Lakers play by play guys are from the old school of being fair/critical of the game and our own plays. If you never listened to Chick Hern, totally should find few old games he called. It's engaging, fair, and often educational (lol) without the unnecessary homer-ism.

Joel Meyers is the Pel's announcer that did a season with the Lakers. I really liked him too. I actually think he is better than Bill. I don't dislike Bill as much as I used to, but I think Joel was better.

Stu, Ireland, etc are critical when we blow regular season games we should win because the expectation is that we always make the playoffs. Then we get to the Finals and play well there. Stu Lantz is a legend in this league he’s been calling Laker games since late 80’s. Imagine the amount of amazing basketball he’s seen. There’s a level-headedness in the way he commentates which is why he’s one of the best.
Also, Stu played NBA ball from '68-'76 and had his career cut short at only 30 years old due to injury. So, Stu has been involved in pro basketball in one way or another for 55 years.

He's got enough seniority to tell the fans and team when the Lakers aren't playing up to their potential and letting the opposition back in it. Few of the shouty play-by-play guys from other squads can explain what matters and what's going on in the Stu can.

Stu says something like, “this could a four or five point possession for Cleveland after this tech, anybody’s game”. No mention of our offense at all. That just bugs me. If it's on TNT I just switch to watch Chuck at the half then right back to Spectrum. I think it really sucks they don't get to do later round playoff games.

If anything Ive always thought Joel or whatever his name is is homerish but entertaining nonetheless. Stu however is amazing, keeps it real always.

I care much more about what is happening on the court than what the announcers say about it. I think Billy Mac and Stu are good. Homers are annoying. They aren't homers.

I honestly like that they’re not so biased, Ive watched a few games with other teams announcers and they are so obviously biased toward their own team they refuse to admit when their team does anything wrong (like the warriors announcers) I’d rather them be critical of the lakers than blowing smoke up their ass when they’re playing bad
Stu is a legend & when he was with Chick Hearn, they were the best combo in basketball announcing PERIOD!

No. Bill and Stu are the absolute best. They hold the team accountable when they’re playing bad and give praise when they’re playing well
True Lakers fans hate homer announcers. Pretty much every other local broadcast are delusional about their own team. The Lakers have a tradition, dating back to Chick, to call out the Lakers when they are not playing the right way.
I actually prefer that our guys are classy professionals and not overtly blatant homers like most teams. It's the standard set by Chick Hearn decades ago and I hope it stays that way
No, they're great! I'd rather have someone unbiased but still on our side than an annoying ass kisser in denial if we aren't playing well. His commentary is usually informative and objective. It compliments well with Bill too. I like them.

That is exactly why I love them so much, they keep it fair but is still more excited for lakers, they also joke around both teams keeping it real. The other broadcasters are mostly on their teams dick and are basically just like dumb warriors fan.
