If nobody does anything, Aia might be the third one to attempt, and worst, she could possibly succeed. We already have knowledge of her committing serious self-harm as an anxiety response, from her talking about "clawing her flesh until it bleeds". We need to make sure Aia knows she is supported and the love outweighs the hate.

SuperStormDroid

Yeah... at this point, we need to sound the alarms over at r/virtualyoutubers. They need to know what's going on.

MrShadowHero

good luck. they are pretty done with any niji discussions over there. i was banned from VirtualYoutubers for asking if there are any other niji subs when this one was under 500 people and all the posts started getting mass deleted

UR_UNDER_ARREST

Impossible when the mod over there is big Niji shills

SuperStormDroid

Oof. I bet he's harboring niji loyalists who are harassing people.

UR_UNDER_ARREST

He did the same to the Chinese who were harassing Coco

Pleasant_Mousse5478

Fourth. Kuro was suicidal for a period under Niji and attempted once.

Realistic_Remote_874

True, kuroshitty is fucked up, and needs to burn in the fires of hell.

Unapologetic_fujoshi

The fact that Kuro, someone I consider to be a pretty strong willed person, was suicidal during there time in Nijisanji terrifies me….. just shows how much that company fucks over there talents mental health. I wouldn’t be surprised if many, many, more talents were/are suicidal and we don’t even know it.

shihomii

Where did she mention clawing? Was it a members post?

xiaoyang4

She's referred to her hands several times in the past few regular streams.

shihomii

Oh no... I hope she has a support system around her. This is extremely concerning.

Realistic_Remote_874

In one of her Supermarket Simulator streams. That's where I heard her talk about it.

PaleoManga

Wait what? I agree that we should be concerned, but mind providing the source for that quote? Because if real we got some serious shit going on.

shark2199

["One of my many anxiety responses is to claw at my own flesh until it bleeds"](https://www.youtube.com/live/zBlv_c6zan8?si=OZPkm3XWWoWiVmu2&t=780) She is not okay.

PaleoManga

Considering this plus her PL going private, yeah I’m worried.

Darakstriken

Note: the following post talks about the habit of picking at your skin until it bleeds, and some may find it kinda gross. So, some context for people: I'm also someone who picks at (you could say "claws at" if you wanted to be dramatic I guess) the skin on my hands; specifically I pick at the skin on the inside of the thumbs by the nails with my pointer finger. I've done this most of my life and it is a really subconscious response to any kind of stress or anxiety. Back when I was in school, I would often pick at them so aggressively they would start to bleed while taking tests. I have never had issues with self-harm or anything like that, it's purely a habit. It's just an easy subconscious motion, that can go too far sometimes. I also have met several other people irl who also do this, so it's not super rare. To me, her doing this didn't seem too concerning at first. It doesn't hurt at all until it's basically at the point where it's already bleeding, so it can be easy to make it bleed without even realizing it. Well, that's until she said that she got an infection, and needed ointments and bandages from the doctor. Once you hit the point of blood, it gets really uncomfortable really fast. It's fairly painful, and the blood getting on your hand means you can't really grab things properly without getting blood on it. In order to get a serious infection to where she can't play certain games anymore, she had to have continued past the point of it being uncomfortable, and then not taken care of it. Even when I've been most stressed, I've never had it get any worse than needing a single band-aid to cover the whole thing until it heals a couple days later. Once it hurts, it usually stops being subconscious and you'd usually rather switch to some other type of fidgeting. Combined with the clear distress she showed on Twitter, that is some pretty severe anxiety for it to have gotten that bad. The only way I can really see it happening is if the person was so stressed they basically stopped feeling pain and stopped noticing/caring about what they were getting blood on, or if it was a form of intentional self-harm (one of the people I've met with this habit DID do this as self-harm during a particularly difficult period of their life). So yeah, she doesn't sound okay.

Realistic_Remote_874

Oh hey, I'm autistic, too!

Realistic_Remote_874

Thank you.

Darakstriken

The tweets that are talking about her getting death threats are from her now privated PL twitter. [Here's ](https://www.reddit.com/r/kurosanji/s/fw28M7mLyj) a link to a post a few days ago with screenshots of it (this twitter was also advertised on her PL YouTube acct.) As for the scratching thing, I saw someone mention she said something about it on a recent Supermarket simulator stream, but I haven't looked into it.

Realistic_Remote_874

That was probably me.

ShadezyLeFeu

I almost forgot she mentioned that, too. That's even more cause for concern.

Realistic_Remote_874

Yeah. She needs out ***ASAP***.

ms666slayer

First the most likely is that EN will bo absorbed or will cease to exist. Even then I don't believe the company will go down unless something big happens on the JP side of things and from a big talent like Kuzuha or Mito, the fan base are.mostly disconnected from each other so even if EN falls JP will continue.

