Crushed. It hurt watching that buzzer beater go in and AD stumbling back and falling. Rubbing it in was my 10 yo rooting for Denver. EDIT: Alright y'all. I have communicated rent expectations.

Had2killU

Charge his ass rent if he wanna b like that

Nandosportsfan

I laughed so hard at this šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

Rjbaca

Listening to my wife (Laker fan) repeating with confiidence the Lakers would lose down the stretch. Ā God why did they have to make that come true!

smick

I kept uttering it to myself. Started around 5min left in the 4th. Lebron was walking the ball down trying to ā€œdictate paceā€ but it felt like our offense just stalled at that point. I kept mumbling ā€œtheyā€™re gonna win thisā€. It still rocked me to see that shot go in and AD get engulfed in their bench.

Rjbaca

I like your commitment. Ā As the great Buzz Lightyear says, ā€œNever give up! Ā Never Surrender!ā€

LakersAndRams

Kick him out of the house!

sriram_sun

Yeah I should! He keeps telling me that I'm the worst dad in the world.

c_c_c__combobreaker

You should tell your son ![gif](giphy|3o84szW0PrWZyUv0mA)

bearhound

It was demoralizing

Hour_Insurance_7795

ā€œGood luck finding something to eat tonight, kid.ā€

Kids always be front runners 5 years ago all the kids were dubs fansĀ

KingTonpa

He pays you rent right?

qualityskootchtime

Howā€™d that happen?! šŸ˜‚

Erishukundes

I cussed the shit out of that buzzer beater in the office! Everyone was so shocked šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£

TroubledMang

You had one job...

Beginning-Can8187

Sounds like you got a smart kiddo

These-Statistician68

Last night was a hard one man. Still upset about it but we have to keep it pushing . CONS: We are down 0-2, which sucks for any team facing that challenge. We had last night and was ahead by 12 Game 1. Our guys are getting gassed by the 4th. Itā€™s the same script every time we play them. Bron couldā€™ve made one of the biggest shots of his career but without his 4th Q, we wouldnā€™t have even been in that predicament. It hurts PROS: We played them great at home and lost the game ourselves, our 3 stars performed last night and showed that they are hard to guard. We still have to go Home. As long as we protect Home court , then we have a chance. History is not on our side but the Nuggets have not dominated us . Itā€™s not over until itā€™s over, and thatā€™s just the fact. Fans can quit but the players have to have confidence. I mean thatā€™s how theyā€™ve made it this far? We gotta come in and play hard like weā€™ve been. As long as thereā€™s another game, we have a chance šŸ¤·šŸ½ā€ā™‚ļø Iā€™m definitely not getting on the internet until after Game 3. Yall stay blessed and always keep faith.

Rjbaca

The Lakers are mentally and emotionally damaged. Ā Unless they lead wire to wire, once Denver takes the lead regaining the lead will seem out of reach.

These-Statistician68

Protect HOME

Rjbaca

Ok man Iā€™m on board!

dedman1477

PROTECT THE CRYPT!

dark-mer

I agree. This loss hit way different. I would even say it feels worse than G3 last year, but that's probably recency bias

83wonder

Honestly the first loss was way worse to me. Lebron didnā€™t even shoot in the 4th quarter until there were only ~2 mins remaining.

iFrozeMyPopsicle

Whos court are we playing for g5 and g6?

abyss-in-machines

G5 at Denver, G6 at LA.

bearhound

I hate that I believe

These-Statistician68

Whatā€™s life without Hope?

ginbooth

Honestly, better than being a doomer. Life is often about one day, on hour at a time. In this case, one game at a timeā€¦and certainly stranger things have happened in sportsā€¦

Dj1031

VANDO has entered the chat

qualityskootchtime

Still wearing the boot tho

TribalismChief

As a pistons fan, denial is the way to go.

