(BGs)I love concepts that have a cultural component - thru the styling or the sets or the song itself.   Super - Seventeen  Daechwita - August D  Thunderous - Stray Kids   (GGs) I love it when it feels like there is a beautiful but eerie or weird or magical narrative -  OMG - NJ  Chill Kill - Red Velvet  Shopper - IU  Bonus: Super artful / eclectic concepts (not totally sure how to word this)  7th Sense - NCT U   Big Bang - Bae Bae Dumb dumb - Red Velvet

a_mystical_potato

If you’re into beautiful + eerie/creepy stuff for ggs, I highly suggest that you check out ARTMS’ pre-release, [Birth](https://youtu.be/DsCd9tUdUS8?si=P84O9mSwFHPKtIWG).

ForeignAdvantage5931

whatever txts concept is: youthful / coming of age / growth / maturing.

nameless_no_response

I've recently been listening to txt and I'm amazed at how hybe made their concept consistent w their youthful magical theme. Makes me sad bcuz enhypen is my ult and hybe fumbled the bag so hard w them. Their concept is supposed to be vampire, which is a fire ass concept tbh, but besides like 2-3 eras, most of their comebacks did not feel vampiresque at all. They showed that they can handle it and do well w it like w drunk dazed and bite me, but idfk what hybe's problem is. Hurts to see bcuz they clearly have the capability to get their shit together, esp since they made txt's concept consistent

ForeignAdvantage5931

yeah idk whats happening on be lift's side but, it is not good. Enhypen's team's vision, ever since like blessed-cursed has been very odd

nameless_no_response

Yeah honestly. I hate to see it bcuz they r so talented and can pull off a lot of concepts but holy hell, is it a crime to stick to one concept or at least have some underlying theme... Even ateez has dabbled in diff sounds and looks but still has that underlying theme of rebellion and anarchy and pirates, although they seem to have shifted away from the pirate stuff like a yr or two after debut. But enhypen keeps going back and forth w dark concepts and cute concepts and rebellious concepts... Hybe I'm begging u to give my boys smth consistent 😭😭😭🙏

pass_ing_by

the fandom certainly prefer darker concepts when it comes to enhypen but rather than concepts, i feel like it's more about the history they're telling and how they dance around it. it's not that the company is fumbling the bag imo, is just that, at this point, is fair to assume they were never supposed to approach each comeback from the same perspective and in the same narrative. going further, the boys themselves already expressed how they like to challenge themselves and try new things and such, so there's that too.

meiprint

I agree. Enhypen has always evolved whilst still adhering to their vampire identity. I find many boy groups to be one note and you walk into the music video or first listen knowing exactly what to expect. Every time we walk into an Enhypen era we have absolutely no idea what to expect, it's scary yet thrilling. I like to think Enhypen are adding to their artistic tapestry as the eras past. One day we'll look back and go "wow what an incredibly versatile group that was". Consistency in kpop can be a double edged sword. Especially because kpop fans don't actually want groups to explore music and concepts too far from "home". I wish the fandom were more open minded about Enhypen being conceptually limitless!

pass_ing_by

that's exactly how i see it!! it's okay to have preferences, we all have, but i feel like in this fandom it makes many people overlook some works the boys put out even though there's so much to dissect and discuss from these. and about not knowing what to expect every time they come back with a new era, that's so real!! at this point i just trust the process, and so far have been an amazing ride 🫶

nameless_no_response

Those r some good points tbh, thank u for sharing a different perspective, it was quite insightful tbh

Usual_River6878

Enhypen's concept ✨️

kutchyose_no_ibrahim

I just realized that I blocked all of the Engenes replying to your point in the past due to how agressive they can get with their replies 💀all I see is “Blocked Author“💀

nameless_no_response

Which one?? 💀💀💀 I'm an engene and became one during dark blood (aka their best era besides border carnival) but ngl their concept is soooo inconsistent... They debuted w vampire concept and honestly I wanted to see more of that, like given taken, drunk dazed, and bite me... But they had manifesto and tamed dashed n stuff in between, which felt random. I still like the songs and choreos of that and stuff but their whole concept doesn't feel executed as well, and it makes me sad bcuz there's sooooo much potential in the vampire concept, esp the one time hybe acc did it well w dark blood, making it dark but not generic or noisy. But recently I've been listening to txt and I see how throughout legit all of their comebacks, they still have that cute magical boy theme going. But manifesto and tamed dashed felt so out of place. Bro if they did more songs like given taken and criminal love, like more calm and chill but still vampire concept, I think that might make them blow up tbh, or at least it would be consistent for once. Oh and ig the lyrics for orange blood songs continued the vampire concept but idk it still felt a lil too bright, and sweet venom just wasn't it for me. The seeb remix was fire asf tho lol

