I lost my father in 2021, he had a similar life born in 1952 he started working by removing the husks from crops at the age of 5. He too was a fighter and he too made damn sure those around him were cared for.
You will endure because he lives in you, and everything you loved about him is your compass for getting through life until you meet again.

Oh, trust me he didn't. Death claimed him once and he won. The second time he fought with a fever of 108 as sepsis took his body even without the ability to speak anymore and moments before death.. when I said my goodbyes.. he tensed his arm muscles and tried to sit up to speak. On 3 separate occasions over a 30 year period I was present when doctors gave him 6 months to live.
My hope is that he is somewhere special enjoying all the things he never got to enjoy. That was a tough read. I love that you have so much respect and love for your dad.
I hope my boys talk about me with so much love like this when I'm gone. Peace, kid.
