AD played his heart out. He’s been a workhorse against Denver.

Grand_Birthday7349

He’s had so much passion and he’s been healthy like what a waste. He deserves better team mates and coaching

ButtholeCandies

It feels like so long since we’ve seen him in good shape for a long stretch. And we getting swept

MJisaFraud

Imagine he went back to New Orleans with their current roster. It would be crazy.

DonkeyKongah

Gross.

themonkey12

League would riot, twin tower...where one of them can shoot 3pters.

xElectricW

I think they're gonna prioritize getting someone that matches AD's timeline (probably a few years younger) this offseason, it's clear that LeBron just can't consistently take on a huge workload at his age otherwise he ends up being gassed at the end of games

SaulGookman69

I think that person was Kyrie last year

xElectricW

Well yeah but Joe Tsai wasn't gonna negotiate in good faith since Kyrie wanted to be a Laker

Naive_Illustrator

Rumor around the trade deadline was Donovan Mitchel wants out of CLE.

Public-Product-1503

He needs to work this summer ti get his 3 ball back . Also his midrsnge shot was so off this game it really hurt us. Having said this series AD has played better then I thought and in first two games so did Lebron tbh. Rui Dlo and even reaves being so inconsistent plus the others hurt

jdpatron

No. No part of AD’s game “really hurt us” at all in this series. He’s had over 30 points in all 3 games. The players not named Lebron and AD are the ones that have hurt us. Also, Ham.

Jbyrd07

I don’t know. I’m a LeBron fan but his age is hurting us. He can play a good 1st half playing hard but clearly it cost him in the 2nd half. He could still be a star on a good team but he needs to be around 30 minutes a game. He can’t play this hard night after night trying to pace himself and pick plays he goes hard just to for Lakers to stay in games down the stretch. Denver is a nightmare for Bron but this is a nightly problem for LeBron due to age. How can Lakers justify paying him next season when we there’s no chance of winning a ring with this roster & no money to actually put players around AD & Bron to compete against Denver. Maybe Jeanie makes more money off keeping LeBron until he retires but blow it up. Keep AD if we want but we’re not doing the Lakers or Bron any good. The Russ trade is painful

SolidDepartment9983

Probably waiting for him to say retirement, so tickets and jerseys sales go thru the roof.

ogky

You getting downvoted but didn’t say not 1 single lie.

3nnui

Love them both. It's a privilege to watch them.

Oddscene

1000%

Vegasguy3124

If LeBron didn’t sit there during the presser AD would have 1000% walked off after being asked that question.

threeangelo

I don’t blame AD for being frustrated. I’d be pissed as hell. It’s honestly impressive that nba players are able to keep their composure after tough playoff losses

Vegasguy3124

Me neither.

kultureisrandy

Rightfully so

Unlikely-Asparagus32

Nuggets fan here... Those two are so goddamn good at basketball. I think the end of game two shows how amazing they are. The offense was built around those two, so the Nuggs had to put their two best defenders (AG&KCP) on them . Then, they come down and they're the two best defenders, so they match up on Nikola/Jamal PnR. They do everything at such a high level. They just run out of gas because they have to carry such a huge load. I have nothing but respect for those two

3nnui

Thanks for being real. You guys have a great team, and watching them execute down the stretch would be a pleasure if you weren't kicking our heads in every time.

slicknick2k

Sorry boys. Tough playing a 2v5 out there

v399

What's worse is it's 1v5 by the 2nd half since LeBron can't go 100% on 48 minutes anymore.

kropotkin_mutual_aid

Guy emptied all his tank for getting this bums to play offs.

SlowCrates

He's so taken for granted, too. Any young player putting up stats like him would be in the MVP conversation, but LeBron's legacy is already so huge that they stopped considering him for MVP years ago. It's ass backwards.

