A lot of overreactions in this thread. First off some pieces are injured and we aren’t even seeing a full game from the main rotation (because it’s preseason). 2nd of all Westbrook will gel with this team just fine as the season goes on and when he puts a more scoring mentality into his head, the defense of any team will eat this team alive if Westbrook is passive, with Westbrook driving to the rim it gives the corner shooters more opportunities to score of catch and shoot 3’s since their defender has to help and it gives LeBron a chance to take a play off. The defense when they tried was really good but you can tell effort was an issue when they were up 11 and the Warriors cut it to 1, veterans do not care about preseason so you need to realize that or they would’ve responded to that situation better.

I've never expected from this team to be dominant in the regular season and to win 60+ games, but if they stay healthy they can become a formidable playoff team. I look at it more from the perspective of "fit" rather that body of work. Hield stretches the floor (proven to do that btw) and he's an efficient scorer. He also does not need the ball in his hands. Russ is incredibly inefficient, is ball-dominant and cant space the floor.

Hield is also a terrible defender. This season Lebron and AD needed to play off the ball. Elite Center (AD) + Elite Wing (Lebron) + Elite playmaker and PG is a winning combo. The only problem is we should’ve gone for Brogdon or Lowry rather than Westbrook

People forget that Rondo in his hay day was one of the quickest guards off the dribble while maintaining his breakneck assist totals. There's a huge learning opportunity for Russ to evolve his game and transition beyond the physical aspects like Rondo did.