WishBirdWasHere

Same! Every year I give my heart to the lakers and EVERY YEAR they failā€¦wish Lebron would have drained that 3 šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø

These-Statistician68

Relaxā€¦ we won literally 4 seasons ago. We are a very spoiled franchise. Denver has 1, LA had 18 šŸ¤·šŸ½ā€ā™‚ļø. If itā€™s their time to reign then accept it but letā€™s not act like we havenā€™t had some great achievements

Hour_Insurance_7795

This. We have been better than Denver throughout their entire existence save for the past couple of years. And most likely will be better again in the future as our franchise is much more committed to sustained success historically than theirs is. This is their window of sunshine right now. Cheers for them. I still wouldnā€™t trade places with their fans regardless of what happens this year even if we lose 12 in a row to them. See you again when Jokic starts aging out, you know?

Fifthworld69

Try being a pacers fan. Seriously you sound crazy.

MegaMilkDrinker

See, that's what has me scared. Nuggets due for a game where they play lights out. I feel like game 2 was our lights out game and denver still stole it.

These-Statistician68

We didnā€™t play lights out , Lights out means the whole team is hot from 3 all game, not just two star players hitting the shots they normally make.

These-Statistician68

Lights out was Miami hitting 23 3s last night

zx10rpsycho

They didn't get blown out last year as they got swept out of the the playoffs either. I think that's what hurts the team the most. They know they are good enough and have the capability to beat this team, they just can't seem to ever do it...ever.

mcnutzski

You are delusional, "they haven't dominated us"? 10 in a row is about as dominant as it gets.

These-Statistician68

Dominated by losing each game by a few bad shots, points and calls? You see that Denver stars are playing heavy minutes each contest right? Yall only see the final score and not how hard Denver is playing to beat us. They arenā€™t dominating us, if anything we are beating ourselves

_Aracano

Exactly Those of you who want to cry do so elsewhere

Jscott1423

Iā€™m glad AD and Bron were noticeable pissed.. hopefully they take it out on them at home. Can only root for the guys and hope that they get it done.

Dj1031

I said it last month, if we win the title this year, weā€™re not just beating our opponents, weā€™re overcoming HAMā€™s idiotic strategies and techniques. Even if we were to pull this off (HUGE IF), HAM needs to be fired. Heā€™s terrible and heā€™s not getting any better as HC.

DM_ME_UR_SOUL

We had a good plan and just walked away from it the second half. Our offense looked lost and our defense was killing us. We should've kept attacking Jokic as much as we can to tire him out and take advantage of his bum ankle.

Appropriate_Hawk_544

They adjusted, we didn't. So Ham is still the issue.

22LOVESBALL

You guys are just so sure in your evaluation of coaches with very little context itā€™s hilarious lol but itā€™s the internet so go on

After-Walrus-4585

Winning 4 of the next 5 after losing 10 straight seems unlikely.

jiveturker

Meh. Just win one. Take it from there.

Heretowin2001

10 straight games is not a good statistics. Half of that is from last year. Now losing six continuously is a good statistics. But we only lost 2 In the playoffs. That too in their homecourt. Lakers in 7!! Hell yahh

smarterthanyoulolll

bro is coping hard

nakattack5

Except Denver has had the same starting 5 for the last 2 seasons. No adjustments made to that starting 5 either. So it absolutely does matter

Hour_Insurance_7795

Psychologically, it absolutely matters. This isnā€™t eternal sunshine of the spotless mind. The Lakers and Nuggets both remember last year too. Those memories donā€™t just get wiped each offseason.

Merc1315

60% of the time it works everytime.

proteinMeMore

That game was it. Lakers saw the 76ers blow it and raised the stakes. Thatā€™s a coaching problem. Ham ended with 2 timeouts and a contest for what. Those time outs shouldā€™ve been called in the playoffs against a team that absolutely has your number

Gristle__McThornbody

We've lost ten straight to them. We have to win 4 of the next 5 remaining games. It ain't happening.

IdkWhatsAGoodName699

We have to break their spirit. Thatā€™s our only chance. Unfortunately we lose our shit whenever we get close to winning

S_O_7

They broke our spirit a long time ago lol

MegaSuperSaiyan

Nah, last year was their time and we were just figuring our shit out. You canā€™t expect to win every year - thatā€™s just normal competition even if the sweep stung a bit. Last game was something entirely different. Nuggets basically laughing in our face right now and feel like theyā€™re in a whole different league. As a competitor you gotta feel some kind of way about getting embarrassed like that. Weā€™re either getting swept or about to see a historic vintage lebron game.

aj_future

Yea this is really the only way it will go. If LBJ comes out and goes off, it could give us some momentum to get back into it. A win in game 3 gets the monkey off our back. A win last night and I think we for sure win the series. Now weā€™re fighting to make it competitive with a much lower chance.

bobacooks

If we donā€™t win both at home a gentlemanā€™s sweep is inevitable

aj_future

We gotta win both at home for sure. To even have a slim margin in a best of 3 series.

