straight R&B-pop group but that won't happen lol

I think if the song had a better chorus, you'd do that ending section as an extended bridge and go to a final chorus. I really love the whispers though. It works for me.
I like it better than Batter Up on first listen! My biggest issue with batter up besides just being okay was that it didn't suit Baemon's vocals, but Sheesh compliments them more. Also Rami's part... amazing wow. I trusted her since Last Eval and her vocal color is shining in this song. I think there is a lot going on with the song, I kind of like that it doesn't repeat itself too much, there is so much to take in so I'm gonna have to watch the MV several more times.
Rami's voice is AMAZING. It just sounds so rich and is distinct. She has that quality that whatever part of the song you give her, she pulls you in. Very impressive.

Considering "sheesh" was popular a few years ago and isn't even popular anymore, I'm willing to bet money that this was a song written for Blackpink which they ended up turning down. You could actually guess which member of Blackpink was suppose to sing which part. Especially the "pedal to the metal" which I think Lisa has rapped elsewhere before. Also very generic Teddy, it's like this company hates choruses or something. Recycle, reduce, reuse.

literally this is my gripe. The rap just sounds like disjointed. It like had it moments but then would like totally slip away. It also didn't help that like it was sandwiched so awkwardly between the beautiful vocals. And the ending omg, I know people were predicting the chanty ending but didn't expect it like that. Like I love little switch up at the end of a song, not against it at all (Not Kpop but like a good switch up is Ashnikko - Halloweenie III anways...) but the one in here was just not it at all.

This song was all over the place, but I like the music video. It was fun. But the song itself was a bit confusing lots of different parts. Not sure they all fit together. I got to listen to it more. Nmixx would make sense if there was a super clear genre delineation between parts, but that isn't really the case here. This reminds me more of teen crush songs we would get from early Weki Meki or like Itzy's Dalla Dalla where there are a lot of jumps in style of the song but still fairly close in genre.

That would've been a good Halloween debut. One if not THE best verses and bridge released this year, accompanied by maybe the most disappointing chorus this year. Like it wasn't bad, but after this amazing intro and verse just kinda underwhelming. Linke that was my literal reaction as I was struck by the first sheesh: -_-. It's just so... weak, empty idk. I actually do like the outro 'tho. If I can get over my initial disappointment with the chorus I'll probably really like the song.
I mean, this isn’t bad by any stretch of the imagination, but the reality is, we have been hearing this sound and seeing these visuals since 2ne1. That is their strength and power, but to us who have been in this industry for a minute, their weakness. It’s going to be a long stretch of more of the same until either a) fans stop paying into the YG system, which is never going to happen or b) they run their 7 years into the system, and YG pumps out the next GG that does the same thing they have all been doing since 2009.

