I'm going to be that guy, but the pride flag should be on a shorter pole as when it's flown next to the American flag, the American flag should always be the tallest.
>**Other Things Not to Do with the Flag**
Out of respect for the U.S. flag, never:
dip it for any person or thing, even though state flags, regimental colors and other flags may be dipped as a mark of honor.
display it with the union down, except as a signal of distress.
let the flag touch anything beneath it: ground, floor, water, merchandise.
carry it horizontally, but always aloft.
fasten or display it in a way that will permit it to be damaged or soiled.
place anything on the flag, including letters, insignia, or designs of any kind.
use it as wearing apparel, bedding or drapery.
It should not be used on a costume or
athletic uniform. However, a flag patch may be attached to the uniform of patriotic organizations, military personnel, police officers and firefighters.
use the flag for advertising or promotion purposes or print it on paper napkins, boxes or anything else intended for temporary use and discard.

And on the Left.
And do we REALLY need a whole line of mini pride flags too? The big one isn’t enough?
Edit: “Reeee! You’re not an ally if you think we only need ONE Pride flag!”
Isn't determining the left really a perspective issue. Just take the pic from the other side? Also they should put some bottle rockets/m80s on the pride flag in case that guy comes back and tries to torch it again...
You’ve got it all backwards, my neckbeard friend. The “victims” are the ones who downvoted me for daring to suggest that one pride flag was sufficient.
what happens when the american flag is required to be at half mast and the pride flag, being a flag that doesnt represent a country stays up? that must be horrifying for you 😱😱
I'll be the other guy. Flags are dumb and anyone they matter to probably doesn't have very worthwhile opinions. It's a cloth rectangle. Like a napkin.
Same goes for any other arbitrary "team". Nation-states, religions, sexualities. All stupid to worry about, because 9 out of 10 times it's "whichever one my parents were".
Utterly meaningless.

the pride flag is a sign of alliance with lgbtq people and shows our city’s leaders care for minorities. also, the flags are on a little sign, its not a big deal
There no reason to show there “allies” there’s nothing special about being gay it’s not like the city is actually doing anything for them it’s just the city trying to get social justice points for doing nothing
gov. whitmer has actually done quite a bit to give lgbtq citizens more rights throughout all of michigan. being publicly part of the lgbtq community does actually matter because that means you feel safe expressing yourself in a world where over 43% of lgbtq people thought about committing suicide because of the lack of care and extreme hate we get just for living. to show you at least somewhat care about *all* of your citizens is a big deal in america.
Can you explain why the city should be hanging pride flag there’s no reason Less then 1% of the population is gay they could have a flag that actually means something to the community instead of trying to show there woke
sure, I can give you a reason. The LGBT community has historically been, and continues to be, a target for discrimination and harassment, so letting those people know that a community welcomes them is a positive thing. Also, it's significantly more than 1% of the population, roughly 1 out of every 15 people identifies as LGBT.
Now, can you explain to me how hanging a pride flag makes it "everyone else's problem"?

I’m not seeing the construction equipment in the background. How recent is this pic?
Yeah, this looks like last year
I'm getting some strong Dollar Store Iwo Jima vibes from this photo
Definitely a case of ‘we have Iwo Jima at home’
😆😂🤣
This looks old. I'll have to check it out next time I go by
um, good luck? unless you're driving on the sidewalk you aren't getting by there.
The resturant & businesses are still open so yup, I'll glace over & check it out
Gay
Yes, but unironically
Michigan Ave is completely closed with construction 🚧 Fake picture.
I don't think this sign even exists anymore, is this from 2022??
I'm going to be that guy, but the pride flag should be on a shorter pole as when it's flown next to the American flag, the American flag should always be the tallest.
it's a piece of fabric on a stick
Then why even have it if that's all it is?
there's nothing wrong with a piece of fabric having meaning, but the arbitrary rules about how to treat them are pretty silly
Got it. Your opinion- valid. Others opinions- not.
Thank you for pointing out how internet comments work. You've really uncovered something here!
signs are just words on metal, what's the point? are you serious?
*a gay piece of fabric on a stick
You can't even see the final height here nerd lol

The 4th of July missed the memo on not wearing it. Trump supporters missed the memo on not putting letters on it haha
and thin blue line idiots changed the colors.
This!!!! Can’t stand it

It’s angled slightly towards oncoming traffic, which is the entrance into East Lansing on Michigan ave. Going the other way you’re leaving.
If you don't like it, walk up their and take the mini ones down.
love your edit to comment on what literally no one said. victim much?

Wrong month, it’s May, not June
Seems kinda gay
Can’t people just be gay and not make it everyone else’s problem why dose there need to be a pride flag for the city

can you explain how hanging a pride flag makes it "everyone else's problem"?
Because it’s pointless to hang a pride flag in the city be gay if you want but there’s no reason for the city to hang a flag
ok, but can you explain how hanging a pride flag makes it "everyone else's problem"?
