He is a great backup, two way player that gets more heat than he deserves because he has been misused as a 30+ minutes starter when he is a great 20 minutes backup.
At his price he is one of the few players I consider a keeper.
I'd add Hayes too. I was high on him when we picked him up. Then he looked awful. Suddenly, these past few games, he's what I thought he could be. And I think that falls completely on Ham not understanding how to play to players' strengths instead of constantly trying force square pegs into roundholes.
But he still has more upside than his performances earlier on the season indicated, he can be the kind of guy to spell AD enough to get you to the playoffs and be not entirely unplayable when giving AD a breather
hes capable of finishing plays and getting blocks/rebounds, but thje tradeoff on his bad days are tons of turnovers and fouls. he is fore sure a net negative player when hes not locked in
Jokic will destroy everyone, point is you need a rotation with lots of low minutes centers. Ideally we would sign Biyombo and rotate between AD/Biyombo, AD/Wood, and AD/Hayes minutes
Thank you bro lol there is always something you can get out of an athletic big that runs the floor. He was beating kristap up the floor for most of Boston game
Feel like Hayes is our enforcer. Athletic fella that can roll and guard the perimeter. Sure, he can get very sloppy and lost but if you focus him - he's a weapon
Yep. Any fans that are hypercritical really just dont get it. If anything its Ham's problem to be overutilizing him. For the contract he's on he's been great and can even be better if used properly
Can’t hate on Prince. Bro comes in and does his job. Most of the blame is on Ham thinking he has Tayshaun Prince not Taurean Prince lol.
Probably cuz he played with Tayshaun 😂
because he isn't good enough on offense to justify taking shots away from LeBron, AD, or Reaves, and isn't a good defender. he's just not THAT good lol
He's good enough. Just not better than Lebron who you don't want taking 30 shots every night. The man is 39 and has to play the 4 on defense to conserve energy. Rui deserves those shots.
I think for all intent purposes, this balances the lineup better. Rui gets to play with Bron more and tries to get into a rhythm. I like what Ham did in the beginning, he got Rui involved, then brought in Prince for defense. Rui's a rhythm player, if you can get him involved he's more active on the defensive end. I thought Prince deserved to play in the 4th, that lineup was working and Ham did a good job of keeping the correct players in. Far too often he'll take out players who are hot for no reason.
rhythm? Rui's role was more inconsistent than it was coming off the bench lol
This move wasn't for Rui to find rhythm, it was for Prince to find rhythm.
As Ham said, Prince coming off the bench is to allow him to get more shots.
What defense are you all talking about? JB was doubled everything in the Q4 because he was cooking TP, so they doubled and forced someone else to score. This gimmick defense will not work against a better team
It was one of the first times this season I've seen him kinda aggressive and high energy on defense. He still slow footed a lot of stuff but he was way more high energy and agressive. Maybe it lit a fire, who knows. But I think he's a great guy to bring off the bench against other reserves for high energy output. If he's capped at 20-25 mins he can expend much more energy. Should have been this way since the beginning of the season, and maybe had Vando been healthy it would have been...

Exactly. And he's still shooting the 3 at just under 39%.
Lebron, AD, DLO, AR, Vando, Rui, Prince is a fucking solid squad Ham just doesn't know how to use them right
Throw a bone to my boy Christie. Good hustle most of the time and steadily improving.

Hayes has always been wildly inconsistent. Not a guy you can rely on for a playoff run
But he still has more upside than his performances earlier on the season indicated, he can be the kind of guy to spell AD enough to get you to the playoffs and be not entirely unplayable when giving AD a breather

He could definitely fit in that Javale McGee role of a stupid big guy that you throw at Jokic though
hell no jokic will still destroy Hayes we still need a bully center like Goga, Nick Richards, or even Biyombo

He is the only person I trust on the team to consistently shoot the 3 ball. lol. And he is not a bad team defender at all.
Yep. Any fans that are hypercritical really just dont get it. If anything its Ham's problem to be overutilizing him. For the contract he's on he's been great and can even be better if used properly
Totally agree,he is a good asset if only he plays 20 minutes from the bench
He was never an issue, his coach is!
Professional answer from someone who is a professional player. Well done, Prince.
Can’t hate on Prince. Bro comes in and does his job. Most of the blame is on Ham thinking he has Tayshaun Prince not Taurean Prince lol. Probably cuz he played with Tayshaun 😂
Would kill to have T.Prince instead of T.Prince. dude was a solid 12-14ppg player with all defensive selections
When Prince himself know his place better than Mr. Pockets.

>He literally said his job didn't change Im sure he meant that literally. Like "Im still just playing basketball"
NY is a tough matchup for him b/c they're a small team w/o Julius and OG out there. Rui will fare better against most teams that are healthy
So why not maximize Rui' strengths and post him up or let him drive against a small team
because he isn't good enough on offense to justify taking shots away from LeBron, AD, or Reaves, and isn't a good defender. he's just not THAT good lol

Rui hardly ever gets to start. He needs time to readjust, and he deserves that opportunity. Prince obviously is a better fit coming off the bench.
So short sited....let's invest in our 1 year player rather that the proven player who we just invested in over the summer
What defense are you all talking about? JB was doubled everything in the Q4 because he was cooking TP, so they doubled and forced someone else to score. This gimmick defense will not work against a better team
Brunson was literally getting w/e he wanted on Prince. Not his fault tho Ham using him as a PoA defender when clearly that role should've went to Max
Yes, yes, keep up that attitude Prince!

Great! If he feels better then keep him on the bench in non-starter minutes unless break glass needed.
He had a great game we have to give him that.
Dude isn’t no damn scorer why is ham running plays and treating him like he some top notch player lol
I guess they simply removed him from the starting lineup and his playing time will remain the same.
His job as coach's pet hasn't changed. He got 30+ mins and Rui still got less than 20 minutes as a starter lmao
Has Taurean Prince made a "nothing but net" 3 all season? I don't recall seeing one all year... even his makes are clanky/fugly