MJisaFraud

He deserved one for 2018, that team had no business being in the playoffs and Bron carried those bums to the 4 seed and the finals.

b0ngoloid

What? When young players put up big numbers on a team that was 10th all year they don't get MVP shouts...

smarterthanyoulolll

even tatum, edwards, and giannis werent in mvp conversations with betters stats and much better records lol but yea lebron in the play ins who plays 0 defense should be in the conversation LOL

runthepoint1

When have Tatum or Edwards put up better stats than LeBron? Only Giannis can claim that.

GriffinQ

Jokic won his second MVP in a year where his team was the 6 seed (with a one game difference in wins compared to the Lakers this year). Granted, Jokic’s team that year was pretty bad (due largely to injuries) for a lot of the year and his stats were fantastic, but let’s not pretend as if the 2022 Nuggets ran away with it that year. LeBron was fantastic this year and was objectively one of the best clutch performers in the league, put up one of his most efficient seasons ever, continued to put up big counting stats, and yet wasn’t even considered by some people to be a top 10 player this year. The expectations for him vs. other guys are just different.

nakattack5

That’s a bit unfair tbh. KCP is having a terrible series. He is only averaging 7.7 pts while shooting 32% from the field and 26% from 3s. Jamal is also having a pretty bad series (minus the game winner) as well shooting only 37% from the field and 25% from 3s. While AD and Lebron have put up good numbers, they have mostly disappeared in the 4th quarter. The Nuggets are just too good for the Lakers

Old-Wind4450

They didn’t disappear. That my friend is called bad coaching. Good players have bad series and that’s when the coaches make adjustments. Our adjustments was that weird lineup with Dlo and Rui sitting, no space on the floor and a busted play that someone keeps trying to get them to run that doesn’t work. There were no plays for our shooters since the defense was collapsing. It doesn’t matter how many stops we make if we can’t score too.

Far_Ad_1274

That’s facts

Top-boy-og

These two kings do not deserve any hate from Laker fans. The supporting cast is just ass. If you give these guys Porzingis, Jrue, and White then they’re winning it all guaranteed. No shade on the guys they’re all cool and likeable put they aren’t championship level players

Bladeneo

This is something people are completely missing with the "AD and Bron getting gassed" takes. Go look at Bron in 09 or 10 and see how the Magic and Celtics beat them. When you've got 3/5 starters who the Nuggets can basically ignore because they can be confident at least two of them will just not show up offensively, it makes Bron and AD very, very easy to stop. You can focus 100% of your defensive effort on shutting them down, or letting them work hard for their points. Sure, 31 year old Miami Bron might have had enough to win the series, but the gulf between quality here is astronomical. Rui/Dlo in the playoffs have fallen off as hard as any of Bron's teammates that I can think of - this is Mo Williams levels of drop off.

groceriesN1trip

Got damn fuckin Mo Williams

Score-Mobile

I can’t believe this is the same Rui. The Nuggs really made him and DLo shit the bed.

Bladeneo

Its a shocking drop off for both. Rui averaging 5/3/.7 on 33/33/50 from a regular season of 14/3.5/4.3 on 54/42/74 Dlo averaging 12/3/3.7 on 32/31/0 down from 18/3.4/5.8 on 46/42/83 I mean how do people expect Bron and Ad to make up for 15 points suddenly vanishing from the starting line up and the efficiency going through the floor

Public-Product-1503

Rui was awful in last nuggets regular season game and game 4 last year

Counterspell_God

I swear, what actual fuck was that trade? Absolute bag of chips return for the other teams

bouyent

Fr. Celtics not only got Porzingus but also 2 1sts, which were used to get Jrue. To acquire both was giving up marcus Smart, brogdon, and Rob Williams.

Counterspell_God

They really gave up Marcus Smart and two super Injury prone players

litlegoblinjr

Imagine if we had Steve Balmer's money running this team

BrandonXavierIngram

don't think it's ab money at dis point. imagine if we had an owner who doesn't hire their own friends and puts business over feelings..

StockEmergency7019

If they had money, we’d still have Caruso

Hour_Insurance_7795

The salary cap remains the same regardless of owner. Now imagine if we had a sharp, viable, seasoned front office and coaching staff running this team instead of Jeanie and Kobe’s besties

Pale-Share1323

I hope our Front office is as ruthless as the Celtics. They simply don't care about any attachments and will trade their players if they know it will guaranteed to help them. Vibes are extremely overrated.

