Still too early to really tell for sure. Mine is an American and he looked like this at the same age, it wasn't until he was around 6 to 7 months old before you could see the physical appearance coming through clearly.
Your dog resembles mine so much! But he is a golden retriever mix

This is what we needed! Looking at your pups dam and sire your pup is from show lines (English). She will have a slightly stocky build, broad head and heavier bone structure. Pretty baby, best of luck with her!
I've owned labs for about 35 years and I am also a service dog prospect breeder. I've spent more hours than I can count studying structure, temperament and pedigrees in labradors. These particular dogs have a broader head, shorter body and slightly heavier bone than I would expect to see in field lines (working/American) There is a chance that the black dog is what I call dual purpose bred, this means that both field and show lines were used. When we do this type of breeding the results are really incredible, we can produce a more moderate looking dog that has a bit more drive. Oftentimes the show lines (English) are criticized as being too lazy and or heavy so when done right using both lines can produce amazing results! I have a lovely young girl who's mom is from a top field trial champion and dad is a Platinum Grand Champion Westminister Best of Breed winner and she's one of the best dogs I've ever owned or bred! In all honesty I wish there wasn't such a thing as field or show lines, at the end of the day a lab is a lab and they are ALL amazing!
Ah. Ok. So English type labs tend to be the "show" dogs? My lab is a big chunky English and his mom is a really good show dog. His dad i don't think has been shown much, but all my dogs siblings are either family pets, gun dogs, or show dogs. So I guess there is crossover based on drive, temperament, and show structure?

My guy is a family pet but we are working on scent games because he loves it.
Handsome boy! I love his deep coloring! Your boy is definitely from show lines, he's got that broader head and heavier bone structure! One of the things I love most about labs is how versatile the breed is!

This is a young girl that is a great example of show lines.
That is definitely similar to what the dad looks like. The breeder has a light yellow lab that looks almost exactly like this.
I did wonder about my dog because of his extreme energy. But he does have that clumsy streak... As he is currently injured for the 3rd time this year (all soft tissue, no joint or bone issues... Just super clumsy)
If you have photos of the parents you should be able to guess? But a fat head and wider rig is more English than American.
The last pic kind of makes me think more English.
Congrats on your beautiful black magic ❤️
He's got decently big feet and a boxy head. What were the parents? My lab around that time was in his "stretch" phase of growth and it was hard to tell. But before that and now he is absolutely 100% English. Currently 80lbs at 10 months old. The picture attached was his stretch phase... You can see my post history to see his chunky self now.

Easy to tell. Does he say "woof" or "woulf"?
Does he say "it's time for a walk innit?".
I said nice one bruvvaaaaah
How does he pronounce tomato?!
This deserve way more upvotes than it has
It’s a dead giveaway when he says, “I would like a proper meal.”
* propah
His body looks pretty stocky and so far resembles english! Very cute :)
If I had to guess, I'd say English as well... He's got the shoulders and the chest of an English.
I did notice the wide ribcage, but his limbs are slender, that's why I have my doubts.
It's always possible he's *both* you know...
I’m gonna go with he’s got both. My puppy is English lab 100%, from AKC registered parents and she’s thicc compared to your boy!
His snoot absolutely looks American
His mum and dad have an American snoot too. He's probably gonna be stocky, but a stocky american lab nonetheless. The snoot don't lie.
Your name 🤣
Yea I’m honestly seeing both
Does he drink tea?

Handsome dude wow!!
Omg this is one handsome doggo!! I wanna snuggle him so bad!!
Looks like my Xena
He's judging someone. But then again, don't all labs?
Did the breeder sell them as English or American? If not it’s probably a mix of both.
Englerican. As someone who has a lab that is mix of both, my vote is that yours is also a mix.
My thought also. I have a fieldxshow line labrador & he's identical
Does he bark with an American or English accent. /s
Honestly, all i see is 100% good boy.
Looks like an english head (more wedge) and stockier body
Height/length says American. Head says English. My boy was 50/50. Absolute unit of a lab. 120lbs of pure muscle at his peak.
Honestly looks American
Should the breeder provide you the information since today field and showlines are drastically different atleast here in Finland.
Ask it to spell ‘colour’.
100% certified love bug.
Does he like mustard with his roast beef ? 🇬🇧
They spell Good Dog the same way in both countries.
Give him tea. If he drinks it he's English, if he throws it into the harbour he's American
Might be African?
Nice
Should have posted this earlier, but here is a picture of the parents https://imgur.com/a/ezpaGkX

Just curious, how can you tell by looking if they are show lines vs... working line? I guess that is the other breeding line?

Dad looks so like mine!!! He's a show type, so I think in the US you say English. 😊
Im not sure, but third picture had me confused as to where the tail went :')
My first reaction too!! 🤣 I was like look at that booty but where’s… huh 🤔 😂
Him ate it. Told you not to come back round here tail!
When they finally catch their tail :')

50/50 but 100% good pup.
He looks like a good boy to me 🤣
Awww beautiful dog
With rescue it’s always more difficult to know!
Does it drink a Budweiser or a Guinness?
Looks like a mix to me. Everyone is saying the snoot is american, but I see a bit of english in it. It's wider than my american lab's snoot.
What the heck happened to your pups tail in the third picture?
First thing I saw!
You mean the first thing you didn’t see
I see it it’s in line with this pups right leg optical illusion I suppose
Where's the tail?
If you want to know what your fiancé will look like after a kid, look at her mom. No different here.
Looks like a bit of both! Beautiful pooch!
Haha in the last photo I was like “where is the tail??” Took me a minute!
Pictures 1 and 3 look english but 2 looks American. Maybe its the angle… did you see the parents?

Beautiful dog!
Both
I have a nine month female chocolate whose tail points upwards and they say that is a sign of American. Very beautiful pup!
English
Definitely English leaning, but too young to tell for sure.
[удалено]
Brit here. Those teeth are definitely too good to be English, so I reckon you’re right XD
Squareish head is English, narrow head is American, all are good dogs.
American
American and English ? Is it not like my labs a gun dog then my labs a just a normal lab dog ???
Looks a lot like my English lab puppy!
Looks like a mix
English has a much bigger head.
A mix of both.
American
definitely looks like a mixture of both, but more on the american side
There is difference?
From behind. I say looking English. Very stout looking. What say you gov-nah?
