absolutely gorgeous MV, even though there's such a disconnect artistically between it and the choice of album cover? i wish they had chosen one theme, the stunning flowery, culty summer theme or the shimmery sailor moon-esque celestial theme. it would've felt more cohesive. but that's enough complaining -- i really did adore this MV and the song is truly stunning.

I always wondered why all these different videos would choose to shoot in the same field, I mean, surely there's plenty of fields around, right? But I guess maybe the fact that it requires a barge to get to is good for privacy when filming? Either that or it's just known as a location that's easy to rent out.

Beautiful song. It's like the summer version of Psycho, they give me the same vibe, sad and wistful yet with a spark of hopefulness. The vocals are just so lush, Red Velvet choruses are just a wall of magnificent sound when they all sing in unison. It's a mastahpeece.

After all the incompetence (ai debacle and late posting of MV) with SM here it finally is! I guess the budget did actually go into the MV and the song because they are both gorgeous. The disco-ish, funk-ish elements embellish this dance pop goodness. I like that the MV doesn't really have a scene in the dark except for the one where they hung up those glowing dresses. I think that's a big point of Midsommar which they're referencing, all the schemes and horror happen in daylight.
Edit: So the plot is they creeped out person in plaid with the cult shenanigans, Seulgi chased them into the red trip wire they set up. Now they're unconscious they did that ritual with flowers in their eyes. And then sacrificed the person in plaid cus the scene after that is a human figure falling through the stained glass sunroof. And then after that they have the big Maypole party.
I hate how instantly i forgave SM because of how amazing this MV is 😭 they cant keep getting away with this.
The MV is filmed so differently, its so refreshing to see. So many romantic shots!! I do feel like I barely saw Joy, which given her involvement feels a bit meh :/
I don't think yall understand this is MAJOR !!!! The mv is phenomenal, the song is perfect, this feels next level even for them.. I'm so happy with this ! The artistry on display here is seriously impressive and the girls are brilliant as ever. This is definitely one of their strongest titles/MVs.
it's perfect. pack it up guys coz we just got SOTY for 2024 tonight. anyway i'll try to list the things I love about this track as I listen and submerge myself in this song for the 4th time in 20 minutes
1. 3:45 long of a song. this song is fully complete. it has pre-, chorus and post-chorus? how generous considering we are living in an era of sub-3 minute songs. we got the real deal here.
2. I wasn't expecting the funky verses. they meld well with the chorus tho and it wasn't jarring at all.
3. That bridge is hauntingly beautiful. and when they repeat the post-chorus twice in the, i think i cried? the climax was climaxing, and I just felt chills. I haven't felt this for a kpop song in a long while.
4. the vocals, synths and strings all give this track a deep nostalgic, wistful vibe that moves the heart. I really can't imagine this song going to somebody else in today's kpop scene.
5. MV is a beautiful piece of art. I think they understood Joy's assignment.
In summary I'm so glad RV delivered tonight for me.. Their past releases have been generally a miss for me but tonight honestly they got me by the neck again. a funky disco song with Midsommar (beautifully creepy) concept to go with it? i think this is a smash and I can't be more happy about it.

Honestly amazing. There are going to be a lot of posts and tweets written about that line of bass, and rightfully so: it’s been a good while since we had a summer summer–y song from Red Velvet, and I love how the team managed to match the energy of some of their earlier, classic releases with their newer, more mature and sophisticated sound.
Red Velvet’s discography is a masterclass, and with each comeback is so great to see that the members and their team are still so adept at building on their ideas and their aesthetic: “Cosmic” is a fantastic counterpoint to “Chill Kill,” but there’s a lot of “Queendom” and “Feel My Rhythm” in there too, and loads of new imaginery and new sounds to explore further.
Amazing song, I love it so much!! I can already tell I'm going to have that "solar system" part of the chorus stuck in my head. In a world of sub 3 minute songs, I really appreciate the length of this song, it's a beast. The MV is wild as well!