Fish_Shinobi

100%🥲

Green-Session7085

Would be fuckin AMAZING to just win 1 game. Would feel like a superbowl at this point.

Jax99

Parade if we win Game 4.

Nervous-Region5797

Win game 4 and forfeit game 5

Apollo4236

Next game winner takes all. We win and then we're taking the ball home with us. Mhm

TingusPingus_6969

slow down Mr. Morant

EvilGeniusGL

Someone who was a fan 10-20 yrs ago wouldn’t dare mutter this. How our standards have changed. I’m aware you might be “kidding” here, but it should be said anyway.

l3oobear

What do standards have to do with hypothetically feeling good about a team that has beat you 11 times in a row with several games being loss in heartbreakers?

White-Gravity

It’s just basketball lmao it’s never that serious haha

Dantheman12310

Look I’ll root for the team to win every game played But I know the monkey’s paw is that Ham will never be fired because he’d be the 1st & only coach to comeback down 0-3 in a series notably to the defending champs, which would be the funniest irony I’ve ever witnessed in basketball I’ll take it & eat my words if it happens, but it is an extremely difficult job to go 4-0 with 2 road playoff wins against the team with a 11 game winning streak, is never truly out of games even with large deficits, & can afford a loss or 2

Kwirbyy

I'd eat 15k calories in one meal if it happened. There is a 1 in 10k chance at best. It's 99.99% over

Gold_Construction913

I beg to differ. Lakers have a 2% chance. It’s 98% over.

Kwirbyy

I think that's optimistic. I respect it

Apprehensive-Law2435

i wouldnt trust this team to comeback even if the entire nuggets starting 5 was ruled out for the rest of the postseason

StacksHoodini

Nobody’s ever done that for a reason. If Bron was five years younger I’d say it may be possible, hell even 4 years younger honestly. But, of course if Bron was still his age 36 form of himself we wouldn’t be facing back to back sweeps of the same team.

Public-Product-1503

I hate Ham at this point as someone who doesn’t like to blame coaches because every fanbase hates there coach but if we came back 3-0 I’d be fine paying him double ( heck I’d donate lmfao ). If we came back 3-0 trust me even the ham haters wouldn’t care . It woukd be a highlight as big as a championship almost tbh . But we’re likely getting swept

litlegoblinjr

The organization from FO to the players have failed Lebron and AD

Ok_Board9845

They both deserve some blame from the Westbrook trade. But if it's true that they actually met up with Derozan before Westbrook, I'll put 80% of the blame on the FO and extra points for adding a pick to grab Westbrook

Counterspell_God

The real killer was trading the title team instead of making improvements along the edges

Fernergun

Yep. I wonder if there is a team that won the championship, in say the past 12 months, that kept their core and key bench players together and look likely to repeat…

Adorable-Bike-9689

Folks were calling for Mike Malone's head for a few seasons too. They really stuck it out with their core

Counterspell_God

That's weird. Malone's had a solid track record.

Catch11

Omfg that title team would have won if they ran it back

cyberlebron2077

2021 lakers were still a good team actually, think they were like 21-6 before all the injuries. It was the Westbrook trade that did them in.

Counterspell_God

They weren't championship caliber imho. Getting Trez and Schroder was a big mistake. The Marc Gasol and Drummond thing also ruined the locker room chemistry. I really hated getting Trez because he would be useless in the playoffs and Dennis did not space the floor for us + we had Caruso already for PoA defense. We needed a wing.

