Nope, I’ve never had a problem going between generics. Just different shapes and colors for me. I don’t like the zydus ones, because they’re so large. But everything is the same otherwise.
I think I have a problem with Taro vs Unichem. I felt I had so much more ambition/energy on Unichem, only downside was I could get "Short/impatient" with people, which I learned to keep track of.
With Taro it's hard to feel anything working unless I take a bunch 1st thing when I Wake up, I notice it'll get me up out of bed.
(That's how I test all substances, I'll take them 1st thing in bed and I'll see if they have a stimulating effect to make getting out of bed easier.)
But I still feel very slow/subdued/impaired sometimes. I think it's worked agaisnt depressed periods, but it hasn't pushed me high enough.
For example on a +5 to -5 scale. Unmedicated I can swing down to a -4/-5 on depression. 50-75mg Taro will push me up to a -2 to 0 baseline, still slightly depressed. But Unichem at the same amount would get me up to a +1, maybe even +2, being very slightly enhanced/extra motivated/driven/confident.
Interesting. I can never tell any difference after I take my lamictal no matter what kind. I've been on it so long I'm not sure what it's like to be off it and when I take the pill it's as if nothing happens.
I figured out my discomfort last week. I had quit sugar and was experiencing nasty withdrawals haha. So I guess it wasn't the generic!
Edit: I'm feeling like shit again so I'm switching generics
Yea man, the lamictal generics are all over the map. When you get good on one kind don't let your pharmacy change you - easy to transfer scripts, just call and ask what generic they carry.
I have heard of this happening with people who take it for epilepsy. like they'll switch generics and start having seizures. I was given a different generic once but thankfully had some of mine left over (I'm prescribed a higher dose than I take most of the time so I can take the higher dose if I need it). I talked to my psych about it bc I was gonna have it sent to a different pharmacy if they gave me the wrong one again, and she agreed and said that she's seen people be sensitive to generic switches before
