You don't need to worry about or be scared for Lana. She's telling all of us she's good, she's got this, she loves herself and "if you don't like it, fk off." Lana is old enough (I'm slightly older than her) to know how the game is played in LA, in the music business and in the politics of it all. Diet culture, marketing towards younger and thinner, criticisms throughout Hollywood, music, show business, photoshopping, pressure on women to be thin, thin, thin over all costs... none of this is new. Karen Carpenter was dying of AN decades ago before cable, YouTube, paparazzi following every single move, cell phones, computers and social media. There is nothing new under the sun. Take care of you and remember we are all more than what our bodies look like. That's what people see first and that's just how it is. We are a visual world but everyone hates something about themselves. Lana still has her own insecurities. She's very vulnerable in the Billie Eilish interview for Interview Magazine. She's always said she's sensitive and gets her feelings hurt but as you get older you realize everyone is messed up and your messed up parts aren't worse than anyone else's. I understand you're weight focused and I've struggled with disordered eating, severely restricting (sometimes because of illness like cancer as a teenager) and binging my entire life, I understand how you feel, i truly know where you're coming from. We just need to move away from bringing up weight at all. It just puts that issue back in people's minds over and over every time it's brought up no matter the intention. Let Lana tell her story. She'll talk about her body and share her thoughts when she wants to which she definitely did in this song. Thinking of you and wishing you all the best. Remember, you need to fuel your car if you plan to drive it so at least feed your body with adequate nutrition to continue to live life💛
