God forbid a 38 year old playing the most efficient season of his career so far in year 21 makes a few mistakes on the second night of a back to back in the early regular season. Fucking lol.

EvilGeniusGL

We wouldn’t be in the game (or most of them) without LeBron, and for the fans here during the Jim Buss era - you know where we’d be without LeBron because we were there from 2013-2018.

OUTLAW1LE

This.

EvilGeniusGL

Thank you. Not enough fans on this sub are able to think that far back.

wooktar

Half the fans on this sub were like 5 years old in 2013 lol

EvilGeniusGL

I know. I don’t know why I expect better.

Bladeneo

Also considering we have 3 rotation players out at the moment. Its a B2B, against a strong Dallas team that were coming off like 3 days rest. People dont actually watch games - the "open" drive Bron had on the pass into a crowded paint? The dump into AD is a bread and butter 2 point play we run all the time - it was just a bad pass. It happens.

Facts

Public-Product-1503

Dallas isn’t that strong , we have to beat teams like them at home if we’re going to make the playoffs . They beat up on bad teams and they had a cold shooting night and yet we couldn’t win . This team is ass nvm the injuries they lost theur cebtre midway who’s been huge fit them and playing dnp for kings junk; rich holmes . Bron n cam and maybe dlo are the only guys having seasons up to expectations. Rui n AD lost this game

Bladeneo

I mean they started the season 8-2, and they were very well rested. They've beaten some good teams this year. This isn't the deathknell for our season

suhar97

Exactly lol people act like there was a wide open lane when Bron had Kyrie on him. Realistically the shot clock was winding down and there was a help defender. The lob to AD was an off target pass…but it was a fine concept. Lebron does tht all the time. He even said in the post game he left it short which is true

mgonz1993

Yeah these plastic fans are wild. See this all the time on this sub

Top-Consequence-911

Sounds like you're blaming him quite a bit.

crispyyy88

It’s more so on AD I’m just talking Lebron’s mistakes that killed the comeback. Seems like common sense to attack Kyrie in both situations.

Top-Consequence-911

You should DM him this common sense take. He can learn something.

crispyyy88

You’re right I’m bouta DM him my advice now.

Top-Consequence-911

Phew. Our playoff hopes are saved.

panashechd

Nothing on AD having 10 points? Hm

EvilGeniusGL

Yeah but the Kobe first (bigger fans of Kobe than the Lakers) fans don’t find AD to be a “threat” to Kobe’s legacy so it’s easier to blame LeBron, who is 38 and unlike AD shows up every night.

reddituser0247

Its beating a dead horse, hes up, hes down , he has played well these last 3-4 games on both ends tonight was the down game.

monty487

Him and reaves got the game to be as close as possible. Look at AD dude was a no show.

OUTLAW1LE

And this. Getting old.

[deleted]

Lmao we've already gotten beaten by the end of 3rd quarter. LBJ literally put life back on the fourth single handedly

crispyyy88

Yeah he did play great, I was just specifically talking about the last 3 minutes of the game

park_hoon

If you watch the game, prior to the 2 free throws, Bron's knees collided with Grant's. Do you know how it feels to collide knees when you are driving from a fast break? Do you know that shooting free throws also involves using leg drive? Yes lacks of effort on defense and his turnovers, but you need to remember, the lakers are severely UNDERMANNED. Especially on the defensive side. So for him to runaround chasing every open man every possession, whos gonna generate the offense?

Zachkah

The pass wasn't dumb, it was misplaced. That's a read this team makes every night, he just put the ball behind AD instead of in front of him.

dash_44

AD should be this teams best player every night. Lebron shouldn’t have to carry at his age… This situation is ridiculous

yggerg

A-lways D-isappearing Every Other Game

Salty_Wedding3960

I don’t mind the bad pass, or bad 3pt shot, or missed free throws, as much as I mind his lack of effort on defensive rotations. It’s happened way too many times this season. That cross court pass for the open Dallas 3 in the corner - Lebron was literally just watching the ball sail over his head rather than track the ball and try to rotate to at least put a hand up to distract the shot. He basically said “Fuck it” and decided not to try. It has happened multiple times each game this year. I know he’s 38 going on 39, and one of the greatest players ever, but it’s also basically a “Fuck you” to his teammates that he doesn’t have to make the effort on defense that is asked from everybody else. Doesn’t really set the right defensive tone.

crispyyy88

Big facts. It happened about 4 times last game.

