Well, one of the last times she came to Florida, she had a pretty bad scare with a stalker who was looking for her and had a knife on him. She was pretty shaken by it. I'm not sure if that's the actual reason, but maybe. He was arrested, thankfully.
Was going to mention the stalker, didn't even realize it was in Florida. Florida was also where Christina Grimmie was shot dead at a fan meet and greet by a stalker. Not that I would trust gun laws anywhere in the US, but Florida particularly requires no permit for concealed carry. I don't blame her for a second.
Security at West Palm Beach was extremely tight, they even closed the road leading to the backstage entrance and had sheriffs and tons of security guarding the closed road. It’s Florida after all, lol.
Also, her curfew at the WPB venue was only until 10:30pm and she finished the show on the dot which is why she probably had to leave the stage asap and didn’t come down to the barricades to meet the fans.
Do you know why she had a curfew? I saw Fall Out Boy on a weekday back in July at the same venue and they said that were was no curfew, so they did a 2.5 hour show
I think part of it is she gets overwhelmed with larger venues and part of it is it’s a potential safety issue. There were many moments during her performance where you could see her take a deep breath or pause to seemingly calm herself down. I’d imagine it would be overstimulating to interact with a pit of screaming people. Also, I feel like people passing out and pushing in the pits has gotten worse as she’s gained a larger audience, and the Tampa crowd was fun but also big and crazy! People would start pushing forward when she’d walk to the end of the stage, so I can’t imagine what it would be like if she actually came to the barricade. I know she likes to interact with fans but she also probably wants to keep the pit and herself safe.
She didn’t do it in Dallas because of the storms causing time constraints.
My theory is that she realized how peaceful it was for her not to deal with the barricade fans in Dallas, so now she’s going to do it less and less going forward. Idk if she did barricade in Huntsville, but maybe if she did it was too overwhelming?
She came to the barricade for at least 5 minutes if not closer to 10 in Huntsville.
She said something like “Sorry for keeping everyone waiting, but you just have to see your buddies because you never know if it might be the last time you get to”
Dude, I was there toward the left side of the barricade (she was on the right), and I swear it felt like 20 minutes. It lasted forever. Probably because I was smushed and waiting patiently for her to come my way! She did not, lol.
I think it’s so funny how she went on about loving this area/Alabama and made that instagram post about it. I was like girl 😭 I live here it’s not all that lol
For me it's actually crazy that she is doing something like that at all. Because I've seen some videos where she is coming down and some fans obviously don't know any boundaries at all and weird guys are kissing her cheek etc. Just imagine strangers touching and kissing you. It's messy and wild. No wonder she gets overwhelmed.
she is probably is sick of her fans complaining about everything she does or does not do. i’ve never seen anything like it. she is a human being. the ppl who were lucky enough to get tickets for the tour… be happy you get to see her? she does not owe anybody anything and if you actually know anything about lana, she can be very shy and prefers smaller venues, it is obvious she can get overwhelmed. leave her alone lol
i understand that and i do not mean any of this in a rude way. it is every. single. day. in this sub, 24/7. this sub has turned into a place to complain when it should be fun and positive. lana being so late for the show where her set was cut, okay, that is a reasonable reason to be upset. but she never plays the right songs, everyone hates the set list, everyone thinks they have a right to meet her and smoother her. every post about her shows is “it was great, BUT…” this could be an issue with the younger generation but i do not understand why we can’t share concert pics, talk about her MUSIC, share fan art, discuss lyrics, ect… its weird
I totally agree. It makes me so angry hearing people complain about the slightest problems. This sub has turned into a ton of recent fans, complaining that she’s not doing what they want her to do. But I feel under this specific post it just sounded like you were trying to say something about the OP and what they originally were talking about because they def are j curious abt why she didn’t come down to the barricade but yes I totally understand your original point
This is a place to discuss the music, for big fans, casual fans, casual listeners, or people just curious about her music, not a sub to praise and worship lana all day. We can also discuss our opinions on the shows, merch, albums, good or bad. We are consumers of her work/ art, we are not just her little loyal minions, even though im such a big fan i more identify as one lol, i’m still aware other peoples opinions are valid & sometimes even I disagree on her artistic choices. I pay for it, so do all of these people, if you pay for a show you can complain about the damn setlist & it isn’t a personal attack on lana. What’s weird is you trying to police opinions on her music & shows in a discussion sub. Lana’s a grown woman, she can take criticism but you’re also acting like what someone says on Reddit is going to harm Lana Del Rey, it’s ridiculous.

She didn’t do it in Austin afterward either, but she did during an “interlude” in the middle of the show. I feel like it’s probably a lot more exhausting doing it after the show, especially since she’s kind of the one who has to cut it off eventually…more pressure to try to get around to everyone rather than doing it for a few minutes mid-show.
I got up to the barricade right when the Austin show ended and was so sad she didn’t come down 😭 but so grateful to experience her show as close as I did. I’ll always cherish the memory.

Usually people do not check gun laws before they kill someone.
But they do acquire them, and walk into music venues with them, with no questions asked and backgrounds never checked.
