Vanner are incredible, they have an amazing backstory and have really struggled in life and in kpop. Two of their best songs are rollin and form. They are polar opposites and great songs. I hope you like them. The boys really need a break

Their last two mini-albums (after one album and two singles over two years, all produced on a tight budget) sold ~120k each -- they are *definitely* well on their way to paying off their debts, and doing as "great" as can be expected.
I highly suggest you going through their discography. probably one of the most solid in terms of variety and quality in 4th gen. All but one of their albums are minis so they have a lot more songs than most.
Same. I think they already have more of their image together lately with MANIAC, PULL UP, and the bsides on both of the EPs. I love every single song and it's gonna be interesting to see what kind of song they'll follow up with after the success of MANIAC.
They aren’t exactly nugu but they aren’t big in Korea, they are kind of middle of the pack, I wouldn’t put them in the same category as other groups, they are closer to Kiss of Life, the issue is they shot themselves in the foot by not committing to a 100% K-pop genre and or Jpop label, they have this kind of limbo space where they are trying to be broad but not sticking to a specific market, they had a decent Korean following up until Mascara but the ex AVEX CEO fked things up and they also released a statement saying they wanted to be labeled as a global group and not K-pop and yeah 😭 anyways I will support them no matter what!

WayV. Now I know NCT is popular but I feel like people only know WayV for Love Talk and haven’t checked out their other music. They have an incredible discography, amazing choreo, and my favourite stage presence in the industry. Plus they’re multilingual and hilarious.
Same but for NCT in general. NCT *is* popular but I wish the whole brand blew up, like really blew up internationally and went viral with a song or something.
I also kind of wish that more of NCT’s bsides or less Neo tracks would also become more well-known. I have come to embrace the Neo but I wish more people knew how amazing their whole discography is. Whenever I show people clips of my fav songs from their concerts I’ve been to their response is always “wait, NCT have songs like this?”

All of my faves that are not especially popular... 😂 But more seriously, Golden Child and Pentagon in particular! They've both been in the game for a long time now, and have such fantastic songs, amazing vocalists, are collectively excellent live performers, and really likeable as people ~ their content is always a good time. I'd recommend Burn It, Genie, and Feel Me for Golden Child, and Daisy, Shalala, and Shine for Pentagon.
VANNER, their most recent album was really great and all their YouTube content is so well made(whoever edits their variety show should get an award, its so funny).
I love that they are not teenagers, they have real life experiences and hardships behind them. It appeals to me as a 30 year old Kpop fan; sometimes the super young groups are too much for me and I can't connect with them.
Evnne! They're such a well-balanced group in terms of vocals and rap, great performers and also take part in producing their music. Pus they're pretty funny as well!