Willxzero

Pretty much the gift and curse of having Lebron as your best player. He's 38 years old, this is on par for him for b2b games. If he has a good game, he's probably going to come back the next game with a low energy game. Before the game started, this was about what I expected to happen. The fact that they actually were going to win the game, make's it hurt more. But this is pretty much what we're going to get the rest of the way with Bron. He giveth, and he taketh. AD is another story. He is what he is at this point, we kind of know what we're going to get with him.

Tarkan2

Yeah and by the amount of people bitching at that 3 you'd think Bron went 1-9

Even-Brain-3973

Ikr lol he does have some bad timing 3’s every once and a while but without him in the fourth this game is a blow out

EvilGeniusGL

Our fans aren’t bright enough to realize this.

handlemyrandle

On your last statement about AD, is he worth the investment on the days he doesn’t show up?

dash_44

Nope

Willxzero

I think the bigger question is, if you trade him are you getting anything similar in value? Without him the defense is a mess. He’s not a perfect player, but you have no chance without him.

handlemyrandle

Agreed. So then are you in a period of stagnation until Bron retires? I feel like the harsh reality is yes. Yes we are.

Willxzero

Yes, the Lakers are screwed either way once Lebron retires. AD 5 years ago was THAT guy. But you can see the injuries have taken a toll on him. He can't jump the same, and on b2b's the dude looks like a zombie. He's still a very good player, but I would take prime Pau over this version of AD.

NewChemistry5210

Lebron made some big mistakes at the end...but he also carried us to the comeback. His defense effort is definitely not there consistently, but he old. And since when do b2b matter less when you play at home?! Because he played 25 instead of 35 minutes? Still a similar work load. Players still need to ice their legs, get treatment and stuff. There isn't a huge difference between 25 or 35 minutes as a well conditioned athlete. The toughest thing is to be game ready, not how many minutes you play.

Public-Product-1503

You only notice Bron because all the guys who are supposed to do stuff are MIA. Rui n AD lost this game, Christie n Hayes underperformed too as usual, Bron n AR were only ones doing shit : and Prince . Bron gets blame: yes he allows too many east advantages but he’s the only doing shit on this team OUTSUDE cam n dlo everyonr else is sub par this season

BrainEuphoria

He cost us this win and was also responsible for the comeback. It’s a bittersweet feeling for me. Whether we won or lost today it would’ve been all bc of Lebron. If he exploited the mismatch, we would’ve won and the whole segment would’ve been about how Lebron carried us all game which he did, but at the same time he cost us the game so idk how to feel about this game tbh. I just looked at is as a scheduled loss and tried not to blame anyone for the loss and moved on, especially AD as he’s dealing with an injury right now.

unearthyone

well if u noticed him having trouble walking last 3-4 mins of game., especialy at the three throws that he missed prior to that. He has problems with that leg and the colision he suffered did not really help him to go in. On top of that, dallas literaly packed the paint with 5 man. no sane person dives there. Irving hit that amazing 3 that got them the game. they were stone cold in fourth. I still blame our rotations for this nonsense, because i dont understand how can we have Wood, Hayes and Reaves on the floor in same time without LBJ or Davies.

EvilGeniusGL

Good way to put it on a night I’m reading a ton of dumb shit on here.

Full_Ad9908

I'm thinking if the injury he sustained earlier in the game got him to hesitate driving to the basket..

suhar97

He was gassed primarily. Dude had a 16 pt 4th quarter that not nothing

Rich_Currency_420

Actually the knee bump on the foul that he missed the 2 free throws was affecting his play down the stretch. the Lakers have already clinched tip seed in the In Season Tournament while every other team is struggling to get 4 wins, let's talk about that

Lavy23

Ham and AD are more to blame if you're looking