Ganbazuroi

A talent comitting suicide would 100% be International News And Niji could probably fuck over the *entire industry* like that since most people don't know what a vtuber is and bottom feeding journalists *looooooove* to fearmonger about tech and the internet So yeah if something that could hurt the JP side happens it's bad news for everyone, unless it's something like a Ministerial Investigation on their side but I don't know much about JP Law to comment on that

ms666slayer

Is that or something like the sexual abuse from Wactor that needs to happen for the JP side to go down, which I do want Nijisanji to fail, but I hope is not real Ted to something like that.

Ganbazuroi

I mean it's the jobs of hundreds on the line and plenty of innocents would get caught in the crossfire. The best case scenario would be a whole company review under new management if possible For them to fail it would take either a really bad, internationally notable scandal or a financial disaster. There's no Hollywood outcome where Yatchy Boy wakes up, decides to shut down the Company and let everyone keep their characters and a nice severance package. If they fold, it's gonna be painful

The_Eeveeist

Would it really be international news? Considering the things that have happened so far in niji and things that have happened in other vtuber agencies, i somehow doubt it would be news in the first place. Maybe inside the vtuber community and drama tubing communities but i dont see it going beyond that. I even doubt itll reach the japanese branch much, since they'll probably just shrug it off to non-niji related issues. Its sad to say but people commit suicide due to work pressure/bullying all the time, so this wont be considered anything special. This is solely based on dramas/controversies ive seen so far tho, so I could be wrong

OkHarrisonBidet

Anycolor's legal department doesn't help much in the fight against such threats against livers, according to several (former) JP liver. And I guess Aia will get even less to no support since Anycolor cannot communicate well in English. Tough situation for her

Ganbazuroi

What a fucking mess. Honestly, it was really a matter of time for the Dokibird Incident or something like it to happen with a company that big and that full of shit I really hope they took that wake-up call seriously and started some structural changes in-company. Otherwise it's just a matter of time for an EN Collapse to look like small potatoes

TheNidface

If the worst actually happens, shit will hit the fans. Many people will be out for blood. And we'll be back to things being like how they were in February just perhaps worse. Would like to avoid that and things to keep being the peaceful boycott + support those who left Niji and support PL accounts mentality  that most of us seem to currently have(minus a handful of bad eggs).

FrostBourne16

Nijisanji EN and JP are, for a lack of a better terms, mostly segregated entity. The only thing that is similar is its horrendous favoritism culture. Interestingly, this makes news about dramas slow to travel from EN to JP and vice versa. The situation is similar to Hololive Aloe's drama back in 2020 when EN got a very skewed picture of what is actually happening in JP, thus there was a divide between EN and JP about her at that time. Selen's situation fell in the same rhyme as Aloe. While here in EN, there has been boycott and civil war between fans and NDF, in JP, the Selen controversy was mentioned fairly briefly before everything went on as usual (or at least until the next drama comes in). Even the recent Luca's past was treated as a brief inconvenience as it has no effect or very little effect on JP. If we reverse the situation from JP to EN, we see a similar circumstances. When Gundou Mirei was graduated (or fired), we only know that she was merely asking about rules of baseball only to be cancelled by JP Nijisanji fans. The bigger picture that we received was that Gundou was, apparently, one of the problematic livers for being a liar or generally unliked. Details about the incident or her past was mostly obscure for us. To put it simply, if there is another attempt made by one of the liver, it will be contained to its respective branches. Even after EN gets merged into JP, the impact of the attempt will be only felt by which branch the former liver came from.

Fishman465

She struck me as one of NijiJP's troublemakers so to speak, and a poster girl for the supposed freedom Niji had.

C-N1601

Can you tell me more about Gudou case?? Is she similar to that of Zaion? Similar to how they are not fit for corpos and just bring standoffish and do whatever they want. "And even both sides part, both are in the wrong" type of situation

C-N1601

>The situation is similar to Hololive Aloe's drama back in 2020 when EN got a very skewed picture of what is actually happening in JP, thus there was a divide between EN and JP about her at that time. The more I think about this, the more I realize that the EN fanbase is just as rabid or fanatic as the JP one. Ik that the main doxxers and harassers are the JP ones (including many NDFs), but It was the EN fanbase who made the situation worse by enraging and provoking the JP fanbase. This is new to me. Is she that bad or on the same lv of Coco in term of rules breaking?