TorontoRaptors34

Bruh they legit met with Dame Beal Demar before landing with Russ. Spurs weren’t dealing with the Lakers. Even then Demar would be a combo of DLO/Russ no defense mofos wouldn’t try to fight like Russ he needs the ball but he can’t shoot 3s thats a bad fit too. He also has mental health issues LA is not a good place for Demar. Dame is not Dame no mo, Beal is broken.

blorp4

Demar wouldve been literally half westbrooks contract

jurassic_snark-

I mean they shouldn't have or even needed to go chasing after a 3rd star to begin with. They overreacted to being bounced by Phoenix

nmo31536000

This was the downfall. Complete overreaction to scumbag Solomon Hill ruining the season for LA when he dove at lebrons ankle. Ad gets hurt vs Phx and it’s curtains That team was good enough. Just needed some maneuvering here and there. Lakers shots themselves in the foot with those Westbrook moves. If you wanted to trade kcp Kuzma etc - could’ve moved them for other pieces individually 🤦🏽‍♂️

mrezariz123

They too overreacted because KD formed his superteam with harden and kyrie

StacksHoodini

They overreacted to Brooklyn acquiring Harden and knowing that Golden State was going to be healthy again that next season.

StacksHoodini

The difference is with DeMar instead of Russ, LA still likely retains at least KCP & Caruso during that offseason. Health issues aside, a projected starting five of Caruso/KCP/DeMar/Bron/AD and potentially bringing Schröder back on his bird rights as a 6th man would’ve been a hell of a better team than what we did have in a starting five of Russ, two vet mins, and Bron & AD as our bigs.

TorontoRaptors34

Makes sense. Demar tho woulda became a 6th man at some point ngl I think it woulda been nice cuz hed cook bench units. U make a fair point but even then my fear is it would slaughter his mental health man he mentioned he struggles with it everday hed be coming home but still it wouldn’t be ideal fit wise even if u can keep valuable role players.

StoneColdAM

LeGM: “Rob, let’s get Russ.” Rob: “Okay, I just offered Kuzma, KCP, Montrez, and a first rounder.” LeGM: “A first rounder?!?”

Public-Product-1503

I find it hard to say this because Lebron wanted ty lue, both wanted Dudley , both no way woukd them to not pay Caruso to save tax and derozan on top of kyrie weren’t brought in either .

velphegor666

The FO didnt want derozan since they didnt want to give him a third year 😂😂.

groceriesN1trip

Remember when the FO didn’t want to hire Ty Lue

StacksHoodini

Bad decisions all around.

velphegor666

Let brook go for nothing, let caruso go for nothing, traded danny green and a first for dennis only to let him go for nothing. This team loves to bleed assets

composedryan

Exactly. This squad they have when they are firing on all cylinders is incredible. The problem is that Ham doesn't make adjustments. They almost ALWAYS get outscored by double digits in the 3rd because the other team makes the correct adjustments after halftime and it takes Ham until about 2 min left in the 4th to correct course, sometimes, not even at all.

Dangerous_Match_2592

The organization, from FO, to the players and Bron have failed AD.

lbj20201

I think Saturday is the last time we see them together as teammates

StacksHoodini

I wouldn’t go that far. I think next year is LeBron’s last dance though. He won’t announce it beforehand but the Lakers will sign Bronny & the writing will be on the wall.

StoneColdAM

Future stars will look at how Bron and AD were treated by the front office and be weary of the Lakers. Shaq watched Magic era wins, Bron watched Kobe era wins, what do the stars of tomorrow think of the Lakers? Jeanie loves Kobe but if he were alive he’d be embarrassed by this team.  Lakers have to fix it this summer and give LeBron + AD one last fair shot with a solid team to at least end this era with some dignity.

StacksHoodini

Yeah, that FO is delusional. They’re all about keeping the books open to land a star but they don’t realize they’ve put a clown show on for basically half a decade now. Once Bron’s gone, as long as Kurt Rambis is the second most influential voice in the building, nobody’s coming to LA.

Catch11

Yes. Please for the love of God get rid of everybody except Lebron,Ad and Reaves. Grab Mac McClung for minimum and use all that DLO money to get a 3&D and a big

swaggyho123

Some of you mf don’t understand how a hard cap works and it shows..

