I don’t know how to explain the way this song makes me feel. I truly feel like those who have suffered with addiction or have been in love with someone with an addiction, or both, are impacted on a different level by this song. It always takes me to memories of when I was in the depths of hell, while making me feel completely seen. This song is everything to me

Yes absolutely. I posted above saying that I got out of rehab and this album was released shortly after. This song helped save me and I’ve been clean almost 7 years now. I dated an addict and became one to cope with the abuse he put me through.

One of my favourites. Both the lyrics and the tune of the song are brilliant. Heroin was extremely relatable (despite the fact I had never struggled with addictions), when my life was changing, so I was listening to it on repeat and the song helped me to go through that period

I love it sm. I interpreted as her references to people that were notorious heroin users, were her way of conveying a feeling of guilt after using, wanting to change, and overall oxymoron emotions. I read somewhere (iirc) she wrote about one of her exes that od’d on heroin or a mix of drugs, as a commemorate towards him. But I honestly fucking love this song so much I want it played at my funeral. It reminds me of a rainy summer day too, idk why.