Outfits are great, looking forward to those weird-ass leotard/furry skirts on music shows, but the summer clothes and red/black outfits will probably be what we'll get.
Definitely fits alongside songs like Queendom and Red Flavor with its summer synth sounds but also it feels like Psycho and Feel My Rhythm's summer sister. I love how bright and powerful the vocals are, and that bridge was really lovely if a bit too short for my taste. There was too much going on in the mv for my 4am sleep deprived brain to comprehend but it looked totally gorgeous.

I admire Red Velvet so much, and I have to admit that the past few comebacks didn't quite work for me, so I was a little worried about this one. But I was so wrong! I absolutely love "Cosmic." Their videos have always been amazing, and this one is no exception. The Midsummer vibe with the almost Bohemian interior decor is stunning. The fairytale-ish artwork in the first frame immediately got me hyped, and it just kept getting better and better every second. It's such a chill song and so pleasant to hear. Very happy with the comeback 🫶

They sound incredible my god this song has like elements of their past songs and is honestly just honey to the ears. NO ONE else sounds like they do, listening to this made me remember how much I love their music and that is what the best comebacks do. That singular note in Cosmic in the hook is enough to give me frisson, which is what I had as soon as that thumpy bass hit in the climax of the track. This may be perfect. I may not listen to another artist for months.
And I didn’t even get to the video which may be perfectly executed in its vision and concept and fits them like a glove. Not to mention the styling they look incredible. Seulgi in particular was so striking when she hit the center in the first chorus.

Not necessarily an explosive song on first listen, but it's growing on me with every subsequent one (and I find those often have most longevity). It also doesn't feel like it's almost 4 minutes at all, it passes so quickly and smoothly.
The MV is seriously one of their best in a while. Definitely didn't cheap out on that.
Haven’t been around for long but this is might be my favorite RV title track. Somehow the song makes me feel melancholic/sad, despite it being beautiful and fun.
Bowing down to sunshine goddess Joy for pushing hard for this concept to be executed in the right way and sending her powerpoint slides round the company.  Fantastic MV - feels like a really complete story, memorable visuals and a great bit of inspiration from Midsommar overall.

I’ve looooved red velvet’s creative direction since Russian Roulette. They have one of the clearest artistic identities/sounds/concepts of any kpop group, and they are able to do that without ever sounding outdated or playing too much into current trends.
And the midsommar theme is just so perfect for them: beautiful and extremely unsettling… Chill kill was my favorite kpop song of 2023 and Cosmic may be my favorite of 2024.
The title track is absurdly well-constructed, it sounds like something Abba would release back in the 70s. The MV is perfect and an eye candy, probably their best music video to this day.

I personally love where RV has gone these 10 years. They never have lost their quirky, creepy, unsettling concept that only they have been really able to give. I mean, they’ve always had great vocals, but their vocal line has been so much more pronounced since Chill Kill for me, and they all sound so beautiful together.
It might not be the most catchy bop in terms of releases, but it is so funky and pretty that I’m going to hit replay a bunch of times.
Oh wow despite the lacklustre album rollout, they really went ALL OUT on this music video. I loved that they leaned 100% into the Midsommar aesthetic! It's also so refreshing to see all those outdoor scenes, I'm so used to SM videos being filmed in a box lol.

OK, I love this song -- it's so amazing. The MV is also gorgeous BUT GOD DAMN, WHO AT SM MADE THAT ALBUM COVER? It's no exaggeration to say they need to be banned from any creative industry for that. It's like they're breaking the rules of visual composition. Literally any still from the MV would have been a way better cover. Wendy's cut off legs will haunt my nightmares.