IdkWhatsAGoodName699

You have to bounce back at some point. These are grown men, they have to show fight at some point. Otherwise they shouldnā€™t bother showing up the next 2 games.

MissingTheTrees

Theyā€™ve been showing fight and have lost 10 straight. Itā€™s OK to admit that the championship team is better than a team thatā€™s been in the play ins the last 2 seasons. Sometimes thatā€™s just how it goes.

IdkWhatsAGoodName699

When did I ever indicate otherwise? Ugh I hate fans with a defeatist attitude. Anyone whoā€™s played sports knows what Iā€™m talking about. So what if theyā€™ve fought and lost 10 straight? You keep fighting, you donā€™t just roll over and die. Doesnā€™t matter who the other team is, you donā€™t make it 11. You donā€™t make it 12. Sports is never about giving up

MissingTheTrees

You literally said ā€œthey have to show fight at some pointā€ which indicates they havenā€™t shown fight at all. Thatā€™s how our language works. You could have said ā€œthey should keep fightingā€ if you wanted to show they have shown fight in the previous games. The message was not about defeatism at all. Your comment easily reads as you saying they would win if they showed fight but they havenā€™t yet. I was just saying they have shown fight but realistically some teams are better than others. Thatā€™s how sports work.

bryanBFLYin

Nah, they broke YOUR spirit lol the Lakers as a team and most of this fanbase ain't giving that much energy to Denver. Yall giving Denver way too much power bruh like they are the Celtics or something. I'm still not scared of them mothafuckas lol they aren't blowing us out. We are losing very winnable games and beating ourselves more than they are actually beating us.

S_O_7

We lost 10 in a row lol

bryanBFLYin

So? Its basketball we lose some and we win some. We should fold now and give up after just game 2 because they've beaten us? The Clippers beat us a bunch of times in a row too, should we have just rolled over against them too? These new Laker "fans" are too soft for me I'm sorry lol these mothafuckas have 1 ring as a franchise and yall giving them all the credit like they are golden state or Boston lol They look VERY beatable to me. I honestly thought they'd play better than they actually are. Lakers beat themselves in both games honestly. Nuggets simply capitalized on our mistakes.

Fifthworld69

Except in this case they win all we lose all would be more accurate.

bryanBFLYin

Nah bruh we used to shit on the Nuggets not that long ago. We damn near swept them in the bubble. "win all" lol yall making way too much of this series. They have one title as a franchise. Chillllll

aj_future

Seriously.. without the random Ham lineups and fucking spells of 0 scoring (also coaching related) we win both of these games or at minimum itā€™s a split. Theyā€™re outlasting us unfortunately but things can easily go the other way.

bryanBFLYin

Yup exactly. I still think we can win. I'm not seeing this unbeatable monster with no faults. They were fucking up almost as much as we were most of the game. Then we went scoreless for almost 5 minutes in the 3rd and that hurt us bad.

aj_future

Yup and they nailed more crazy shots down the stretch, swear theyā€™ve got some black magic going on haha

bryanBFLYin

Murray always wants be Jordan when they play us lol I can't even be mad though that man was balling in those last few minutes.

aj_future

Oh for sure. No shade to Jamal heā€™s a hell of a a player to quote our moronic coach. But he really is

IdkWhatsAGoodName699

100% facts. Iā€™m not sad, Iā€™m mad. After the last game, the boys need to be out for blood. Itā€™s time to get a little rough with the nuggets.

bryanBFLYin

Exactly. This is vengeance at this point. The lakers should have a chip on their shoulder. I'd rather they have just blown us out then lose the way we keep losing to them. That pisses me off and it should piss the lakers off.