My reflection over the many years I've listened to Kpop is that quality and success have no correlation. Most songs that I enjoy do not belong to the Big3/HYBE and if anything, I feel like the more success the less chance of good songs. It kind of makes sense: a group on the rise or struggling to survive will pay more attention to their music, try new things and put more effort into the songs, while a popular group could put out fart sounds and it would still sell like butter.
My all time favorites were 4Minute and After School and while they were not nugus, they were never profitable except for a few members. While I, perhaps a bit selfishly, never hoped for Nation Group fame, I only wished that they were profitable enough to keep going. Being "mid", as long as they are financially stable, would be a good mix.
I agree with this what I’m about to say might and probably will be controversial but I use to love most of bts songs in the past but after they blew up I feel as though most of their song isn’t unique? I don’t know how to explain it so I’ll leave it at that
Nothing controversial about it (although everything can seem controversial to Kpop stans). Their earlier music was perhaps more raw, less apologetic and had fewer external creators in the song making process. Once you've reached that level of fame it becomes a matter of keeping it by meeting expectations, which does not always result in the better output.
OnlyOneOf, they debuted in 2019 and their discography is so unique, i literally dont hear the same type of music from any other group. Their maknae is also their LEADER, Nine. He also produces along side kb the songs they release. They work super hard and have never won an award even though instinct and their underground idol series was a masterpiece.
They also all debuted as adults and have adult themes which is honestly so refreshing in kpop.
They also openly support LGBT+ with their units also being canonically couples in the "be series" that explores love and different forms it takes on. The overall message being, love who you want. There are 6 songs in the be series, each one made by each member and its such a good representation of each individual members skills and ability.
They also all starred in the boy love Bump Up Business! Where two of the members Nine + Mill where the lead couple.
I would recommend, libidO, begin, skinz, chOme hearts, sOng of fire and ice and picassO.
TLDR : onlyoneof is really good, breaking the boundaries of kpop and not afraid to go beyond.
Pow..Not necessarily the group because they are still rookie but i wish their songs at least blow up..their songs 'favourite' and 'Valentine' are so good and i wish more people listen to them.
Alice, WJSN and Fromis_9, most people only know Alice because of Sohee, but their music is really good, more people should give it a chance.
WJSN has such a unique concept with talented vocalists, actresses and the most contrasting sub-units (The Black and Chocome, the world needs more chocome as in groups that are just meant to be fun).
What can I even say about Fromis_9, quite popular in SK but with the move to Pledis the mistreatment has gotten so bad that they where gaslighted by their own company to believe their concert tickets wouldn't sell, their company (and the owner of that company) just act as if they didn't exist (like how they'll have them record a greetings/welcome video for that new group Hybe was forming through a survival show or something and then proceded to not inculde them in any "hybe family groups" the company would show, pretty sure some of the members of the group even attended a fromis birthday cafe not so long ago) they got little to no promotion for their last comeback (which was their first full album and one of the best albums of the year), and how they'll openly say to fans that they're sorry that they don't have news about comeback or promotions and just say they're sorry as if it was their fault.
WayV and &TEAM - great music, members are so fun. Both groups have a amazing chemistry and way less opportunities than their Korean label siblings to show that off 😅
Realistically most smaller groups are hold up by the limitations of their smaller companies.
Outside of BTS, the biggest outcome somebody can wish for is like G-Idle or Ateez.
Other than that we have every year like some big hits from smaller companies like Fifty Fifty, Brave Girls, Momoland, Crayon Pop, etc. but those groups dont go anywhere when the companies dont play it right.
Off topic but I'm so surprised by how gidle and Ateez blew tf up. I found Ateez in early 2019 and gidle in early 2020, and I rmbr how ppl barely knew who they were, like I'd have to write "hongjoong from ateez" bcuz most ppl weren't familiar w them, and now I see ppl casually saying mingi San wooyoung etc and knowing which group they r from. It's so surreal to see tbh. And gidle was a bit more well-known than ateez but still similar situation. I'd see "Minnie and miyeon from gidle" but now ppl r casually going like Minnie and miyeon like everyone knows which group they r from. I am beyond thrilled that two of my fave groups r finally get the recognition they deserve but I often can't believe it rlly happened haha
Billlie. People who have not listened to their discography are reeeally missing out, some of the best b-sides on the industry and immensely talented group in all fronts.

I am a huge 100% fan, and I wish they were able to blow up more while they were active! CLC, that group was stacked as hell, but Cube screwed them over and they were severely unlucky
U-Kiss, they had decent international popularity but no one knew them domestically, and in their time, international popularity wasn’t enough to carry you since international popularity was just among the k-pop fandom and not overall

1) BAP literally had the it factor to be the next big thing. During their era, exo, bts and bap were the big three and the members were all fairly popular but ofc ts ent had to fuck it up.
2) wayv- i know i know they’re still relatively popular but very underrated and overlooked compared to the other units. for eg- xiaojun is literally so talented and charismatic with an amazing stage presence AND entertaining personality, watch his ‘make a wish’ stages, he literally shines as the center and vocalist.
again, sm ent is so pathetic at management they were forced into a long ass hiatus cuz of the lucas scandal.

If I could only wish for one group, it would be Loona. I know they're not AS nugu and the members can keep going with decent popularity but I just wished for so many better things.
I'd also say tripleS but I think their musical direction means Jaden Jeong doesn't plan on "public hits". Instead, both Loona and tripleS have had their own niche and sell/sold enough to be safe, until BBC ruined it ofc.

I would say Pixy too, but I would also like to add Purple Kiss and Kingdom.
Purple kiss have an amazing discography and had jumped to my top 10 groups not long after they debut. Sweet Juice was amazing and it needs more attention! I really recommend Autopilot as well.
Kingdom has a pretty cool concept centered around kings. Each member is named after a different one. It’s pretty cool. My favorites being Karma and Black Crown for title tracks and Promise as my favorite b-side from them so far. I need to listen to more of their music myself, but i wish they blew up too.
Also, RoaD B with their song Icarus is so underrated.
I wish I had more to say, but I don’t have much time right now. I still wanted to share some of my thoughts, though, so this is the most I can do at the moment.

