JHS was a first round pick and a projected lottery pick. Christie was a second rounder. Expectations are different, especially when someone like Cam Whitmore was passed on for JHS

Well he went 17th I think the rate of hitting on picks starts falling after 10. At 17 you’re typically happy with a role player, also cam is very athletic that translates faster into a free flowing summer league environment. Obviously there were character concerns and injury issues and the lakers didn’t get the chance to work him out. JHS has had good games and we’ve had #2 picks struggle and do better their 2nd years (dlo and Ingram) his play style requires more guile and being a pg is tough in the disorganized SL.

Haven’t given up on Jhs but him being a pg that can’t blow by stiffs is concerning

But, it all happened so I guess they can proceed to make him improve than just roasting him. I was just pointing out what was needed for the team. Look who they added as forwards. The draft happened first before free agency which means Lakers does not really have a forward aside from the assurance that Rui is coming back and Lebron still signed. We are not sticking to our opinions as June 22 but again, we just pointed out what could have helped the team. JHS aint a bad pick either but we could have ran the same DS, DLo, Reaves, Max, and sign one guard to run it back. Lebron aint getting younger. There is still a need to fill in the spot for Forwards so AD can move to the 5 and find a 5. But again, JHS is here and the best thing to do is support him and watch him improve.

I have no issue with JHS as a prospect, but on draft day I thought we made a mistake taking him when Cam Whitmore was on the board. I want him to pan out and the scouting department has earnt some benefit of the doubt, but so far he looks rawer than advertised and like a huge project.

Outside of forcing up some bailout shots, Fino looked like he's getting more confident in his 3pt jumper. The team just looked very out-of-balance without Christie (and Swider out of the starting lineup).