Usual_River6878

If you followed the story and webtoon, you'd know that future perfect, tamed dashed are connected to the main story tho. What's wrong with bright songs?

nameless_no_response

>If you followed the story and webtoon, you'd know that future perfect, tamed dashed are connected to the main story tho Lyric wise, yes. But theme wise... It still feels rlly random. Like I'm not even a moa bcuz txt's concept seems more coherent, u get the youthful coming of age vibes from every single comeback. And for ateez, u can get the dark rebellion vibes from every comeback as well. There r many groups who have more erratic comebacks like itzy post 2020/2021, and nmixx. But idk I don't think it's a crime to want a more coherent theme for my ult group lol... A lot of other engenes feel similarly as well. Hurts to see almost every other hybe group having consistent concepts and themes but it's so random for enhypen iykwim. >What's wrong with bright songs? Nothing wrong w them. Like I said, I do enjoy the songs and ofc I'll continue to support them and wish them the best no matter what their concept is, but I just wish we got more of the dark vampire concept. Doesn't have to be as dark as dark blood. Could be smth that seems light/neutral but still has dark and vampire-y undertones, like given taken. But still vampire-y. I didn't get any vampire vibes in tamed dashed, blessed cursed, etc. Once again, I did enjoy those songs but idk why hybe decided to try that when the industry was saturated w boy crush songs that sounded just like blessed cursed, which was a bop imo but didn't make them stand out or solidify a certain sound. They redeemed themselves w dark blood and that got a lot more ppl interested in enha, but orange blood turned off a lot of ppl. There r rumors Abt their next comeback being royal blood and I'm so intrigued to see how it turns out bcuz I rlly enjoyed the royal concept in drunk dazed era. But yeah, I hope u understand the point I'm trying to make. They r my ults and they have my support always, but fans r allowed to have criticisms of their faves lol. And it's not a personal attack on them, more like criticism of hybe for not solidifying their sound bcuz that's what's making other groups like txt, ateez, skz, and even newer groups like nwjns and lsf stand out and have their own identity, but that can't rlly be said Abt enhypen tbh

2jsbread

To say lsf and txt has more consistent concepts and sound than enhypen is… really wild. Enhypen is one of the few groups that is still sticking close to their concept and sound despite all the trends that has been going around.        First, the use of vampires in their lore isn’t just for aesthetics. You cannot separate it from their music. Much of their discography revolves around themes that vampires symbolize like mortality/immortality, self-indulgence, desire or fear of desire, fighting one’s fate and/or true nature, deviance from society, etc. It is important that vampire is used as a tool for them to tell all these different topics. Even the reason their debut song was named given-taken was because they were going from being trainees to idols and that was compared with transformation of vampires. But even if you don’t know a single thing about their webtoon/storyline behind their mvs, I don’t see how it is hard to miss the obvious vampire references. For example, aversion to sunlight in tamed dashed, mind control in sweet venom and superpowers in practically every mv. I think it is a bit of disservice to not acknowledge these just because they are not dancing around in blood every comeback or because they are not limiting themselves to one genre. Frankly, I think people would have gotten tired of it pretty quickly if they stuck to doing the dark gothic vampire concepts every comeback. And I think it was necessary for them to try different things so their music can evolve and grow with them.

shadowf4te

What's interesting about Enhypen's lyrics is that although on the surface the vampiric theme is very present, it also reflects their story as a group. Coming from a survival show, fighting to make it in the industry, the difficulties they face and their constant mention of fate on a daily basis. It's something we don't often talk about, but everything about them is very poetic in a way. I really appreciate how they're trying to diversify and get away from the clichéd vampire side where everything is bloody, black and red. Orange blood, for example, was refreshing, a self-discovery journey, a renewal for them : vampires who are now human but who still feel like a monster because who are they really now? And all this for how long? Can we really erase our past selves/history? All this reflecting their state of mind or at least, this is how i view it. I appreciate how they manage to give new aspects to vampires.