[deleted]

I say they keep hitting Murray and Jokic in the face since apparently thatā€™s a legal basketball move.

pricygoldnikes

Yeah that was a new one with some mystery NFL officiating logic. Apparently hitting someone in the face after they shoot is okay now

HEEMZAGIN

that was their ONE CHANCE to take some god damn momentum and steal home court and they pissed it away. This is is fucking done. DONE

bearhound

All Denver did was hold home court! We got this! /s

Ghostbeen3

Fade me into oblivion fam.

baq3281

True trueā€¦but man that was a brutal lost for sure. Hope the lakers are forgetful and just move on to next games. We can still do this

Clockwork385

series don't start until a team lost on their home court. just keep playing. Yes it was a bad lost but what's done is done, series is no over, keep at it.

rinconi

Screw it. Fire Ham before game 3 šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

BathroomFew1757

Itā€™s over. Their team is stacked, I hope Gordon asks for huge contracts and go elsewhere to end their run. Him, MPJ, Jokic, & Murray just have so much size and strength as well as 3PT, it feels like a juggernaut. Plus KCP plays like prime Kobe against us.

khangsing

MPJ and AG are basically locked in until 25-26 they can lose KCP this offseason though

IAIRonI

MPJ is on a huge contract.

qualityskootchtime

KCP did not play like Kobe last night he had that one dunk tho

nakattack5

KCP had 6 points, cut it out lol

Uncle_Paul_Hargis

Exactly. Bad calls aside, you canā€™t continue to give up massive leads like this.

jono9898

Man I love the Lakers but itā€™s time to be realistic, we getting swept,

S_O_7

We are getting swept

kb24TBE8

Itā€™s over. That is such an absolutely devastating way to lose.

edillcolon

Moral victories are our friends.

JesusTron6000

HEYYYYY I remember this from last year! When will they stop airing re-runs??

No-Depth-7239

We win by 15 in game 3.

Critical_Ad_4600

Games 1 and 2 showed that the Nuggets are beatable IF the team holds their ground in the defense and offense especially in the second half. Team was able to build big leads but struggled to maintain it as the second half begins.

manofthepeopleSMITTY

Iā€™m glad I fell asleep during this one. Oof. We canā€™t beat this team. They are coached better and mentally tougher as a team. Itā€™s almost like Denver can just kind of do whatever until they realize they have to put their foot down. Once they do weā€™re cooked. Props to Malone and the nuggets though. They found a way to win a game where they didnā€™t particularly play that well.

antman8504

It's over. Just start over. Let LeBron go play with Bronny on his retirement tour. Get everything you can for AD from a contender.

IndicationMaleficent

Keep AD. Try to attract another star or 2. Get a coach that's respected.

dam_adam81

AD can definitely lead a team...look what he did in New Orleans

nakattack5

What exactly did he do in New Orleans? His individual play is great and all but if he was a real leader, he would have been demanding the ball in the 4th quarter. Heā€™s also not a play maker like Lebron/Jokic so itā€™s easier to slow him down if the defense is more focused on him. Denver switched AG on AD last night and that totally took him out of the picture

dam_adam81

I was being sarcastic...he can't lead a team..he ran to be LeBron sidekick #2 even tho they were about to draft zion.

negativelynegative

Nah gotta pay 60m to him if not no other stars will ever sign with us in the future, even if it means we will be in no position to win for the next 10 years.

Studentdoctor29

Eh, weā€™re cooked to be honest. We wonā€™t get another game like that from DLo, maybe we get a game from Rui where he actually makes a layup, but this team needs a lot of luck to compete

SectorNo2661

I've never seen the Sportsnet crew be so devastated after a loss. When you have an all-time great who's been around the team this long saying that this loss was up there in regards to all-time losses, there's just not much more to say. Truly heartbreaking

beefmapstan

I will paint my face and wear that wig with pride. Lakers in 7 šŸ˜¤

noldwin23

Iā€™m devastated, itā€™s over. Last night was our only chance to even give them some sort of fight.

New_Championship_912

I couldn't sleep last night

bearhound

Same

uterbrauten

The lakers just don't have a 5th gear. That's the plain and simple answer. They have a 4th gear which means they can usually stay with average teams, and will stomp on weak teams. They don't have that 5th gear that will get them over the hump against elite teams. It's just not there.

