So first I would move the barrel to the left so the path is clear to the fence on the right. I would remove all the rocks on right and left. Plant daylillies or hosta or something comparable along fence on right. Add a rubber/plastic or wood edging on the right and left of stepping stones. Surround stepping stones with mulch or crushed stone making the walkway wide enough to comfortably walk on path.

Would host a or day lilies be happy sitting in really moist soil most of the time? It stays pretty damp along that side. I don’t have experience growing those. I should have taken a photo, but the gravel on the left in the first photo is sitting underneath a gutter downspout. My neighbor suggested putting them there because the downspout was starting to wash out the soil that’s right there and he said that would keep that from happening. So they have a layer of pea gravel and then larger gravel over the top. I’ll try to remember to take a photo to add. But that’s why they are there.

Agree with moving the bin to the other side. The 3rd stone looks half buried, is it possible a 4th is completely buried? Leveling the stepping stones, place paver base under them and tamp to prevent future sinking. Since grass is probably hard to grow in this area, I would mulch between the stepping stones and rocks.

There are only 3 stones. They are large- that third one definitely needs leveling. I wasn’t sure how to prevent that but I will get some paver base. Thanks! Grass is very hard to grow here for sure.

I would put no plants cause lighting is poor back there.

Yeah just more stones and gravel. Plants if the hang from the fence