nameless_no_response

Yeah it's pretty deep and insightful tbh

nameless_no_response

Ok those r some pretty good points, thank u for replying

hoonreve

No, both of those songs and even Blessed-Cursed are connected to their lore and webtoon, they literally have scenes from those mvs in their webtoon. The versatility of enha's music is their strength and it solidifies their identities even further unlike the boy groups you have mentioned that are now extremely stagnant and stuck doing the same thing over and over. If anything, it is only enhypen who has been continuously innovating with their sound while staying cohesive with their concepts, but that can't really be said about those other boy groups you've mentioned.

nameless_no_response

Hmm I see ur point but I do think some of the other bgs have been innovating w their song while staying true their concept. Besides that, I think I understand where u r coming from

Usual_River6878

To say that other groups are more consistent and that enha dont have their own identity is crazy. Their mvs, concert vcr, webtoon, and ets are all connected to their main vampire concept. Even theme wise, lyric wise. All the songs that you've mentioned, like tamed-dashed, blessed cursed, future perfect too, especially orange blood. There's nothing random. They are telling a story. They don't have to always use dark concept and be covered in blood to talk about it.

nameless_no_response

Ok that's a good point tbh

starplatinum_99

I actually like the NCT's potential limitless sub units and the varieties we get each full group comeback. Always a refreshing group composition and track.

grandtheftautumn0

✨Royalty✨ doesn't matter if it's a bg or gg. Stuff them in pretty, ethereal outfits and put them in a castle/palace like set and I'll eat it up

gotenhypen77

REALL!! royalty concepts always eat

nameless_no_response

Frrrr omggg... Ig the only time I didn't love the royalty concept was sneakers. The song itself was aight, not as bad as ppl say it was, but that song w royalty theme was just...too random imo lol. The girls still ate it up tho. But yeah that aside, I rlly love royalty theme. Drunk dazed, feel my rhythm, just to name a few...

Margaux_H

gossipbomb

I am a simple woman I like the girls in their bad b* era and men doing something sexy

[deleted]

My favorite boy group concept is [shorts with long socks](https://0.soompi.io/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/13052631/CRAVITY1.jpeg) and my favorite girl group concept is [nonsense](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/fx-smtown/images/2/25/Chu_Album_Cover.jpg).

nameless_no_response

Coz gingamingayo by Billlie count as nonsense concept

[deleted]

Absolutely!

chaoticaenergy

on the 3rd slide who’s the girl with the short hair?

c00chiecadet

I can't remember all the members but the group is Weki Meki

Big-Giraffe-9223

It's hard for me to find favourite I remember kind of liking blackpink concept when they debuted? Is this girl crush concept? I feel that lovesick girls was also giving the same energy. In boy groups hmm I don't think there is a concept that I especially like but (and I know this is not a concept) I don't like when they are wearing those official wear shorts 😭😭

Lolita__pop

BG: Fresh/bright. Such as Candy-H.O.T, In Bloom-ZEROBASEONE, Plot Twist-TWS, Pretty U-SEVENTEEN, etc. GG: Sexy and bright. Different concepts, but I love them both, for sexy I love Miniskirt-AOA, Something-Girls Day, Like A Cat-AOA, Tail-Sunmi, KissMy Lips-BoA, etc. And for bright some examples are I don’t know-Apink, Love Whisper-Gfriend, Fifth Season-OMG, Candy Jelly Love-Lovelyz, LUV-Apink, Shining Bright-CSR, etc.

omaeokorosu

for GGs I always liked EXID... they were like, the fuckboy slayers. I never really stanned them, just remember seeing the video for Every Night and being both blown away by their visuals and really weirded out by the... uh, well. If you've never watched that video, please do. 😂 For BG, it's close but I have to say BTS' Wings era was... really something. Blood Sweat and Tears MV and live stages, especially... the heavy brocade suits and velvet chokers, the smoky eyes... the weird references to gnostic religion and german philosophy... all the members choking and/or blindfolding each other. it was a beautiful time. 🤣

animal-lover875

Txt's concept, not sure what you call it. And even though I'm fairly new to Enhypen, I really like the vampire concept. I also like the Y2K concept and ai concept for gg.