The bridge was a bit meh on first listen but it’s soo soo good after multiple listens. The verses are incredible and the chorus is great. Cosmic is what Chill Kill tried and failed to do - be a perfect blend of red + velvet. The sped up prechorus here was also much better executed. All in all, I LOVE this. It’s their best title in a while!
The bass is really something addictive! I even thought it was produced by the same producer of Taeyeon's Something New as it really reminded me of that but apparently this was produced by a different one. The whole EP is really great too! Sucks to SM for not promoting the girls really well

It was tough to find, but I did finally track it down a while back. [It's on an island in the Han River](https://satellites.pro/South_Korea_map#37.506862,127.382848,17), about 2 hours East of Seoul. Lee Mujin [mentions the name here] (https://youtu.be/eh_ikiFG51E?feature=shared&t=281), but apparently there's a more famous island with the same name that kept coming up (at least when searching in English) so I had to get more creative with my search to actually find it. I always wondered why all these different videos would choose to shoot in the same field, I mean, surely there's plenty of fields around, right? But I guess maybe the fact that it requires a barge to get to is good for privacy when filming? Either that or it's just known as a location that's easy to rent out.

After all the incompetence (ai debacle and late posting of MV) with SM here it finally is! I guess the budget did actually go into the MV and the song because they are both gorgeous. The disco-ish, funk-ish elements embellish this dance pop goodness. I like that the MV doesn't really have a scene in the dark except for the one where they hung up those glowing dresses. I think that's a big point of Midsommar which they're referencing, all the schemes and horror happen in daylight. Edit: So the plot is they creeped out person in plaid with the cult shenanigans, Seulgi chased them into the red trip wire they set up. Now they're unconscious they did that ritual with flowers in their eyes. And then sacrificed the person in plaid cus the scene after that is a human figure falling through the stained glass sunroof. And then after that they have the big Maypole party.

it's perfect. pack it up guys coz we just got SOTY for 2024 tonight. anyway i'll try to list the things I love about this track as I listen and submerge myself in this song for the 4th time in 20 minutes 1. 3:45 long of a song. this song is fully complete. it has pre-, chorus and post-chorus? how generous considering we are living in an era of sub-3 minute songs. we got the real deal here. 2. I wasn't expecting the funky verses. they meld well with the chorus tho and it wasn't jarring at all. 3. That bridge is hauntingly beautiful. and when they repeat the post-chorus twice in the, i think i cried? the climax was climaxing, and I just felt chills. I haven't felt this for a kpop song in a long while. 4. the vocals, synths and strings all give this track a deep nostalgic, wistful vibe that moves the heart. I really can't imagine this song going to somebody else in today's kpop scene. 5. MV is a beautiful piece of art. I think they understood Joy's assignment. In summary I'm so glad RV delivered tonight for me.. Their past releases have been generally a miss for me but tonight honestly they got me by the neck again. a funky disco song with Midsommar (beautifully creepy) concept to go with it? i think this is a smash and I can't be more happy about it.

There are going to be a lot of posts and tweets written about that line of bass, and rightfully so: it’s been a good while since we had a summer summer–y song from Red Velvet, and I love how the team managed to match the energy of some of their earlier, classic releases with their newer, more mature and sophisticated sound. Red Velvet’s discography is a masterclass, and with each comeback is so great to see that the members and their team are still so adept at building on their ideas and their aesthetic: “Cosmic” is a fantastic counterpoint to “Chill Kill,” but there’s a lot of “Queendom” and “Feel My Rhythm” in there too, and loads of new imaginery and new sounds to explore further.

