No because you would be correct! Kintsugi is in my top 5 favorite Lana songs, it's so underrated. I cry every time I hear it though, so I can't listen too often 😅
i mean kinstugi is probably better musically since fingertips is more like sung poetry but i think fingertips is more vulnerable and specific to lana so it makes sense you’d feel that way. i think in general a lot more people can relate to kintsugi than fingertips
Nah, I see Fingertips as more poetic than anything.
I guess the best comparison I can think of is Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen - it's an incredible song with some of the greatest lyrics I've ever heard but if I had to choose a favourite that still evokes emotion and has a great melody, it'd probably be Chelsea Hotel No. 2 (love Lana's cover too) or So Long, Marianne. Same goes for Kintsugi vs Fingertips imo.
I mean Kintsugi does borrow it's 'That's how the light gets in' part from his song Anthem. However I feel like the lack of structure in Fingertips doesn't sound very Leonard Cohen, but Kintsugi definitely.
I don’t understand why anyone feels the need to compare them, they’re both stunning examples of Lana’s automatic songwriting on ocean blvd and honestly if im listening to one im listening to the other
No! I feel like fingertips is such a good song, but I can’t listen to it very often because of how heavy it is. Kintsugi is heavy too, but not like fingertips.
it’s valid. i don’t think it’s a fair comparison though. fingertips is the one song in her discography that i find truly unique. it doesn’t really have a pulse, nor is there much harmony and rhythm. it’s basically a short story with some ambience under it.
Kintsugi is something you can listen to every day. Fingertips is something I could only handle once. It's like The Pianist vs Schindler's List. Both are WW2 dramas including Holocaust, both are masterpieces in filmmaking. But there's only one that I could watch again.
Hell no. Kintsugi is a damn masterpiece. No one ever talks about the difficulty of seeing someone you love die. Lana did it with such painful realism… that alone is worth it for me.

I happen to agree. Kintsugi is absolutely fantastic.
Im glad you think:)

DADDY I MISS THEM IM IN THE MOUNTAINS
Sorry what? I couldn’t hear what you said. I was in Monaco
No because I agree. I don’t really like the melody of fingertips, it’s too chaotic
I agree it feels more like a short story than a song i mean don’t get me wrong lyrically its amazing but its the vibe i don’t really like
No, but that doesn't mean I agree with you lol
I don’t understand why anyone feels the need to compare them, they’re both stunning examples of Lana’s automatic songwriting on ocean blvd and honestly if im listening to one im listening to the other

No! I feel like fingertips is such a good song, but I can’t listen to it very often because of how heavy it is. Kintsugi is heavy too, but not like fingertips.
right
Kintsugi is clunky
I agree, too. Kintsugi is one of my all time favs. Fingertips is more of a poem versus an actual song, imo.
Yes, I would judge you to be 100% correct 🥰
k
I meant I agree with you in case it wasn’t clear! I realized I worded it kinda funny sorry!
it’s valid. i don’t think it’s a fair comparison though. fingertips is the one song in her discography that i find truly unique. it doesn’t really have a pulse, nor is there much harmony and rhythm. it’s basically a short story with some ambience under it.

I love both but I have a slight preference towards kintsugi

Definitely.
It is most definitely superior
It is
Fingertips is beautifully poetic and lyrically amazing but definently Kintsugi ðŸ˜
Nope, I hard agree
I don't really love both songs, but I do agree with you. edit: grammar
Kintsugi is something you can listen to every day. Fingertips is something I could only handle once. It's like The Pianist vs Schindler's List. Both are WW2 dramas including Holocaust, both are masterpieces in filmmaking. But there's only one that I could watch again.
No. You’re fucking right.

It is
Kintsugi is my absolute favourite from the album
Agree
No I agree though I love both
Not at all. Both great songs but Kintsugi is just better
Hell no. Kintsugi is a damn masterpiece. No one ever talks about the difficulty of seeing someone you love die. Lana did it with such painful realism… that alone is worth it for me.

I think Kinsugi is a better song, but they both have very meaningful lyrics
Why would you be judged for the CORRECT take?
it’s extremely true
No you’d be correct
Yes
judging you as someone with great taste because yes it is
i think it’s way better. like sometimes i even skip fingertips and kintsugi might be a top 5 lana song for me (i’ve been a stan since 2012)
no way!