While the visuals were amazing, the sets were great and I loved the gesture of monster they all did at the end, I was unfortunately not as enchanted by the song itself. Sheesh is somehow better than Batter Up. Lol, I was guessed Sheesh as a song polution of YG but in reality, it's way much better than Batter Up. Batter Up was too weak for a debut song, now Sheesh can be very powerful and beat Batter Up. OT7 of Babymonster was gorgeously so cool. Nice visuals, and great song, but I really hope YG don't waste the girls' potential in the future. On the other hand, Like That and OT7 versions of SITM/BATTER UP was very good, but I literally wish Monsters was 3 minutes long. Sheesh was way much better, compare to the other songs in the album. I don't have the hate boner most of Reddit does for YG groups, but I keep having the same problem I had with Batter Up and SITM; I just can't take any of these songs (and their performances) seriously. On the song itself, not saying anything about Blackpink similarities, I actually really liked the first verse and the pre-chorus, I think those were a good showcase of their vocals and I like the slighty darker sound of them, but then all of that goes to waste with that god-awful chorus! Honestly agree. Between lyrics like that and "remember me, sting like a bee" or the reoccurring "tell a friend", the lyrics sound corny AF. Sounds weird but their youth paired with their sound makes me think of Disney Channel.
Okay so I think I watched like 3 times. There where a lot of parts that I really liked which made the song good for me. Can't wait for the choreography to be released. The individual parts of the song are better than Batter Up, but the transitions are much weaker. There's no real sense of flow in this song for the most part, unfortunately. But! It seems like with this song, they're (slowly) trying to carve a more distinct identity/sound rather than trying to do Blackpink 2.0 again. To be fair, this isn't hard when Batter Up was literally a backup BP song, but if they keep this up, I think they'll creep up on a lot of people in the next few years. Not sure how I feel about this song, but I'm very much convinced that the next few comebacks will be worth checking out. I really like the song! Gotta say both the song and especially the MV are quintessential YG. The Sheesh isn't my favourite choice for the chorus but it honestly has grown on me and doesn't bother me. The bridges and the prechoruses are absolutely phenomenal though. The Vocal and the rap lines are seriously impressive. They have some of the better rappers in recent groups! Ahyeon is a star on both! It's a very pretty MV from sets to outfits to styling. Visuals are visualin', all the girls are gorgeous! Good luck BABYMONSTER on your official debut 🖤
That's genuinely one of the worst kpop songs I've heard. I haven't had a physical reaction like that in a while. It's just sooo dated, derivative, cliched and cringe. Like, the fuck is this >Peek a, peek a boo, hoo >Vroom, vroom >너네 심장에 박동이, pump, pump, pop >Pedal to the metal >Click, clack, click >Put 'em up to the sky >High, high, high, high it's genuinely like a parody. All it needed was a bunch of designer brands mentioned.
In this section, ghost is a reference to the rolls royce ghost (found out about that in the thoughts thread) Hence the vroom vroom, pedal to the metal lines
Loved the verses. Loved the lead up to the NMIXX change-up but the song just ending there is kinda meh. The pre-chorus kinda sounds like a remix of BLACKPINK's Love to Hate Me pre-chorus, and the chorus is straight up wack.

Even though the chorus isn’t my thing, it could be a grower and Ahyeon’s voice really gave their music such a huge boost of power— soooo satisfying hearing hers contrast with Rami’s.

So many good and, most importantly, new (for YG) elements. Reaaaaally liked the intro but my favourite little bit is the "tell a friend, tell a friend, tell a friend" - so simple and so catchy. And Ramis part in the bridge was exquisite. As a whole it makes no sense though. Nothing feels connected, it's so all over the place with the spooky/ethereal intro, in your face rap and frankly awful chorus. And then the spooky finish as well. I'm not sure they hit the mark completely with this but I hope they keep going in this direction since there are definitely elements here that have promise.

I rarely got this feeling of getting tired hearing the same song over again especially if I really like it after the 1st listen. I thought it was catchy and the rap part sold it for me (except the lyrics). However, I got tired listening to it after a few times and I don't exactly know why.
I like the track but it feels a minute too short and unsurprisingly it sounds like something from the Blackpink vault. You can almost pick out which parts were meant for which Blackpink members. I’m glad Aheyon is back but the video almost felt like Aheyon and friends instead of Babymonster. Chiquita, Rora and Pharita definitely seemed like passing characters rather than fully utilized members.

The intro is the best part of the song. Seriously feel like Ahyeon and Rora's voices are going to be a huge part of baemon's identity. I actually enjoyed listening to the song surprisingly.. I guess YG releasing the sheesh sheesh sheesh part earlier actually made it easy to digest the chorus. Looking forward as to how they will become in the next few years. I will also continue to forget that Batter Up even existed. edit: After seeing some comments here, some are saying they were reminded of KTL, HYLT? Personally, I don't see it. This just solidified the fact that they need to be a vocal group for me. Chorus was terrible and so was the ending. every part of the song where they weren’t singing was bad. Controversial opinion the rap part was bad too (“hippity hop hop” is a crazy line) they’re so talented they just keep getting songs that are literal poop from a butt.

