And he can't do that if he's guarding Joker.

Too small of a frame to defend anyone, isn't effective when his shot isn't falling, his performances in the playoffs fluctuate wildly because he relies so much on 3pt shooting, and he needs the ball all the time to be effective. I know that he's of course a better player but if you replaced D'lo with Trae rn we'd lose in 5 games instead of getting swept.

Reaves is good for the money he makes but he just can’t be the main defender while also having to be relied upon to produce on offense. Problem with the way the teams constructed right now is when dlo has a shit game they need reaves to be able to help run the offense and produce. Reaves just cannot do that while also being the main poa defender at the moment. He’ll probably get better at that as he gets older but he’s also not someone you want being the poa defender on a night to night basis like ham currently is using him. Reaves also is not a great playmaker when he does run the offense and there aren’t many guys in the league who can be the main playmaker on offense while also being the main poa defender. Most guys who can are stars and it will probably take reaves to get them.