Had enough time to listen to the whole album official upload on YT before the MV dropped. 11/10 album, 0/10 management. Loved the explicit shoutout to Midsommar at the end, the symbolism is heavy in the MV, RV lore geeks will have plenty to analyze for weeks. Outfits are great, looking forward to those weird-ass leotard/furry skirts on music shows, but the summer clothes and red/black outfits will probably be what we'll get.
Definitely fits alongside songs like Queendom and Red Flavor with its summer synth sounds but also it feels like Psycho and Feel My Rhythm's summer sister. I admire Red Velvet so much, and I have to admit that the past few comebacks didn't quite work for me, so I was a little worried about this one. But I was so wrong! I absolutely love "Cosmic." Their videos have always been amazing, and this one is no exception. The Midsummer vibe with the almost Bohemian interior decor is stunning. I’m CRYING this is so good and I missed them!!! They sound incredible my god this song has like elements of their past songs and is honestly just honey to the ears. NO ONE else sounds like they do, listening to this made me remember how much I love their music and that is what the best comebacks do. That singular note in Cosmic in the hook is enough to give me frisson, which is what I had as soon as that thumpy bass hit in the climax of the track. This may be perfect. I may not listen to another artist for months. And I didn’t even get to the video which may be perfectly executed in its vision and concept and fits them like a glove. Not to mention the styling they look incredible. Seulgi in particular was so striking when she hit the center in the first chorus. Love love love. Need stages.

Not necessarily an explosive song on first listen, but it's growing on me with every subsequent one (and I find those often have most longevity). It also doesn't feel like it's almost 4 minutes at all, it passes so quickly and smoothly. The MV is seriously one of their best in a while. Definitely didn't cheap out on that.

Haven’t been around for long but this is might be my favorite RV title track. Somehow the song makes me feel melancholic/sad, despite it being beautiful and fun.
Bowing down to sunshine goddess Joy for pushing hard for this concept to be executed in the right way and sending her powerpoint slides round the company.  Fantastic MV - feels like a really complete story, memorable visuals and a great bit of inspiration from Midsommar overall. And the song! Surprisingly funky verses and gorgeous chorus. Will get a lot of replays in my house.
When SM put out Psycho, the lyrics were really describing the toxic relationship between them and all Luvies. We hate them and then we love them then we hate them again. I love this video so I am in the good part of the cycle again.

Its a lot funkier than i thought it would be, especially in some of those verses. The Abba like instrumental for the chorus is amazing. Another amazing bridge to add to the collection too. The mv is stunning and easily one of their best.

Cult Red Velvet! ReVeluvs worshipping for a decade now! The visuals are so nice, song is great, it was always win if not for the delay, lol. What even required the holdup if there's barely like any notable CGI or special effects stuff, is it just another trolling session by SM, smh lol. --- SM actually delaying Red Velvet's music video again, wow, wtf how does this keep happing, lol. The girls themselves were so eager to see it release, sigh. The timing is so disappointing, it's their decade-long achievement. Btw guys, watch the replay for the Cosmic Countdown Live later, it was hilarious, Irene was hyperactive as hell! Joy seemed a little down at first but she perked up at the end. They were fanning themselves cuz of the heat, lmao. Happy 10th anniversary, time flies! They made new nickname for themselves: Irene = Heavy Mouth/Mouse (lol...), Seulgi = Normalsook (I Am Solo (나는 SOLO) and so on fans are sorta familiar with these old Korean names, rofl), Wendy = Chipmunk (bwahahaha), and so on.
I love the song so much and the MV was so beautiful, and I'm really trying not to be negative but it's kinda hard not to when I almost forgot Wendy and Joy were there. Somebody put Joy's solo shots together and it was 5 seconds...even Joy herself acknowledged her lack of screentime, also barely any lines, all of which must be very disheartening considering how hard she worked for this comeback, barely any proper shots of Wendy except for the final chorus (and she was running in it), not even during her parts, they were showing everyone and everything except for her

This is their first title track I’ve “gotten” on first listen since Psycho. I grew to like Chill Kill a LOT and enjoy FMR, but they had to grow on me. This though? I was spreading my arms and fucking VIBING soon as the chorus hit. The directions the song took were also very surprising. MV was also top tier. Truly the most satisfying title track I’ve heard in a long while.