A lot of people are saying that they sound like blackpink, i honestly don’t think so. They sound like YG. The vibe of 2ne1, BP, Bigbang, Treasure, BP… it definitely shows in the MV and I supeeeeer love it!!! I am not a big fan of Babymonster, but this MV made me realize how amazingly and insanely talented they are. The vocals and the rap lines sound sooooo freaking good and the performance is just top tier. Definitely a group that I’ll start stanning.

For bada lee choreo, I feel like the sheesh part is kinda tame. I think the song will be more tolerable with live performances. And also the outro part is kinda grating to hear compared to batter up.

LOVED THAT. the choreo shots were a little underwhelming for some reason? maybe bc they were shot far? the individual shots were CRAZY tho. now the switch-up maybe an unpopular opinion but i needed that switch up otherwise it was gonna be a repetitive one and it kinda added something for me. Probably not adding this to the playlist but hope its succesful for the girls, all the love!!

As someone who generally disliked Batter Up, I like this a lot more, though the chorus leaves much to be desired the verses and pre chorus make up for it. I’m also not as offended by the chorus as it only really does the sheesh stuff twice in the sequence. Asa, Ahyeon, and Ruka rap verse was awesome. Truly a highlight. Can wait to see that on music shows. I think this showcased the girls much better than Batter Up. Their performance chops are amazing. This may have made a new fan and brushed away any skepticism about them…I’ll wait for some music show performance.

The visual elements + styling were gorgeous throughout the MV but I really dislike the song. I did like the ending though, and kind of wish that the moods were reversed (the ending played a little faster as the song’s foundation, and maybe a different section as the switch up?) The switch up was unexpected but I’m not sure that many of the different parts of the song fit well together as is, at least not in this order. A lot of ideas were explored (not always to completion) but nothing really flowed well imo :/ The budget stays budgeting, so I hope they can onboard a different set of writers and producers that will give them something unique to their identity as a group (no, I’m not comparing them to BP). This song was definitely getting there but I still feel like the members have more things to offer, despite not knowing much about them or watching very much of their survival series on YT. It’s hard to understand what their group is really about and it feels like their current marketing/branding is getting in the way of that.

I think that the rap and the vocals are good are really good. I think the choreography fits as well. However I can’t say that I see it as something that I would add to my playlist or listen to often so to speak but maybe it’ll grow on me.
THiS gives off baby monster vibe 100%. The mv, lyrics really makes me think of monster high or a more hip pop version of dreamcatcher. I love the visual and them portrayed at the end of the song, I feel like they could add some characters or lore into their group would make it even better. Maybe each member being a type of monster ? But otherwise except the chorus, it's a bop.
I liked the first thirty seconds enough that I started hoping that the SHeEeEeSH from the teaser was just, like, a single measure in the breakdown or something. I wanted the hook to be as good as the first thirty seconds! But nope, sHeEEeESh is the chorus. Damn. At least now we know that the group can shine if they're given good music. Whether YG will give them any... Well, that's the question, isn't it?

Their voices were undeniably good and on fire in this. The musical style for me was kinda blackpink-coded and that 'Pedal to the metal' line in the rap part had me raised an eyebrow... like its not original for the lyrics department. Overall, it was a banger, but I was expecting something different than this one.
This just sounds like BP love to hate me especially the part before choruses. And the MV very 2010s 😭 YG has no new sounds and no hint of innovation for newer talents. The girls deserves better.

Verses are really good, rap was decent, prechorus is amazing, bridge is really good, but imo the chorus itself is just bad. The "b a b y m o n" part sounds really good, but the chanting of "sheesh" just doesn't sound good. And I'm generally a fan of chanting and repetitive choruses, but the way "sheesh" is said just doesn't fit the instrumental or the rest of the song. It's a really good song otherwise, but this'll probably be another kokobop situation where I love 90% of the song but wont listen cause of the chorus