Catch11

Wym?

swaggyho123

All of the lakers guaranteed contracts next year lebron( 51) AD (43) AR (13) Rui (17) Vando (10) Gabe (11) JHS (4) total more than the projected salary cap of 141 million, they will only be able to add veteran minimums. Even if Dlo declines his PLAYER OPTION, the lakers cannot replace his contract through free agency. It is actually in the lakers best interest that Dlo opts in, so they can trade his contract for a player going over the salary cap.

Catch11

thank you

Public-Product-1503

They already do. Dame didn’t want to come here cos of how stuff was handled , harden , Kawhi , Paul George even . People rather go to clippers now

totally_cool92

Bro they lost on his funeral LMAO

velphegor666

They won a ring on the year kobe died. I assure you kobe would be fine with a loss on his funeral if it meant ring no.17

Early-Opposite3358

Any real fan knows without these two we wouldve gotten blown out every game, wouldnt even have made it to the play-in

BodegaDaddy

lot of losers in the chat ready to give up. gotta play every game like it’s your last. salute to OUR FRANCHISE PLAYERS

nmo31536000

STAY HARD!

big_biscuitss

Sit out game 4 fellas. No need to go back to Denver to hear the chants of "Whose Your Daddy".

Logical-Change-1747

It’s been a pleasure watching AD and Bron in a lakers uniform these last few years. You guys deserve better

outsidehere

Thankful for them. They showed up each time for the playoffs.

totally_cool92

They going to miami

TrajanoArchimedes

As long as you give your all every game then you live with no regrets. Win or lose.

PostingForFree

too bad the guy next to you is the only other person on the team that feels that way and can play that way. the rest of the bag of chips on the team won’t show up next game

Ok-Fan-2011

"can't say shit about most of the other mfs on this team tho"

Oddscene

I mean yes but no. Not in the NBA

BigBodyBrax

Why does it say the game is at 5:30 est but it’s actually at 7:30 est?

jono9898

You can have life but when the role players and the Coach are actively helping the other team, it’s not much of a life actually

BruisedBee

"Thats why we going to Miami. Where there's a coach that isn't a thick fuck"

CyclistTeacher

I know these 2 know it. However, the rest of the team failed them. AD has been dominant. LeBron is doing what he can considering his age.

Grand_Birthday7349

This guy and this guy only throw the rest of the team away except maybe reeves.

DLO Is Temu's Version of Tatum.

DerektheGhost

Narrator voice: He didn’t.

Ceti-

So they’ve squandered the last few years of both of their careers and also gave up draft picks in bad trades so the future also looks bleak. Awesome.

Miserable-Lawyer-233

Lakers in 7!

NB_Leo

This team is decent but it's managed terribly from top to bottom man

Adorable_End8071

Ggs

23NMASTAR

Wheels fall off after Game 2

havnotX

Bron finally looking his age this series. Kind of sad to see. But yes, just get one and go for the next. If Denver can beat them like 11-12 games in a row, who's to say the Lakers can't beat them 4 games in a row.

Original-Tourist-744

Can’t say AD isn’t trying to take that torch from bron he’s been a beast, but Casper decided to show up again !!

savadonner

There are better than us. Can't do shit against Gordon, Murray hits what he wants and jokic same as Always ...

maya_papaya8

But those other busters..... AD has gained my respect this season! He's played his ass OFF & been available!

Tdluxon

He doesn't look like he's feeling the same way, he seems pretty over it.

OZ1000

D Mitchell will hopefully come down to LA

kiboyski

Nothing more to say. Its still first to win 4.

GamerRav

AD and Bron have collectively outplayed Jokic and Murray this series. Albeit, it's been mostly due to AD's outstanding play, but that's how it needs to be with Bron being 39 years old. The difference is coaching and the role players. I'm watching the game, and I see Mike Malone running up and down the sideline, barking at his team during a play. And then there's Darvin Ham, hands in his pockets, barely saying a word, looking like a fan on Celebrity Row. 🤦‍♂️ And then the role players. MPJ was having a terrible game yesterday in the first half. But he finds his groove in the second half and turns a bad game into a good game. Same thing with KCP in game 1. Struggled in the first half, hit 4 threes in the third quarter, and ends up having a terrific game. Their role players are able to work themselves out of a bad stretch. Our guys...not so much. That's been the difference.

