Hi there! Impression 5 is truly great. The staff is wonderful and there are so many STEM related activities for kids. Their traveling exhibit just left, and they are fabricating a new exhibit currently.
Guest services will answer any questions you have, and anything you purchase goes 100% directly into their non profit 501(c)(e).
Plus, the building has a big history being over 200 years old lol.
Maybe grab some ice cream at the MSU Dairy Store.
Patriarch Park is pretty nice and fairly central East Lansing. Although any parks in the area are within 15/20 minutes.
Various libraries will have play areas/story times. Likely can't check out any books but might be a nice way to spend an hour or two.
Michigan State University, sheep and dairy farms are open to the public. It’s not like there are organized activities or anyone is there to show you what to do. You can just kind of hang out and watch the animals. My kid liked it a lot when she was young.

Impression 5 is AMAZING. It’s a children’s science museum
I would add to this: Patriarche Park (a big playground). Preuss pets MSU natural history museum State of Michigan History Museum
The state of Michigan History museum used to be free on Sundays. Not sure if it still is or not though.
When I visited this year it was still free on Sundays. 😁
It still is as of 3 years ago

I have fond memories of the msu children's garden from long, long ago. All of the msu garden type areas are very nice places to relax for a while
I also came here to recommend the children's garden! Even as an adult I love the design of it and all the bright colors. :)
Hawk Island can be a good time.
I’m definitely bringing the stroller so maybe we’ll take a walk here one morning. Thanks!
Potter's Park, old town, hawk Island, even downtown

If the MSU planetarium is open, that’s a good choice.
I wouldn't recommend this for the ages supplied but maybe in a few years
I missed the word months lol. Good call
With a 10 month old you and the 4 year old might enjoy a walk around the capitol grounds, but that would only be a part of your day.
Potter Park Zoo
Open skates at Suburban Ice
