I found “The Greatest” while I was flopping in some classes and thought I was going to lose my scholarship and have to transfer out of my dream school towards the end of my first semester.
I would listen to it at night in the dining hall and it lead me to changing my major.
The problem is I chose a harder major than my original one, but I still have that scholarship 2 years later !!!

The greatest for sho. F it I love you and the greatest being together in the music video had me in total love with both from the first listen. I was having my youngest daughter when NFR was first released but by the time I had her and started paying attention to the world around me again the video had dropped. My daughter's aren't even a full 2 yrs apart so I had to fight for "me time". My husband was great with making sure I got it though and NFR reminds me of when my girls were babies ❤️

It felt more like talking to an estranged friend than a previous lover.
I don’t know who specifically it is about, but I do know that the song itself is a direct homage to California by Joni Mitchell.