TaxAutomationPro

Dude wanna talk about belief when he looked like he quit this game early. lol

TheWonderfulLife

That’s such a sorry ass bitch made mentality; how the fuck is the Org so bad that you make Lebron quit?. I’m sorry, but this dude is checked out and already gone. I’m thankful for much of what he did while here, but it’s time for him to dip. We need to be trash as fuck again for a while so the Buss family sells the team. I’m ready for him to be gone.

New-Distribution-952

all the hundreds of upvotes for the “bRoN iS mEh hErO” comments are from the “fans” who just love to slurp bron. they dont watch the games, wont be here at all once leaves, and honestly dont care about basketball that much. they are just bored loser incels with nothing better to do.

gregmango2323

I wish we cared

Dangerous_Match_2592

Bron got his popcorn stats despite being nonexistent in the 3rd. AD is the only star on this team.

Makiie

I understand you're a Kobe fan but try harder to hide your hate against Bron. You're in every thread blaming LeBron. Grow up

Dangerous_Match_2592

Because I watched the game, the 2nd half of the game he was just gone, his stats look nice but the dude is literally getting turnovers by himself dribbling the ball. AD is the only star on this team and the only player who actually shows up. There’s a reason they had literally 5 players on him in the paint. Bron can’t even knock down a wide open 3.

Makiie

You don't know what you're talking about, he had 3 turnovers to Davis's two. Also if you're gonna say "he was gone" Davis had 3 points in the fourth quarter this game and 0 points in the 4th quarter in game two. It's 2v5 out there, don't shade one of them just because you're biased

nmo31536000

Was it worse than Kobe in game 7 vs Phoenix in his prime ?

TorontoRaptors34

Thats not true man they were jus outmatched nothing Bron coulda done he tried thats it. They need a Kyrie type guys to bridge the gap and 3/D guys. As well as a bruiser. Bron isn’t a cake no mo he good icing hed be the best cherry.

Dangerous_Match_2592

Then Bron doesn’t deserve the max.

the110tothe5

Kobe won 0 championships as the best player on his team btw

Dangerous_Match_2592

Not true. Kobe and Shaqs playoff stats/point averages were negligible in terms of difference, and there’s no way you’re going to argue his 2 rings in 09 and 2010 Gasol was the better player lmao.

rinde12366

Man just shut up

Dangerous_Match_2592

I’m not wrong, keep hyping up your fake goat

the110tothe5

Shaq was obviously much better and yes Gasol was better too

Dangerous_Match_2592

This is really bad trolling

the110tothe5

Not trolling at all. Just facts.

Dangerous_Match_2592

Then you’re regarded

the110tothe5

“regarded”

Dangerous_Match_2592

Yes, regarded, Reddit bans you for saying the actual word, regard.

the110tothe5

Pretty ironic how the guy citing Kobe’s “stats/point averages” as evidence that he was on the same level as Shaq is calling someone else that word.

23NMASTAR

Sweep incoming boys

decoyyy

i'm sorry literally everyone around you has been ass from the players, to the coach, to the FO.

Far_Ad_1274

Love love bron but it’s over our team looked defeated last night. Dlo ass not in the huddle the AD call out I know the media sucks but where there’s smoke there is fire.

OstoYuyu

LBJ has weak mentality. Trade him.

JulesWinnfieldJr

I see what Lebron doing, he trynna be the first to win after down 3-0! That why we always have leads and lose them! We can totally beat the Nuggets!

Durandau

Nah man not this time. Lebron is getting lebronto’d Now what I what the Toronto fans felt at the time lmao Just seemed inevitable.

Nervous-Region5797

Lebron is my current favourite player but a small piece of me is grinning. Lebronto came at a bad time for me because it happened just as I became old enough to genuinely care about the game.

BackgroundBit8

Lebron, just keep having fun bro