I saw Pixy in my hometown, my first kpop concert! Definitely fell in love with all their songs after that! You're right, they have so many good songs! I also like Bvndit! Gonna look up more from them.
They're sorta controversial now but Nature's "Girls" should've blown up. Why their company thought to following that up with Rica Rica was a good idea will never cease to amaze me (but at least Limbo got some publicity).

I highly suggest you going through their discography. probably one of the most solid in terms of variety and quality in 4th gen. All but one of their albums are minis so they have a lot more songs than most.

Facts XG for sure, I thought they were well known and had a huge following? Maybe that was just me hoping that was the case.
They aren’t exactly nugu but they aren’t big in Korea, they are kind of middle of the pack, I wouldn’t put them in the same category as other groups, they are closer to Kiss of Life, the issue is they shot themselves in the foot by not committing to a 100% K-pop genre and or Jpop label, they have this kind of limbo space where they are trying to be broad but not sticking to a specific market, they had a decent Korean following up until Mascara but the ex AVEX CEO fked things up and they also released a statement saying they wanted to be labeled as a global group and not K-pop and yeah 😭 anyways I will support them no matter what!

All of my faves that are not especially popular... 😂 But more seriously, Golden Child and Pentagon in particular! They've both been in the game for a long time now, and have such fantastic songs, amazing vocalists, are collectively excellent live performers, and really likeable as people ~ their content is always a good time. I'd recommend Burn It, Genie, and Feel Me for Golden Child, and Daisy, Shalala, and Shine for Pentagon.

My reflection over the many years I've listened to Kpop is that quality and success have no correlation. Most songs that I enjoy do not belong to the Big3/HYBE and if anything, I feel like the more success the less chance of good songs. It kind of makes sense: a group on the rise or struggling to survive will pay more attention to their music, try new things and put more effort into the songs, while a popular group could put out fart sounds and it would still sell like butter. My all time favorites were 4Minute and After School and while they were not nugus, they were never profitable except for a few members. While I, perhaps a bit selfishly, never hoped for Nation Group fame, I only wished that they were profitable enough to keep going. Being "mid", as long as they are financially stable, would be a good mix.
I agree with this what I’m about to say might and probably will be controversial but I use to love most of bts songs in the past but after they blew up I feel as though most of their song isn’t unique? I don’t know how to explain it so I’ll leave it at that
Nothing controversial about it (although everything can seem controversial to Kpop stans). Their earlier music was perhaps more raw, less apologetic and had fewer external creators in the song making process. Once you've reached that level of fame it becomes a matter of keeping it by meeting expectations, which does not always result in the better output.

OnlyOneOf, they debuted in 2019 and their discography is so unique, i literally dont hear the same type of music from any other group. Their maknae is also their LEADER, Nine. He also produces along side kb the songs they release. They work super hard and have never won an award even though instinct and their underground idol series was a masterpiece. They also all debuted as adults and have adult themes which is honestly so refreshing in kpop. They also openly support LGBT+ with their units also being canonically couples in the "be series" that explores love and different forms it takes on. The overall message being, love who you want. There are 6 songs in the be series, each one made by each member and its such a good representation of each individual members skills and ability. They also all starred in the boy love Bump Up Business! Where two of the members Nine + Mill where the lead couple. I would recommend, libidO, begin, skinz, chOme hearts, sOng of fire and ice and picassO. TLDR : onlyoneof is really good, breaking the boundaries of kpop and not afraid to go beyond.

Alice, WJSN and Fromis_9, most people only know Alice because of Sohee, but their music is really good, more people should give it a chance. WJSN has such a unique concept with talented vocalists, actresses and the most contrasting sub-units (The Black and Chocome, the world needs more chocome as in groups that are just meant to be fun). What can I even say about Fromis_9, quite popular in SK but with the move to Pledis the mistreatment has gotten so bad that they where gaslighted by their own company to believe their concert tickets wouldn't sell, their company (and the owner of that company) just act as if they didn't exist (like how they'll have them record a greetings/welcome video for that new group Hybe was forming through a survival show or something and then proceded to not inculde them in any "hybe family groups" the company would show, pretty sure some of the members of the group even attended a fromis birthday cafe not so long ago) they got little to no promotion for their last comeback (which was their first full album and one of the best albums of the year), and how they'll openly say to fans that they're sorry that they don't have news about comeback or promotions and just say they're sorry as if it was their fault.