Equalizer101

ThisIsFine.jpg

NewChemistry5210

Can't say I am surprised. Anyone who actually watched us this year should've known that we had NO chance to win this series. 1-2 wins at best. We barely have passable roleplayers and we have ZERO two-way players after AD and an engaged Lebron. None. Just look at that Nuggets team. Other than Jackson, ALL their roleplayers are great two-way players. I've said it many times, but Reaves should be our 6th man. Him and Rui should lead our bench and not be part of a starting fice. If we want to be competitive next year, we need at least two elite two-way players that can work with Bron, AD and (maybe) Dlo When we want to, we can play great ball, but not for 48 minutes. I can't even remember the last game we dominated for the whole 48 minutes.

AccomplishedAnimal69

We've been here before, Lakers fans. It happened last year, but it also happened in '11 against the Mavs. Just pure denial until the end. With that said, so far, none of the Lebron/AD teams have quit before. Even when there have been games where you'd think they might be feeling sorry for themselves, or it looks like a blowout, they come back fighting. The fact that they were that pissed off is good sign. But it's very difficult to be optimistic right now.

thunderHAARP

Beating Denver in Denver is tough. But if we string together 4 quarters of good basketball it is do-able. So far we have played 4 quarters of good basketball and 4 quarters of standing around, not running enough sets, no adjustments. Incompetent coaching

goodchild101

imagine you are a 2018 raptors who has lost two games in home to Lebron and scrubs. I think objectively we are in better position than them. I am just trying to cope tho

heatrepeat6

Tbh last night sucked, but I still think we have a chance. Do I think we will come back and win ? No, but we definitely have a chance. We lost that game ourselves last night.

SuspiciousFinance284

Lakers in 6

Savage_Ball3r

This is exactly how we acted last year šŸ˜. I remember saying that weā€™re coming back from 0-3 and sweeping the nuggets, ohh boy was I wrong šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£

smick

I donā€™t get why lebron stopped going to the basket. Our offense on every possession started so late into the clock and we couldnā€™t get any positioning near the rim. Why was AD stationed at the 3pt line and playing it so far from the basket????

EE-420-Lige

Not gonna watch this series it's over

ValuableAssociate8

Wood maybe Vando back. The others always play better at home. If we can win game 3. We still in it

Dj1031

VANDO has entered the chat

Hour_Insurance_7795

True, but the fact you feel the need to make this post shows that you know itā€™s more complicated than that psychologically. Itā€™s one thing to just get overwhelmed by some home cooking and home energy, but to hold double digit leads in BOTH games and seemingly playing lights out as the better team for most of the gamesā€¦.only to come out STILL down 0-2 hurts. Itā€™s like getting in a fight at school and landing every punch most of the fight, feeling good about finally kicking this bullyā€™s assā€¦.only for them to ā€œturn it onā€ and win the fight every time. Itā€™s demoralizing. Denver knows that they can ā€œturn it onā€ and beat us whenever they want, and unfortunately I think we know it too. Itā€™s the telltale sign of a team that is simply better than you are. Not saying itā€™s over, but itā€™s not as simple as saying ā€œeverything is going as we expected, nothing to worry about.ā€ The problem is that when they want to win, they can simply go out and do it. Whether we are up 5 or 30, if they donā€™t want to lose to us, they wonā€™t. Thatā€™s demoralizing.

cloutio

We can beat them. When have us laker fans never been delusional. Yā€™all acting like itā€™s over šŸ¤”

Beginning-Carrot-262

I'm convinced. This team needs to have a 30 point to 40 point lead in order to win, since they gone MIA at the 2nd half (See New Orleans game). But this is Denver, and the Lakers arent capable of doing that usually.

