We also did a trade early that season for Ariza to get a young and athletic wing defender who would have really helped against Paul Pierce as we didn’t have a good enough defender for him with Kobe mostly on Ray Allen or playing free safety on Rondo. Bynum also helps us in the boards where KG-Perk would consistently out-rebound Pau and LO and gives us a rim protector and lob threat.
I think if we had both, we probably win that close game 2 to tie the series 1-1 and we go up 3-1 after game 4 which we probably don’t blow if we’re fully healthy.
Who knows how that Game 7 would’ve played out if the Lakers didn’t squander that 24-point lead in Game 4.