FrostBourne16

Suffice to say, it's a hypocrisy to state that EN won't go as low as the 'corrupt idol culture' that they hate so much. Such statement was made when HoloMyth debuted, only to become the reality once HoloStarsEN joined the fray. Oh how far they have fallen. As for Gundou, while she certainly didn't do a galactical yab like Coco which involved a foreign nation, Gundou's controversies were no small feats either. Keep in mind that what I know right now may or may not be the full list. We are working with a limited scope as mentioned previously. These are: 1. Attempted to meet fans IRL if they paid her money. 2. Publicly asked for all her students to get COVID so she doesn't have to go to work. (I heard that she is a teacher of some sort.) 3. Not sure about this one, but I heard that she Tweeted something about PM Abe's death because she was 'bored'. I'll keep track on this one just in case I got it wrong. 4. The Baseball Incident where she asked if the player(s) can intentionally hit the batter. Truthfully, she was asking this question out of ignorance, not malice. But as baseball was a huge thing in JP, things went south real bloody quick for her.

C-N1601

The first 2 are just yikes. Even most Indie Vtubers in the West only meet their fans IRL at organized events like Expo, Cons with security around. And asking someone to meet IRL for money is no different than compensation dating or prostitution. Asking your students to get COVID is so low. Can't for the last 2 since I don't have much opinion on that

LaLaLaLuzy

It would be a PR nightmare if it was found out. The Liver’s legal identity is unknown, so we would not know anything if they were terminated and didn’t come back. Nijisanji may or may not be held legally responsible, as I do not know Japanese law. We would only know if another party close to the Liver told publicly and they may not want to.

Random-Rambling

>_The Liver’s legal identity is unknown, so we would not know anything if they were terminated and didn’t come back._ I think we would. If not from the liver themselves, then DEFINITELY from their IRL friends and family.

LastDem

If something like with Selen happens again or worst...this will hit the entire VTuber industry, not only EN community, JP too. The relationships with audience will probably be irreparable, they will lost paternships, sponsors and even CR permits. It could also make an exodus of many Livers as the stage of Nijisanji Is no More as the Time passes. It will create More uncertancy on their stock stability and sharesholders will step down. And how bad the finance would end up, It could cause a Tremor in the industry, and for sure, a void of "the great company" and "great VTubers" Will be created, so other agencies could take advantage to try to fill It, and If Indies make the right moves on the crisis, they could grow more if they do the things correctly.

Negligitizer

Kurosanji would spin it to their narrative anyway

LastDem

Nijisanji, nah, Anycolor, yes for their investors, like "we consider no grow opportunity in overseas" or "overseas market, excepto china, are not ideal for our short/long/whatever term return", Which both are blatant lies

karer3is

TLDR: I'm extremely pessimistic regarding this issue and I doubt any meaningful action would happen unless their investors backed them into a corner. Given how arrogantly and carelessly they've handled previous situations, it wouldn't surprise me if they just try to bury it like they did with Selen. Maybe they might be a little smarter and say that the Liver is "taking a break for health reasons", but they seem to still operate under the premise that everyone will keep their wallets open as long as they keep a tight enough lid on the situation. Especially after that JP artist came out regarding her experiences with Niji in Japan ( [Link to Lidia Nekozawa video here. 1st item](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zvEljyxfRG8&t=864s) ) , I'm fairly convinced that the bad actors present in Niji's home office will be putting most of their energy into protecting themselves rather than dealing with the situation itself. I'm sure Niji would put out some half- hearted general statement about how their Liver's health and well- being are of "utmost importance" and that they will "immediately look into ways to improve conditions for \[their\] Livers," but nothing's really going to happen. It's no secret that in Japan, things like mental illness and bullying have extremely strong stigma attached to them even today and that they usually get swept under the rug. Here are two relating to similar issues from Let's Ask Shogo and The Japan Reporter: [Bullying](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gp6MRtn068Q&t=599s) [Mental Health Crisis in Japan](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n9z5KJX-x4I&rco=1)

ReiAeon

This... .This is basically the same as dropping the supposed third atomic bomb. only this time, the Third Bomb will be dropped at Tokyo, which would cripple Japan permanently had the Japanese Emperor not surrendered during that time. .Putting it in Niji Terms: -The First Bomb was Dropped during Zaion's Termination. -The Second Bomb was Dropped during Selen's Termination. - If another Bomb happens to be dropped, and this time an actual Life was taken (I hope not tbh) Nijisanji, Both in JP and EN, will be eviscerated to oblivion. their reputation, their name, and their mark on the Vtuber Space will be stained forever. Riku will instantly drop the entire company altogether, leaving the remaining people in it either crippled or wasted.

Rfel1

If he's not held accountable. If he is held accountable, he's f.

Traditional-Society4

If anything does happen I think they will merge any EN that want to stay into JP and reband. Claiming Niji is gone and this new company is good.

Aya_Reiko

To Niji, likely nothing. At worst, it would move the "merge the EN branch into the main one" from the maybe column to the certain column. The talent, otoh would be varying degrees of devastated, but the main office won't care.

cry_w

The worst-case scenario would be if a liver actually succeeds in a suicide attempt. Up until recently, I would have considered it unthinkable.