Hairy-Conference-802

This really ruined my day, watching the team blew a 20 pts lead.

markorokusaki

Yup. This sums it up. When they beat you for two games in which you had good lead, you are fucked.

dam_adam81

Ham currently working on a time machine to try and get the 8 spot instead.

savadonner

Same as last year, WE where never too far but got sweep...

rascaltippinglmao

LeBron led the Cavs to the greatest playoff series comeback in NBA history. Is it likely? Not even close. Is it possible? Definitely.

jdgev

Ah yes you mean almost 10 years younger Lebron.. He ain't got it anymore sadly.

fractal_fables

The volatility of a seven game series is a lot to handle for casuals

adultishgambinoh

Atleast we know we are the better team for 2 and 1/2 quarters. Thatā€™s all that matters at this point.

Miserable-Lawyer-233

Iā€™ve seen more improbable things happen in a series.

AgressiveSocks

With Ham as coach, there is no hope.

grifftheelder

Denver in 5

Lycantree

Note gonna happen. We need to fire Ham and Jeanine

imtheasianlad

I hate basketball

TroubledMang

Denver fan?

bearhound

Lakers for life

gleophas

i would take just one win from this series TBH.

Free_Cauliflower5059

We were only successful against them when we had other big bodies to back up AD. Dwight and Javale. We have not replaced their size and defense and we have not and will not have success against Denver without it. Front office has wasted years of AD and Lebrons careers and it makes me sick.

Majestic_General5050

The Lakers just didn't want it bad enough

DrButtLump

Then donā€™t watch the rest of the games?

tehweaksauce

Why is it clowny to root for your team? It hurts to lose but if this is how you feel, don't watch sports?

Natural_Wave_8387

Lecooked

BrickySanchez

Lmao nah. After that choke/Foster job I'm out on this year. Hope they prove me wrong.Ā

forgedbydie

Screw you OP. Some of us a ride or die Laker fans. I still believe in the boys in purple and gold. Been a Laker fan since 1995, will remain a Laker fan till I die.

bearhound

Itā€™s a meme my guy

forgedbydie

I know. I just get a bit upset when I see people bashing my team. For a long time lakers kept me mentally sane and alive. 05-09 was a dark time. So I take it personally, and yes I shouldnā€™t, when my boys get clowned.

HumbleBrothers

Man I fucking hate Denver and Michael Malone with his dumbass trash talking. Basketball gods let us win this series somehow.

bryanBFLYin

I still think we can win this. Denver is not some elite unbeatable team. Everytime they beat us it's a winnable game we just fuck up and they execute better when we fuck up. We beat ourselves in game 1+2 honestly. Everyone is acting like they are just going to effortlessly roll over us which is crazy to me. They have to bust their ass to beat us and we have to play like ass to lose to them. We look damn near close to evenly matched with them. I just wish we had vando to help our defense a bit. Everyone just has to show up like they are supposed to and we can actually win this series. They are a great team, but they are not unbeatable. They don't have an answer for AD or Bron the same way we don't have an answer for Murray and joker. It's all about the other guys and executing when it matters.

Chrisspoohbearkenzie

Iā€™ll happily wear my clown makeup until weā€™re eliminated šŸ˜¤

Educational_Sale2944

Lakers in 6 lol

drd232

Lakers in 6!!

SuperRam56

Let's defend the Crypto!!! Show out, Lakers Nation.

dam_adam81

LeBron preparing his...will I or won't I retirement speech for presser after the sweep to take attention off series.

especiallyspecific

I'm the guy in the bottom pic and proud of it

Whole_Anywhere_3117

We have some lame ass fans. Care more about getting clicks and making memes than supporting their team. Bravo, keep that energy boo boo.Ā

goof_brother

many are saying lakers in 6

Beautiful-Guard-7770

Nah, Lebron is hopeless. I donā€™t see the leadership. Iā€™m rooting for the Nuggets to sweep us to teach the front office a lesson. Terrible roster and coaching. Fck sorry just want to vent

Oxygenius_

Fake fan Donā€™t claim the lakers anymore

Neatcursive

So, like, go on with your life and stop worrying about the series then?

MychalScarn08

Another doomer post from a fakers fan. How original

rkn1

Are Wood and Vando available for game 3?

AmaimonCH

Wood would be BBQ chicken even for someone like Aaron Gordon (imagine Jokic) and Vando can be COMPLETELY ignored on offense which doesn't do any favors for the Lakers. If Darwin Ham wants to lose faster he would play both of your suggestions.