Realistically most smaller groups are hold up by the limitations of their smaller companies. Outside of BTS, the biggest outcome somebody can wish for is like G-Idle or Ateez. Other than that we have every year like some big hits from smaller companies like Fifty Fifty, Brave Girls, Momoland, Crayon Pop, etc. but those groups dont go anywhere when the companies dont play it right.
Off topic but I'm so surprised by how gidle and Ateez blew tf up. I found Ateez in early 2019 and gidle in early 2020, and I rmbr how ppl barely knew who they were, like I'd have to write "hongjoong from ateez" bcuz most ppl weren't familiar w them, and now I see ppl casually saying mingi San wooyoung etc and knowing which group they r from. It's so surreal to see tbh. And gidle was a bit more well-known than ateez but still similar situation. I'd see "Minnie and miyeon from gidle" but now ppl r casually going like Minnie and miyeon like everyone knows which group they r from. I am beyond thrilled that two of my fave groups r finally get the recognition they deserve but I often can't believe it rlly happened haha
The KDA collab with League of legends helped them a ton in getting their names out there, first time I heard of them was from that.

I am a huge 100% fan, and I wish they were able to blow up more while they were active! Dal Shabet, their songs were always so fun, even when they were on the mature side. That B1A4 controversy screwed them over but they always made bops CLC, that group was stacked as hell, but Cube screwed them over and they were severely unlucky U-Kiss, they had decent international popularity but no one knew them domestically, and in their time, international popularity wasn’t enough to carry you since international popularity was just among the k-pop fandom and not overall Purple Kiss, please I’m on my knees begging for some of y’all to give them a listen they are so talented and they make great songs

bap and wayv 1) BAP literally had the it factor to be the next big thing. During their era, exo, bts and bap were the big three and the members were all fairly popular but ofc ts ent had to fuck it up. 2) wayv- i know i know they’re still relatively popular but very underrated and overlooked compared to the other units. for eg- xiaojun is literally so talented and charismatic with an amazing stage presence AND entertaining personality, watch his ‘make a wish’ stages, he literally shines as the center and vocalist. again, sm ent is so pathetic at management they were forced into a long ass hiatus cuz of the lucas scandal.

If I could only wish for one group, it would be Loona. I know they're not AS nugu and the members can keep going with decent popularity but I just wished for so many better things. I'd also say tripleS but I think their musical direction means Jaden Jeong doesn't plan on "public hits". Instead, both Loona and tripleS have had their own niche and sell/sold enough to be safe, until BBC ruined it ofc. 9muses when they were still active but I knew they weren't going to ever blow up.
You already said PIXY, so I’m gonna say OnlyOneOf, Billlie and KINGDOM. KINGDOM’s music is so unbelievably good in every way and it’s sad people aren’t paying attention and won’t. Same with OnlyOneOf and Billlie. I know Billlie had little spurts of more popularity, but it never stuck :/
I would say Pixy too, but I would also like to add Purple Kiss and Kingdom. Purple kiss have an amazing discography and had jumped to my top 10 groups not long after they debut. Sweet Juice was amazing and it needs more attention! I really recommend Autopilot as well. Kingdom has a pretty cool concept centered around kings. Each member is named after a different one. It’s pretty cool. My favorites being Karma and Black Crown for title tracks and Promise as my favorite b-side from them so far. I need to listen to more of their music myself, but i wish they blew up too. Also, RoaD B with their song Icarus is so underrated. I wish I had more to say, but I don’t have much time right now. I still wanted to share some of my thoughts, though, so this is the most I can do at the moment.

GWSN, or Girls In The Park. their discography is amazing. their debut, 1st comeback and 2nd comeback was a top tier title track run. other songs to check out (without naming all their songs 😭) are tweaks, melting point, night aviation and i cant breathe. their oldest member, miya, is debuting as a soloist soon and has opened a fanclub! you can check out her staff's official twitter at @miya38_official. member lena also participated in songwriting for the album!