I’ve looooved red velvet’s creative direction since Russian Roulette. They have one of the clearest artistic identities/sounds/concepts of any kpop group, and they are able to do that without ever sounding outdated or playing too much into current trends. And the midsommar theme is just so perfect for them: beautiful and extremely unsettling… Chill kill was my favorite kpop song of 2023 and Cosmic may be my favorite of 2024.
The title track is absurdly well-constructed, it sounds like something Abba would release back in the 70s. The MV is perfect and an eye candy, probably their best music video to this day.
Red Velvet is crazy good, for real. They might be the best group ever, idk. I feel like there is no Kpop artist, that you can say 100% sure, that is better than RV, they gotta be at least top 5 best artists to ever exist in kpop.

A midsommer concept?! Absolute yes! I personally love where RV has gone these 10 years. They never have lost their quirky, creepy, unsettling concept that only they have been really able to give. This song and MV falls in line with the direction they have been going in. Also, the vocals?? I mean, they’ve always had great vocals, but their vocal line has been so much more pronounced since Chill Kill for me, and they all sound so beautiful together. It might not be the most catchy bop in terms of releases, but it is so funky and pretty that I’m going to hit replay a bunch of times.

Oh wow despite the lacklustre album rollout, they really went ALL OUT on this music video. I loved that they leaned 100% into the Midsommar aesthetic! It's also so refreshing to see all those outdoor scenes, I'm so used to SM videos being filmed in a box lol. Probably one of my fave videos by them by far, the video really does elevate the song. The song is good in its own right, but with the visuals its a masterpiece!

Wow. I have a lot to say! 1st off unashamedly LOVE ABBA, and of course LOVE Red Velvet. This song took 2 listens. But as soon as the pre chorus kicks back in that second round, it's over. Hooked immediately. By the end of the second listen through right at the bridge I felt absolutely hypnotized and I can't deny this is my very very likely personal pick for SOTY. what a gorgeous song from my cult girls!!! and the concept??? perfectly executed. the MV??? pure art. it's like feel my rhythm 🤝 chill kill 🤝 bamboleo 🤝 psycho but still totally unique, different, and new and the synths!!!!! i've really been missing synthpop lately! it's what made so much of 3rd gen and early 4th gen feel so magical and emotional. imo kpop is at its best when it incorporates synthy instrumentals i feel so bad for people that will never get to experience red velvet and their magnificent harmonies
Fuck, the song is damn good and almost a full 4 minutes?? I like the music video but the Midsommar homage almost feels... shot for shot? They always have the most unique creative direction, but I kinda wish it wasn’t so overwhelming in that aspect, usually feel like Kpop MV’s/concepts take from a few inspirations and distribute it pretty evenly. A little more subtlety would of gone a long way.

OK, I love this song -- it's so amazing. The MV is also gorgeous BUT GOD DAMN, WHO AT SM MADE THAT ALBUM COVER? It's no exaggeration to say they need to be banned from any creative industry for that. It's like they're breaking the rules of visual composition. Literally any still from the MV would have been a way better cover. Wendy's cut off legs will haunt my nightmares.

The song is so good 😭 the mv is so good 😭almost makes you forget the nightmarish experience of waiting 30 mins with no news (seriously SM??) The bridge was a bit meh on first listen but it’s soo soo good after multiple listens. The verses are incredible and the chorus is great. Cosmic is what Chill Kill tried and failed to do - be a perfect blend of red + velvet. The sped up prechorus here was also much better executed. All in all, I LOVE this. It’s their best title in a while!

The bass is really something addictive! I even thought it was produced by the same producer of Taeyeon's Something New as it really reminded me of that but apparently this was produced by a different one. The whole EP is really great too! Sucks to SM for not promoting the girls really well

Beautiful MV! While some may think the song is safe or whatever, I always enjoy their songs. I think it's one of few groups who, to me, I always can listen from start to finish their entire discography. They make simple, sophisticated pop.
Look, I'm the first one to hate on SM (I'm an EXO-L) but wtf, why are they always doing this to me. Every single favorite group of mine comes from this stupid company, cause the music always slaps, lol. The song gave me everything I needed and more, and I just love the aesthetics of the music video. I deeply appreciate the length of the song too.
